Chanjoplus
Enabling access to life saving vaccines for every child no matter where they live.
Immunization averts an estimated 2 to 3 million deaths every year from diphtheria, tetanus whooping cough and measles.(W.HO 2017 Immunization coverage Fact sheet). Immunization therefore represents one of public health’s most valuable and cost-effective interventions, and delivers positive health, social, and economic benefits.
Despite these successes ,considerable gaps remain in ensuring that no child is left out from accessing life saving vaccines;leading to 1 in 5 children still dying due to vaccine preventable diseases. The major challenge is lack of proper identification and registration of infants ,leading to several children still remaining under the radar from accessing immunization services and other health services across the value chain.
Our solution seeks to improve identification and registration of infants ,to be able to remotely track their vaccine uptake and ensure that very child has access to life saving vaccines no matter where they live. Chanjoplus is an immunization data enabled,feature-phone integrated platform that identifies and registers every newborn in low resource settings who are at risk of missing out on life saving vaccines and tracking their immunization schedule remotely to establish if they default, completed their schedule and the extent of reach. Every newborn is registered on a feature phone both at the household level and at the clinic level and their immunization tracked remotely, thus detecting aspects such as default rate, vaccine utilization rate, and demand as well as immunization coverage from the facility level to regional level. Chanjoplus brings an innovative approach to collecting data and triangulation of data across different sources through integration of immunization data systems, as well as the ability to address data use demands from multiple stakeholders on a cloud hosting platform thereby making access to immunization services a reality especially for the poor resource ,poor infrastructure and low connectivity settings .
The project is embedded on Sustainable Development Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages; with specific focus to contribute to SDG’s target 3.2:To end preventable deaths of new-borns and children under five years of age.By leaving no child behind,we hope to change the world by contributing to the realization of S.D.G number 3 as well as ensuring healthy happy families out of poverty caused due to out of pocket health expenditures in treating vaccine-preventable diseases.

- Other (Please Explain Below)
1.Chanjoplus assigns a digital I.D to every child making tracking of their immunization uptake as simple as a click of a button
. 2.With Chanjoplus partner portal our partners that include health facility can access and pull immunization reports on the go .
3.Chanjoplus has innovatively redesigned the structure of immunization session thereby reducing waiting time for improved caregiver satisfaction and improved immunization service delivery.
In the hospital model setup through mobile technology, service providers are able to retrieve vaccination records of all the infants and identify which vaccine is due ,they are able to flag off defaulters and follow through to give them the missed vaccines .They are also able to generate and pull vaccination performance reports real time. Technology has therefore increased efficiency in immunization service delivery and reduced waiting time by up-to 50%.
For community health workers, and caregivers, chanjoplus has increased uptake of immunization and has made it easy for community health workers to monitor mothers who default all through their mobile phones..
We have set out to increase our infant reach to 15,000 infants under the age of 5 years in 187 clinics resulting to an average of 80 infants per clinic over the next 12 months.
Our Sustainable clinical roll-out is set to be driven by partnerships with Governments and NGO´s and the private sector so as to increase our Infant Reach.
In the next three years we plan to have a sustainable model by increasing our infant reach to 50,000 infants covering over 500 clinics.
Our focus is targeted at three regions in Kenya for the first three years with a an estimated population of 109,000 infants at a 55% penetration.in the first year,60% penetration the second year and 65% in the third year.

Our Sustainable scaling strategy is informed by partnerships with Governments and NGO´s and the private sector so as to increase our Infant Reach and clinical roll-out .
We believe that partnering with N.G.O's will enable us penetrate the local communities where they already have working structures with the local health ecosystem including community health workers local administrative units as well as clinics and Ministries of Health. Our strategy is therefore to use these existing structures to reach and retain our customers and beneficiaries.
Currently we have enrolled 6,000 children who we have enabled to access life saving vaccines to protect them from vaccine preventable diseases.
We are working with three clinics in Kibera slum on of the biggest slums in Africa situated in Nairobi Kenya.
Our solution has enabled the three clinics to effectively track the registered infants and update their immunization records with ease impacting over 5000 families directly.
In 12 months ,we expect to be serving 15,000 infants in 185 clinics in Kenya alone directly enabling them to access life saving vaccines and therefore protecting them from the burden caused by vaccine-preventable diseases
In three years our reach will be over 50,000 children served by over 500 clinics who will be directly given access to life saving vaccines and therefore preventing them from the burden of diseases as well as economic burden caused by paying for treatment caused by vaccine-preventable diseases.

Our team is driven by our passion to address the gaps in immunization knowledge as well as high default rate in immunization through the adoption of technology.Enabling last mile immunization coverage is our mission and we are guided by our vision of leaving no child behind.
We have a team of five with expertise ranging from software development, customer experience ,marketing ,finance and business development. We also leverage the expertise of our advisers who boast a wealth of industry experience and insights that are a value add to the core team
Our revenue model is driven by two variables;the number of clinics ofering immunization services and the number of infants reached.
Sustainability model for the clinics comprises of a set-up fee of $1000 per clinic targeting 6500 clinics in Kenya alone. We also have a subscription model were the clinics pay $2 for registration of infants and a monthly maintenance of $1 per child per month targeting 1.5 million children.
Our sustainability is driven by partnering with Governments,NGO's and the private sector to increase our clinic and infant reach and we expect to be sustainable by reaching 35 clinics with an infant population of 80 newborns per clinic at a penetration rate of 55-65 %. With this projection we shall cover our costs and sustainably increase our impact.
