Physician Cognition - Global Ai Health Assistant
Physician Cognition has developed the most sophisticated Ai healthcare decision engine, Xebra (pronounced zebra), providing optimal healthcare solutions.
Onchocerciasis or river blindness is the world's second leading infectious cause of blindness and is present in 36 countries of Africa, the Arabian peninsula and the Americas. As a public health problem the disease is most closely associated with Africa, where it constitutes a serious obstacle to socio-economic development. A total of 18 million people are infected with the disease and have dermal microfilariae, of whom 99% are in Africa. Of those infected with the disease, over 6.5 million suffer from severe itching or dermatitis and 270,000 are blind.
With our advanced technology we've created an app which helps doctors detect this dangerous affliction which can go unnoticed for years till too late. By combining human and Ai technology intelligence, clinicians can harness the power of decision support tools to alleviate this alarming rate of error. We have developed a sophisticated health decision engine over the past 5 years that can quickly process over thousands of symptoms into a clear list of diagnoses sorted by probability.
The rate of diagnosis error,15-20%, sadly hasn't changed for decades even though our world has experienced many advancements in medicine. Simple human cognitive error bears the brunt of these errors which contribute to medical error being one of the top causes of death today. We have an answer.
Our solution, Xebra, is a user-friendly app that can enable clinicians wherever they practice and provide them with timely & accurate health insight minimizing diagnosis error. Our engine built by doctors utilizes Bayesian algorithms, pattern recognition, and Ai to provide clinicians with answers free from cognitive influence. Xebra not only provides a list of top differential diagnoses, but recommended physical signs and labs. We also plan to incorporate blockchain technology to provide a secure way of documenting patient health data.
Our decision engine can be utilized by patients too, empowering them with accurate health insight they can share with their provider. Over 70% of Americans first turn to Google with their symptoms before anything else and well over 30% of the time this self-diagnosis ends up being incorrect. Often a trip to the ER is the next step where over 140 million trips happen contributing to more congestion and wait times. Over 43% of hospital visits in the US start from an ER trip and over 60% of these visits are avoidable costing us $18 billion annually.
Xebra provides a novel healthcare solution arming clinicians and patients with better insights in the hopes of improving diagnosis and outcomes from sub-Saharan Africa to Boston.
- Effective and affordable healthcare services
- Workforce training, recruitment, and decision supports
Our healthcare decision support engine utilizes advanced Bayesian algorithms, Ai (reinforcement learning), pattern recognition, and blockchain technology to produce accurate and secure health insights. Our healthcare engine was built to mimic the cognitive strategies employed by a top physician.
By utilizing the latest Ai and blockchain technologies our healthcare engine can accurately provide patients around the world with healthcare insight via our secure app. A patient can type in any number of symptoms, signs and past medical information, and our engine will produce an accurate list of diagnoses sorted by probability, recommended labs, and physical signs.
Our main goals for the next 12 months are to complete our seed capital round, and commence test pilots in the US and sub-saharan Africa. We aim to have 2 pilots in the US and 2 in Nigeria serving 100,000 in the US and 5,000 in Nigeria.
Our app is scalable and gets smarter with more patient data. Our goal is to replicate our test pilots along the east coast of the United States and add more in Nigeria at the same time. The revenue we collect from our sales in the United States will provide funding for our operation in Nigeria. This funding model has been successfully employed by many companies most notably Toms.

Social media, PR and joint ventures will be our primary ways of marketing and attaining customers. We will use Google as well as Facebook campaigns to reach customers in the US and primarily joint ventures in Nigeria. We also plan to start test pilots at a few top healthcare provider networks in Boston where we can validate our solution. We aim to use PR about our pilots to expand our reach to more patients to increase downloads of our app.
We currently have close to 10,000 downloads of our diagnosis app from primarily physicians in the US. We interact with them regularly so that we can improve our app. We also have many medical residents, students and professors that utilize our app.
We aim to serve 100,000 patients with our personal ai health assistant app which will help them attain more insight about their current health, receive appropriate care and increase patient satisfaction for healthcare providers. In 3 years, we aim to be serving over 1million patients in the US as we will expand our offering to other major cities (NYC, D.C., Atlanta, Nashville). The major benefits our app offers are increasing patient satisfaction, lower cost of patient leakage for provider, and minimize diagnosis error.

We have an experienced team and board of advisors who've started successful start-ups and lead large organizations. For example, our CMO, Christian Habermann prior to this started a successful online insurance comparison website, Goji.com, that made the Inc500 List 3 years in a row. Our Chief of Ai lead the data team that developed Starbuck's user-friendly app.
Our revenue model is very simple and straightforward consumer app monthly service fee. It is very scalable and affordable. For the first year our consumer facing app in the United States will be free to speed adoption, but after one year there will be a modest $5 per month fee. We plan to partner with leading telemedicine providers too like TelaDocs and AmWell, and license our technology for a small per user usage fee. We will not charge users in Africa. The revenue we collect from our users in the US will fund our operations in Africa.
Solve is the ideal vehicle to help our company attain needed funds and meet potential new partners. We are very grateful for this great opportunity.
