Permanent antimicrobial active coating - without biocides
Sustainable hygiene solutions in hospitals and healthcare - no biocide, no silver, no nanoparticles, long lasting effect, envirinmentally friendly.
1. The problem:
Every year more than 250.000 patients only in the U.S. and in Europe die from hospital acquired infections.
2. The solution:
MUNDITECH has discovered an antimicrobial polymer which kills gram-positive (e.g. Staph. Aureus) and gram-negative bacteria (e.g. E.Coli) very efficiently up to sterility (>99,99999 %). The polymer consists of a backbone and specific tailored side chains. Upon contact of the side chains with the cell membrane of microorganisms, the integrity of the cell membrane is lost and the microorganism dies. The effect is based on a pure physical effect without chemical or ionic interactions. The mechanism is new. The technology is safe and can be applied to various surfaces like plastic, ceramic, metal or wood.
3. Impact:
- Reduce hospital acquired infections and provide a higher security standard
- Reduce costs related to hospital acquired infections
- Reduce costs of disinfection
- Effective and affordable healthcare services
- Other (Please Explain Below)
Safe and environmentally friendly solution without biocides, metals and nanoparticles; Mechanism is based on a physical effect without chemical or ionic interactions. The technology can be applied in various applications such as:
- Healthcare applications
- Homecare applications
- Food application (prevention of food losses)
- Water storage (prevention of biofouling of water)
We intend to provide tailored formulations for specific surfaces and apply the formulatios on various surfaces like plastic, metal, ceramic, wood and others.
Run pilot tests in hospitals and identify critical applications, which can be addressed by our technology.
Reduce the number of hospital acquired infections and save life of patients.
Reduce related costs of hospital acquired infections.
Reduce food losses by integration of the technology in food production, food storage and food packaging.
Provide a safe technology to store tap water and prevent biofouling.

Run pilot trials in hospitals to explore full set of applications. In close cooperation with hygiene specialists we will determine detailed applications and monitor the performance of the technology under real conditions.
We are currently running pilot projects in the B2B segment with companies (air conditioning, water, food and homecare) and healthcare to explore detailed applications.
We intend to reduce the number of hospital acquired infections significantly. For the time being more than 250.000 patients in Europe and North-America together die from hospital acquired infections only in the U.S. and in Europe. It is our goal to reduce the number of hospital aquired infections by providing an environmentally friendly, safe and very efficient solution.

Our team consists of very experienced members from industry and university. Each team member has more than 20 years of experience in chemical industry, investment banking, technology consulting and formulations of paints & coatings.
CEO: PhD and diploma in chemistry and business administration and more than 20 years experience in R&D, business development, marketing and technology consulting
CFO: Diploma in business administration and more than 20 years of experience in investment banking
Advisory board: professor of chemistry, specialized in the development of paints & coatings
Originally the development of the technology has been mainly financed by own funds. More recently MUNDITECH has also been supported by a pharmaceutical and chemical company during an accelerator program in 2018. We are currently looking for financial investors to finance our market market entry and growth.
As one of the leading research organizations in the U.S., Solve/MIT would be an ideal multiplicator and stakeholder to accelerate the awareness of our technology and to support market introduction in the U.S.
Raising the awareness of institutions and hygiene experts in healthcare for our unique sustainable technology, so that partners for a broad testing under real conditions in hospitals in different countries can be found.Solve can help as multiplicator in the U.S.
