Project: Land Acknowledgment

The goal for this project is to create authentic resources & connecting between East coast tribes and indigenous people to fill the lack of true history in educational institutions. 

Im proposing to create a digital & Interactive space to truly honor Land Acknowledgments, This project creates real connections between Indigenous East Coast tribes & Institutions in supporting education of the Indigenous history, social issues & land and water rights.

My project creates positive change by creating solutions for educational gaps in East Coast Indigenous and other peoples of color history in educational   institutes. These connections allows indigenous people to share their narratives of their culture and connections to their land and waters. This project gives non- & indigenous people authentic resources of the past, of the lands they reside and benefit from. This project also creates avenues of future opportunities and economic for indigenous people.

The issue of lack of indigenous perspective and narrative to their history is a Injustice, not just for indigenous people but for others not to know the history of the lands they live and work on. This project creates a space for this knowledge to be distributed and allow real land acknowledgments to give honor  and recognition to the ongoing reconciliations and positive connections of changes to indigenous communities and land rights.
Land rights is a large issue to many indigenous communities on the East Coast. Access to traditional medicine, burial grounds, sacred lands and grown herbs. Can create awareness between many communities. This issue can be resolved with sharing information of past traditions to be communicated too allowing landowners to understand the significance of their lands they reside on.

My project consists of a online information resources,  cultural and educational strategies, educational materials, videos , East Coast native literature and craft resources, indigenous artists, educators historian, tribal leaders, land and water preservers, database that these connections can be made between institutions and indigenous communities social educational engagement programming. This digital space will be yearly up dated with news and current events, new platforms and other indigenous organizations institutes and businesses resource. This project and digital space will be marketed towards indigenous communities and institutions to form interest in the historic value and commitment to restoring justice amongst indigenous tribes along the East Coast.
The goal of this project is for all tribes on the East Coast to benefit from this. To allow their story and histories be preserved and shared. This can create solutions for the lack of diverse history when it comes to indigenous tribes on the East Coast.

This project fills a need where there is a gap in the educational and institutional knowledge of East Coast Indigenous peoples.This project prepares and educates the future with the skills and understanding of the first people and their connection to their history.

This space provides indigenous people and non indigenous people to make these connections. As an indigenous person this is important for my practice as a educator and artist to inform people that indigenous people are still alive and are of communities amongst them. My goal is to make visibility of indigenous communities and allowing  land acknowledgments to be appropriately honored by its people and for its people.

Research and networking with schools and colleges to work with students who have the same ideas of creating change for the future using Art, education and history. Diversity is the goal of this work to educate, engage, explore and create new understandings. 

Im applying to create change in my communities. Creating opportunities for the future, support in the change on how Native history is given in class rooms around the U.S. 

Im open to learn about any ways I can better my project's goals.
