Hasketech
In the World of Covid-19 pandemic, over half the world's population remain disconnected from the Web. With only 28.2% of Africans online and 37% of rural US household with no access to the internet, billions of people are excluded from accessing jobs, training, and markets, thereby affecting digital economy adversely.
Although, online retailer companies are owned by the World Richests, they failed to serve the Low-income Groups or the Refugees. They are only able to serve the privileged few neglecting the larger section of the world's population.
It is this bias we come to correct. Hasketech is a digital device financing platform, a retailer and consumer loan/grant company that promise to get people have access to Digital Infrastructure and the free Certified Digital Training(CDT) service, connecting the Low-Income Groups to the web of opportunities. Thereby getting millions out of poverty and contributing trillions of dollars to global economy.
32% of phone users own a smartphone in Nigeria and because majorities in sub-saharan Africa cannot afford a smartphone only 28.2% of Africa can access the internet. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, many sold their devices for food/health, making access to the available broadband even more difficult. Insecurity in Nigeria and some part of Africa is sweeping millions of people out of their homes making them jobless, homeless, and poor lacking access to amenities let alone the internet. But some other people in Nigeria and around the world cannot access the internet not because they can't see money to afford the internet, but because they can't see reason to obtain what they feel cannot benefit them or something they can't operate. In a nutshell, people around the world cannot access the internet either because because they can't afford it or they can't operate it.
People, especially Low-income Groups and Refugees, encounter barriers that exclude them from the digital economy. And this barriers can sometimes be insurmountable keeping them out of lucrative businesses, good jobs and many other opportunities online. Breaking or lowering this barriers, and creating windows and access to the online platforms for everyone is the solution we offer toward digital inclusiveness
Barriers to digital economy are mostly associated to digital infrastructure and digital literacy. We remove these barriers and introduce our customers to a financing platform (Financed Purchase Service - FPS), and a free Certified Digital Training (CDT) service. By adopting to these platforms, there are no more barriers and you are left with one option "join online."
It is an online retailer-fintech company that provide consumer loan/grant and retail digital devices to its customers.
Our process are in two directions;
- We obtain and manage data from our suppliers to our customers, and
- We obtain and analyze data from our customers for our use.
We are able to use technologies ranging from Artificial Intelligence, Data Centre Cooling, Machine Learning, and Blockchain.
Our Targeted Group(Low-income Groups)
Low-income Earners | Refugees.
Low-income earners are parsons at the risk of poverty, they are considered those whose so-called equivalent income is lower than 60% of the equivalent median money income of all households. While refugees are displaced parsons from economies/communities affected by fragility, conflict, and violence.
Unfortunately, people at Low-income Groups and Refugees are increasing at a hiking stage due to Covid-19 and Insecurity.
As many as 150 million people are at the risk of becoming extremely poor by the end of 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic. And if extreme poverty is defined as living on less than $1.9 a day, in Nigeria alone more than 82 million people live below $1. Globally, over 700 million people are living on less than $2 with more than 40% from economies affected by fragility, conflict, and violence.
Despite growing number, Low-income Groups and Refugees are on a constant struggle in life, ranging from housing to jobs.
Generally, they cannot afford to own a computer and they are digitally excluded.
Their Needs
Access to Digital Infrastructure/Literacy.
There is growing problem of digital exclusion as governments and private organizations are moving services online and this is particularly disadvantaging Low-income Groups, including refugees and older people.
A significant proportion of the population is digitally excluded because they lack access to the digital infrastructure or have low level of digital literacy.
As governments and private organisation move services to self-serve channels, over half of the world population who are unable to move online, might miss out on services of the government and private organizations, for instance Covid-19 palliatives and other humanitarian aids.
Access to Digital Infrastructure /Literacy seems to be the biggest barrier to digital inclusion, especially for Low-income Groups and Refugees.
What We Do
Provide Access to Digital Infrastructure/Literacy.
Barriers to digital economy are mostly associated to digital infrastructure and digital literacy. We remove these barriers and introduce our customers to a financing platform (Financed Purchase Service-FPS), and a free Certified Digital Training (CDT) service. By adopting to these platforms, there will be no more barriers and you are left with one option "join online."
Impacts
SDG 9.
Internet access helps businesses grow and strengthens local economies, but it requires infrastructure in place. Investing in such vital digital infrastructures have the potentials to be truly transformational for people across Africa and the World.
The world bank estimate that a 10% growth in people connected to the internet leads to GDP growth of 1.38%. Yet more than 3.5 billion people around the world are still unconnected, and many more underserved.
Improving access to affordable good-quality internet is central to development, strengthening the growth of businesses and local economies, and is a key part of Sustainable Development Goals 9.
We are able to serve over 4257 people since 2018 with 1520, 1715, and 1022 people from 2018, 2019, and 2020 respectively. In the first quarter of 2021 we are able to serve more than 840 people.
For three years today, our solution have served over 5000 people with about 150 people accessing our Financed Purchase Service(FPS) and several thousand others accessing our free Certified Digital Training(CDT) service. by the end of 2021 we are expected to serve over 8972 people. Because we are aiming to make our services more standard than local and only physical, we are on a transition to a more digital services, including delivery of devices. Our digital services will increase customer participation and this will bring about business growth.
With a functional online FPS platform, an adequate free CDT service, and an unaltered supply, we will be able to serve over a million people by 2022 next year. This numbers are not more than 1% of our targeted population in Nigeria alone which can contribute more than $143 billion to the economy.
And by the end of 2026, we will be serving at least 1% of our global targeted population. Hence, in the next five years, HaskeTech will be able to serve over 30 million people and this can contribute $4.3 trillion world wide.
- Provide low-income, remote, and refugee communities access to digital infrastructure and safe, affordable internet.
People, especially Low-income Groups and Refugees, encounter barriers, access to Digital Infrastructure/Literacy, that exclude them from the digital economy. And this barriers can be insurmountable keeping them out of lucrative opportunities.

- Pilot: An organization deploying a tested product, service, or business model in at least one community.
Hasketech services has been available in Kano, the most populous state in Nigeria. For three years today, our solution have served over 5,000 people with about 150 people accessing our Financed Purchase Service(FPS) and several thousand others accessing our free Certified Digital Training(CDT) service.

- A new business model or process that relies on technology to be successful
Online Retailer Companies are established with the prime objectives to exclusively serve their customers online, by providing easy access to products and a variety of options for customers to choose from.
Although online retailer companies are owned by the World Richests, they failed to serve the Low-income Groups or the Refugees. They are only able to serve the privileged few neglecting the larger section of the world's population.
At HaskeTech, our approach is purely new. We believe that opportunities should be shared equally and there should be no point to further narrow the targeted customers, but rather provide windows that can introduce us to new set of customers.
The difficult questions we answered include, who to serve? How to serve. We are committed to serve the Low-income Groups and the Refugees via our Financed Purchase Service( FPS) platform. The introduction of FPS platform into online retailer companies will unleash a set of new customers and expose the companies into a new business circle formed by two different spheres- one half by online retailer shop and the other half by a fintech. FPS is the only force available to grant Low-income Groups and Refugees an opportunity to join online.

As Advocates of Inclusive Economy.
Our guiding principles are to ensure the world is managing the barriers to digital and inclusive economy in a responsible and socioeconomic manner. In the end, we want to SERVE!
At HaskeTech we fully understand how volatile is the environment in which we leave. In Nigeria it wasn't racism, it is regionalism, ethnicism, nepotism, and religious bigotry that is chopping up the very bond that bind us as a nation. Although we are not at any position to bring those who fan social injustice to book, we strive at our capacity in addressing these issues. We believe in purpose, and regardless of religion, culture, or tribe everyone is welcome to join our team. We also want to create a working environment in which everyone feels valued and respected. Our guiding principles are to ensure the world is managing the barriers to digital and inclusive economy in a responsible and socioeconomic manner.

We wish to use the $10,000 grant in business growth. And more important than anything is being a selected Solver Team, as this is just enough for outsourcing partners, more specifically " Investors and Suppliers."
- Financial (e.g. improving accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Legal or Regulatory Matters
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design, data analysis, etc.)
HaskeTech seeks support and partnership in the following to;
- Improve our abilities in pitching business to investors.
- Acquire an in-depth knowledge on requirements of the law for global running of the FPS platform.
- Outsource partners in adopting modern technologies.
We need partnerships with the followings.
- Investors: These are our FPS platform's potential partners. They include financial institutions, individuals and companies. They will help in funding our solution.
- Suppliers and Manufacturers: These are long chain manufacturers/suppliers of digital device products. These include the HP Computers and others. They will help in constant supply of goods and in cutting down price.
- Technology Solutions Companies: These are companies that specialize in internet-related services and products. These include Google LLC and others. These will help us in deploying best engineers, and IT experts to work.

Refugees are the mobile workforce of the future. "Human migration is seen as an opportunity for economic prosperity—an opportunity that technology can help scale," said Carlos Centeno, "some refugee solutions focused on remote work, hiring talent for translation services, software development, AI data tagging, or various forms of data correction. Others focused on upskilling refugees for new jobs or recertifying their existing credentials." Carlos was right.
While communities are the forces for refugee inclusions, Technology is the driver. Technology is a source of power for the people, making access to digital infrastructure inevitable.
But refugees encounter barriers in accessing Digital Infrastructure/Literacy, and this excludes them from the digital economy. These barriers can sometimes be insurmountable keeping them out of lucrative opportunities.
