SonoCare
Transforming the African healthcare narrative
830 women die daily from preventable complications in pregnancy and childbirth. Most women never get to know they have high risk pregnancies until they get to labor when it probably becomes too late because our healthcare system is under-equipped and available alternatives are not easily accessible and too expensive.
SonoCare is a mobile solution that helps detect pregnancy complications before they become threats to the life of women through a portable framework that uses a mobile app and portable ultrasound machines and vehicles in delivering conveniently accessible and low-cost life-saving diagnostic imaging interventions at point of care in partnership with aid agencies, NGO’s faith-based organizations and healthcare providers to give women a chance to safer pregnancy outcomes.
SonoCare is distinguished by:
- Innovative technology: SonoCare will be the first to deploy a web/mobile app that will aid ease of access to services, cloud-based patient information storage and real-time access to patient diagnostic records/reports anywhere anytime to aid faster interventions especially in emergencies as well as provider-partner collaboration.
- First in market: SonoCare is the first in the market to offer mobilized diagnostic imaging services in Nigeria and the wider sub-Saharan Africa.
- Portability: SonoCare takes utility of portable equipment that enhances ease of mobility
- Prompt service: SonoCare’s services are delivered within minutes of request anytime, anywhere
- Seasoned, skilled and qualified personnel
- Low price, more value: SonoCare’s services are competitively priced below competitors’ rates yet delivering greater value to users and partners alike (A sonogram costs a minimum of $7 and a maximum of $17 in Nigeria and the average woman requires a minimum of 2 sonograms in a normal pregnancy or more in the event of complications. The rural woman spends an average of $7 in transportation in search of providers before paying the cost of a sonogram. Hence, she spends a minimum of $14 and a maximum of $24 to get a sonogram which is why most rural women never bother about seeking care services. This is apart from the time lost in travelling and the associated inconveniences which have often proven fatal in the case of the critically ill. By delivering these services at points of need, SonoCare takes away these inconveniences, saves time, saves costs (saves an average of $16 per woman), saves lives and makes care services accessibly available and affordable to those women who need them most)
- Unlike these competitors who wait for customers to seek them out and worse still very expensive for the average users as compared to SonoCare which is mobile and delivers the service conveniently within minutes directly whenever and wherever needed
SonoCare will contribute to ending the scourge of maternal mortality around the world especially in the sub-Sahara Africa, enhancing safer pregnancy outcomes; improve access to critical care services as well as improving the quality of healthcare delivery and changing
