Monitoring child health indicators in (post)pandemics Brazil
An automated monitoring system that aims draw scenario between health children indicators born in Brazil and the knowledge production related.
PhD in Public Health and Environment, Researcher and Professor at the FIOCRUZ. I’m expert in the processes of building models for assessing exposure environmental and risk of chronic health outcomes.
- Identify (Determine & limit the disease risk pool & spill over risk), such as: Genomic data to predict emerging risk, Early warning through ecological, behavioural & other data, Intervention/Incentives to reduce risk for emergency & spill over
Besides the production of indicators that can be used as guides by managers and decision makers in the field of health, the proposal also brings the potential of being placed as a source of data for carrying out research on the subject. The recognized and reported difficulties in the access to data from health information systems, certainly, may discourage the performance of investigations and the advancement of knowledge in the field.
The proposal also advances in the proposal of articulation between the health indicators of neonates and the most recent scientific findings published in literature.
The products of this project are dedicated to public health managers and researchers from Brazil in order to provide them with information for decision-making for prevention, promotion and care for maternal and child health. As well as for better health care for newborns.
The development of a monitoring system, scanNeo2020/30, which will be responsible for automating the collection and organization of data in both perspectives presented in the proposal (health indicators and knowledge production) is an innovation that can be customized to respond to other demands and/or topics of interest in the health field.
The monitoring and relationship between health records and knowledge production is a possible and desirable approximation between the evidence of care practice and that of scientific character, which brings the potential to contribute to the greater success of translational research.
- Pilot: A project, initiative, venture, or organisation deploying its research, product, service, or business/policy model in at least one context or community
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
- Big Data
- GIS and Geospatial Technology
- A web application, with possible customizations, which aims at enabling managers and researchers to access and follow the dynamics of those indicators of greatest interest;
- A synthesis report of prospecting on the theme of neonates' health, pointing to emerging research themes and interests that can guide policies and strategies in the sector, and
- Relatório sintético preditivo sobre a saúde do recém-nascido, apontando possíveis mudanças na assistência e cuidados oferecidos a ele.ssíveis mudanças na assistência e cuidados oferecidos a ele.
This proposal aims to develop a fully automated methodology for collecting, organizing, and visualizing health indicators of children born after 2020 that can translate the birth conditions, available technologies, and mortality of this population. It is justified by the vital importance of monitoring the health situation and care of newborns pos-pandemic. In parallel, it also aims at automating the collection and organization of knowledge registers related, to improve the understanding of the indicators, anticipating possible interventions. An infrastructure of information thus conformed should support a panel of indicators, which should also be inserted in a multiplatform web application, aiming at providing researchers, and managers of the Unified Health System (SUS), an updated scenario of indicators and progress of knowledge-oriented to better care for children.
In the first quarter of 2021 Brazil has been showing an increase in the death of pregnant women who have just given birth due to Covid-19. Monitoring the health conditions of newborns, the health care infrastructure and the production of scientific knowledge can have a significant impact on the care of newborns.
The impacts on the indicators created and monitored by the research will be monitored. For each delivery described in the project schedule, its impacts will be measured.
The impact will be measured on changes in the values of the indicators created and monitored, through the trend of each one of them.
There are two major barriers in Brazil, the first is the financial barrier that we intend to overcome by seeking financing. The second is related to the difficulty of obtaining a database with a low time lag. This vineyard we intend to overcome through cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Brazil.
