Immediate isolation of healthy and sick people is the key response to prevent human-to-human transmission and spread of disease during pandemic. Duration of typical COVID-19 quarantine was two weeks, whereas nationwide lockdown took months in some countries. While technology allowed easy communication between people, online entertainment, and performing many types of works from home, regular exercise is difficult (if not impossible) in confinement. Lack of physical activity affects both physical and mental health that limits the duration of effective isolation and hence the effectiveness of response to pandemic. Clinical and aged populations become especially vulnerable because of disruption of cardiac care (see reviews in a pitch deck attached).
Long-term physical inactivity is considered as a negative second-order consequence of COVID-19 pandemic (see citation from literature in the pitch deck attached). People with chronic diseases, cardiac patients, elderly, and many others found themselves isolated in homes with limited capacity to move and exercise. While telehealth enables remote communication with care providers, physical assistance cannot be provided to sustain their activity. MDXD will supply these people with adaptable training devices, activity monitoring, motivating apps (such as interactive games and chatbots), and capacity to exercise during telehealth sessions with care providers. Adaptability and personalization of our solution will facilitate home-based activity of diverse groups of people in isolation.

The ‘public good’ of MDXD technology is enabling long-term isolation of large number of people to prove effective response to pandemics such as COVID-19. It aims to prevent negative health consequences of physical inactivity during prolonged confinement so that reducing possibility of breaking lockdown imposed during pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated that patients and seniors were the most vulnerable populations as requiring the longest isolation. Sustaining physical exercise at home would reduce their mental strain and health consequences because physical activity is well known for universal health benefits. Group activities from home in virtual reality represents an example of integration of MDXD hardware and digital technologies. Exercise at home during telehealth consultations is another example of utilizing our technology.
MDXD technology has potentially unlimited scalability because of compactness, portability, and low cost of hardware combined with the capacity for integration with modern digital technologies. It means usability for anyone with electronic devices such mobile phones and PCs, which now used by most of the global population.
The success would be measured by introduction and scaling up MDXD technology as indicated by entering different markets and product sales.
