Padimi Social Security Solution(PaSeSS)
Padimi.Co Social Security Solution (PaSeSS) is addressing the problem of social security in Nigeria and West Africa where emerging Capitalist Democracies have turned into unbridled survival-of-the-fittest. There's wild scramble for wealth acquisition without "government-defined" Social Safety Net for the bypassed bottom of the socio-economic pyramid.
The Formal Sector (Government and Big Corporations) does provide Healthcare Insurance, Bank Loan Guarantees, Insurance Coverages, Retirement and Employment (Severance) Benefits to their Employees. These Social Security Benefits don't exist in the Informal Sector (SMEs, Private Schools, Traders, Artisans, Self-Employed and Non-Unionized Workforces). There's hardly Access to Affordable Healthcare, Micro Insurance or Micro-credit for those in the bottom-of-the-pyramid Informal Sector.
PADIMI's "PaSeSS" is a package of B2C Financial Inclusion and B2B Aggregated Social Security Coverages which, if up-scaled, would build Social Capital and provide Healthcare, Micro-insurance, Financial inclusion SDG Compliant Social Security, including Literacy, Off- Grid Solar Electricity, for million of Africans.
Social Security and Financial Inclusion are the problem we are trying to solve. Reducing Africa's Pervasive Poverty is a good starting point.
West Africa has a population of 402 million of which Nigeria alone has 206 million (51%) -Worldometer.
This problem is pervasive throughout Africa. African Governments have failed the people. Private Sector initiative such as ours is urgently needed.
Over 60% of Nigerians earn less than $100 a month, thus they can be classified as poor. This Group is made up of literate and non-literate classes and fall between in ages of 18-65. They make up the core of the population and suffer from inadequate healthcare , no insurance coverage and lacking finance, hardly have access to credit and business capital. Over 120 million Nigerians fall into this bracket. By extrapolation, not less than 220 million West Africans are affected.
"Experts have argued that youth unemployment and underemployment are among the main barriers to development in West Africa. They said not only does the exclusion of young people from the labor force perpetuate generational cycles of poverty, it also breaks down social cohesion and can be associated with higher levels of crime and violence among idle youth." - https://acetforafrica.org/highlights/unemployment-in-africa-no-jobs-for-50-of-graduates/
The Target Population are the bottom of the pyramid individuals, who make up over 60% of the population. They reflect the African condition of poverty feeding unemployment; criminality and violence driving off tourism and foreign investments despite the huge economic and agricultural potentials. This condition breeds despair and demotivates the population from generation to generation, leading to illegal immigration of the youths and human trafficking of the females. This escalating social malaise leads to early marriage, infant mortality, lack of education, religious extremism, cultism, money rituals and get-rich-quick mentality. The victims range in age from 18 - 85, consisting of parents and children, generally under-employed, unemployed, formally or informally employed, of both sexes, male and female.
There is no Social Safety Net from the Governments, so everyone scrambles for self-help.
The first thing our product will do is to provide hope and reduce despair, then encourage Social Cohesion and Micro-Credit for Groups and Communities through Multipurpose Cooperative Society Platforms.
By subscribing to PADIMI Platforms the Members will get access to Healthcare, Agric Insurances, Micro-Credit and Mentoring that enhance Mental Health, Investment and Micro-Insurance to protect their Investments against Catastrophic Losses, for instance Flood, Fire, Epidemics, Theft and Community Clashes.
- Deploying features that encourage contributions regardless of literacy and numeracy levels — including in contexts with limited internet coverage
The solution covers the following challenges: Social Security, Universal Healthcare, Social Inclusion, insurance adoption,Financial literacy and Inclusion and Electricity Supply challenges. Our solution provides intermediation to Healthcare by providing B2B and B2C Health Insurance through HMO services at affordable rates. We provide financial and social inclusion through the use of web-based Multipurpose Cooperatives. Signing up and purchasing our Cooperative Subscription plan leads to Subscribers getting bank accounts created for them, then savings and loans on the platform create a credit-rating which is used to access Micro-Credit, Micro-Insurance, Healthcare, Mentoring and SOLAR ENERGY PRODUCTS through a cooperative purchasing scheme.
- Pilot: An individual or organization deploying a tested product, service, or model in at least one location.
- A new business model or process
Most Countries in West Africa Including Nigeria operate capitalist democracy in which there is no Social Welfare Program put in place for their Citizens. Government and private corporations take care of their unionized employees. The rest of the workers in the economy are barely unionized, hence, there is no job security, unemployment benefit, healthcare insurance, or easy access to credit for job losers especially Informal Sector.
In the scramble for personal wealth and personal security, the socioeconomic system leaves the masses of the people at the bottom of the pyramid where there has been dire need for social welfare but government-covered social security does not exist, thereby healthcare and finance lacking.
Healthcare coverage, life insurance, financial access, educational support, mortgage loans, farm subsidy, transportation and many things that make life easy and sustainable are lacking for most self-employed and unemployed people. To save money, a number of artisans and market traders make daily contributions called AJO or ESUSU just to force themselves to daily put away some cash which they retract at month ends.
PADIMI.CO is introducing SOCIAL SECURITY COOPERATIVES TO CREATE INNOVATIVE SOCIAL INCLUSION. The PADIMI Platform Leverages on existing Daily "AJO-ESUSU" CONTRIBUTIONS to open up access to Health Insurance Covers, General Insurances, Micro Credit, Revolving Credit Schemes and Self-Managed Social Security.
This Aggregated B2B Solution for the INCLUSION of the fringe population in Healthcare, Finance and Insurance, is a Mobile-Technology-Driven Innovation.
SOLAR ENERGY PRODUCTS CAN BE ACQUIRED THROUGH PADIMI THRIFT COOPERATIVES.
PROVISION IS ALSO MADE FOR MENTORING.
The PADIMI.CO Social-Security-Solution (PaSeSS) is ALREADY using modern FINTECH Tools that are available for E-Money, E-Wallets, Mobile-Phones, POS Units, Electronic Banking and Web-Based Technology to conduct financial transactions and in return provide Inclusive-Social-Security NEEDS to Subscribers.
Bankers already use these Tools.
While some of the Subscribers to the Padimi Service Platform may not be Internet-Savvy, they will be at least familiar with the use of Mobile Phones for Text Messaging and Banking Alerts. Where the literacy level is very low, Mentors/Sales Agents will be engaged by PADIMI.CO to register and service such Subscribers. In general, everyone of adult age understands how Cooperative Societies function because it all started from rural areas. At least 50%-70% of the Subscribers will have a telephone handset capable of receiving USSD Coded Messages for their Electronic Account Updates.

- PADIMI ALREADY HAS A REGISTERED MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVE.
PADIMI AIMS TO BE A GLOBAL PLAYER.
WEST AFRICA IS A STEPPING STONE.
NIGERIA ALONE HAS 51% OF WEST AFRICA'S POPULATION. Starting a Pilot Social Security Program In Nigeria makes sense in terms of Strategy and Potentials.
ECOWAS has already put in place a regional framework to harmonize Health Policy, Databases and Health Insurance Schemes etc under the sub-regional organization called WEST AFRICA HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WAHO). With Nigeria and Ghana (at least) already having National Health Insurance Schemes in place, and both countries (at least) already having MULTIPURPOSE COOPERATIVES, these two countries can provide the PILOT SCHEME for implementing the PADIMI SOCIAL SECURITY COOPERATIVE SCHEMES.
https://www.ecowas.int/institutions/west-african-health-organisation-waho/
Ghana's Ministry of Labor and Employment also has a dedicated department in charge of Cooperatives. This suits PADIMI PLATFORM for replicating its success story in Ghana by driving a Cooperative Subscription-based SOCIAL SECURITY PRODUCTS. This scheme can be expanded easily throughout WEST AFRICA as a private-sector driven internet-based Social Security Inclusion for individuals and Cooperatives in all strata of West African Society.
http://www.melr.gov.gh/ghana-co-operatives-council/
It has to be noted that with or without involving ECOWAS STATE BUREAUCRACIES, as long as there exist the basic framework and MOBILE infrastructures for FINTECH SERVICES, PADIMI plans to function in any country in Africa where there is deficit of SOCIAL SECURITY. Strategic alliances will be formed with in-country Fintech Companies of like-mind. An example of such companies is Cairo-based MONEYFELLOWS(c) which also shares a vision to operate Africa-wide.
Most Youths in West Africa already have access to Social Media via Mobile Phones, Web Apps and Cybercafe. PADIMI SOLUTION are easy and User Friendly on Social Media.
The PADIMI Web Portal can be reached directly and Subscribers registered online by Mobile Phones or any Web-supported Devices. Trained and registered Aggregators, Mentors and Sales Agents are available in various locales; they speak local dialects to assist less-literate and less numerate offline Subscribers.
PADIMI.CO has established its access windows on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Apart from VOICE CALLS, Interface Contacts via Direct e-mails and Direct Chatlines are also available. Healthcare Providers are already enumerated under the accredited HMOs with which PADIMI has signed up strategic relationships. Hospitals of Convenience can readily be searched out via matrix listings or google-based GPS geo-locations and assigned to a Subscriber upon registration either as a Member of the Multipurpose Cooperative or Straight-line Subscriber to to any of the PADIMI SOCIAL SECURITY SCHEMES / COMFORT PRODUCTS.
PADIMI Subscribers that are not on Mobile Phones, not Internet Connected, and not on Social Media can still receive Social Security coverage and subscribe offline to PADIMI through their trained registered Area Aggregators, Mentors, Sales Agents, or Cooperative Association.
In Nigeria 84% of adult age have mobile phones. Tele-density in ECOWAS is not far behind.
The Padimi Social Security Solution (PaSeSS brand) does not require extraordinary technology other than Mobile Phones, Internet Connection, POS Terminals, E-Banking, and Manual Data Entries where there is no Mobile Connectivity. However, it is very important to have a secure Back-end and User Interface.
By setting up its independent Web Portal, PADIMI has been able to sign on other API's such as E-Wallets and E-Banking Apps that make Inter-Operability feasible and efficient.
PADIMI can as such conduct e-payments to its Subscribers and Service Aggregates as in CURRENTLY CONDUCTED in any other Electronic Banking Transaction.
The Solution also requires Database Maintenance, Automatic and Reliable Updating, Automatic Messaging and Automated E-Learning (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) for On-Demand Reporting.
For purposes of reliability, independence and security, PADIMI will need to work with top-grade Technology Vendors/Partners to integrate, secure and optimize its E-Solution Contents.
Cloud Computing comes highly recommended for Database Storage but the local expertise is fairly limited in experience and competency. This challenge is recognized and the solution is being worked out with Google Experts in mind.
Low Connectivity is not a problem, nor is low literacy or numeracy.
The Padimi Sales Agents are trained to also act as MENTORS, Trainers and Helpers to the PADIMI Subscribers. PADIMI is already conscious of the situation that its services are directed towards the bottom of the socioeconomic pyramid, several of whom will certainly live in rural areas and, even if in urban areas, may never have had formal education.
Padimi also opened its platform for community ambassadors who will be spokespersons, that speak the local dialect and are familiar with the terrain. They will be responsible for communal growth and participation.
For the use of technology there are several strategies in place to help areas with low internet connectivity or penetration. The use of non-web offline applications such as USSD, as well as paper entries and records will make sure enrolment opportunities are granted to all. From paper records, the manual data entries will be collated and uploaded to digital databases and the PADIMI Social Security Services (PaSeSS) signed on as appropriate. Through the Trained Sales Agents, Support and Mentoring Services will be available on demand .
In summary, PADIMI Products are targeted at the operators of the Informal Economic Sector bypassed by normative literacy and numeracy, even though the PADIMI products will also cater to literate and numerate operators of SMEs and those in the Formal Sector that wish to subscribe.

We are already on a PILOT PHASE ready to accelerate.
We can expand very rapidly if we have the financial capital to boost our acceleration plan.
Many West Africans are familiar with Cooperative Credit Unions in which members contribute money among themselves weekly or monthly. There are variants of this wherein Cash Contributions are made in the market or work-place on Daily basis. The aim is the same, to help oneself put away some cash SAVINGS against which the Members would take turns to draw BULK CREDIT to solve specific needs and achieve goals that could otherwise be difficult to achieve on one's own.
PADIMI expects to upgrade these Cooperatives to add value by making each Cooperative Unit be able to serve as Guarantors against BULK SUMS that could be sourced from within and outside AFRICA. Within 3 - 5 Years it should be possible to have at least 10,000 of such Cooperative Circles of a minimum 20 Members each across 2 Countries (200,000 Members). In 7 years that number could reach 20,000 in 4-5 Countries(400,000 - 600,000 Members). In 10 years that number could reach 100,000 in 10 countries. At 20 - 40 Members per unit in about 10 years, this would amount to 2 million to 4 million Members in about 7- 10 countries.
One major problem confronting Africa is Lack of Electricity.
PADIMI PLANS TO USE THE COOPERATIVE PLATFORMS FOR SOLAR POWER PENETRATION. If successfully implemented, this proffers that some 2 - 4 million household could be helped to acquire some basic Solar Electricity in 5 - 10 years. Repayments may be recovered over 10-year structured repayment Plans under Guarantees.
There are no barriers. There are only untapped potentials.
PADIMI.CO is using existing but challenged products to pluralize services and open-up their accessibility to the Bottom of the Social Pyramid.
The policy framework about E-Commerce, E-Banking, Mobile Communication, Fintech, Internet Services, Cooperative Societies, Private Enterprise, Domestic and Foreign Investments, Legal Frameworks for doing Business, Taxation Laws, and Profit Repatriation are all favorable to PADIMI and any foreign interests that would wish to support or partner with PADIMI.
There are no barriers.
ECOWAS is already an autonomous Economic Community in which there is Free Movement of Persons. A number of Nigerian businesses in the banking, telecoms, and manufacturing sectors already have branches in the ECOWAS countries. Businesses set up in various countries just have to be incorporated and local staff can work side by side with other nationalities.
Currencies are interchangeable and foreign currency exchanges are available at various banks. There are no major bottlenecks in getting work-permits for foreign nationals.

PADIMI currently has strategic alliances and B2B service agreements with Health Insurance Companies (HMOs), E-Payment Platforms and Banking Gateways such as:
MTECH – Mobile Payment, USSD Code Services
SMART TELLER – E-Payment Gateway
PAYSATCK – E-Payment Gateway
ESUSU AFRICA- Agency Aggregation and Customer Profiling
Providus BANK – Main Banking and E-Wallet Platform
Reliance Healthcare – HMO and Hospital Services
Health Point - HMO and Hospital Services
Old Mutual insurance – General and Micro-Insurance Services
Anchor Insurance - General and Micro-Insurance Services
Axa Mansard - General and Micro-Insurance Services
The above listed organizations provide high-end corporate core services. Padimi.Co, by aggregating the specialized individual products from all the above listed service providers, is able to repackage new and unique one-shop product for Inclusive Social Security.
The PADIMI SOCIAL SECURITY SOLUTION (PaSeSS) is a Hybrid Business Model with a strong Social Overlay for Profit and Non-Profit.
The Non-Profit Component thrives in using Multi-Purpose Cooperative Self-Help System to create web-based Subscriptive Platform (Thrift System) to empower the Bottom-Of-The-Pyramid Population to gain access to Social Security, Financial Inclusion and Solar Energy since Government has failed in providing Social Safety Net and basic Electricity Supply for the Masses.
The Profit Component lies in aggregating Healthcare Insurance, General and Micro-Insurance Coverages, Micro-Credit and Brokered Access to Solar Energy Products at Marginal Profit for creating these benefits using the PADIMI Social Security Package - PaSeSS.
The Profit to PADIMI arises from the bulk services to the population. Even though the financial gain per capita is marginal, by enlarging the Financial and Social Capital created, the profit to PADIMI is good enough for re-investment to create a wider and deeper value chain.
– Registered as Limited Liability Company (For Profit)
- Registered as a Multipurpose Cooperative Society (For Non-Profit)
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
PADIMI.Co is a self-sustaining Social Enterprise. Its success is two-fold: the Profit and Non-Profit synergy created to market Membership-Subscribed Market-Driven Social Security Products and the acquisition/transfer of real-world tangible assets that have transferable and sustainable market value.
The Sales of PADIMI Social Security Packages (PaSeSS) brings in revenue.
On the Multi Purpose Cooperative Platform, the brokering of Assets Acquisition (real needs) e.g Solar Energy Products as Essential Assets for Cooperative Subscribers also generates revenue.
As part of our global growth, we plan to expand to other countries in Africa and the rest of the world. The growth plan is to add more service providers so we can have more robust product lines and increase the number of Subscribers on the platform. This will increase our profit margins. With this, PADIMI can expand on current licenses; these will enable us do more.
Donations and Grants - These help us expand our scope and business latitude with less emphasis on profit but more on community social services - e.g providing Solar Energy Free-of-Charge to the extremely VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES.
Selling Products - The selling of the Social Security Packages (as renewable intangible assets) and Solar Energy Products (as tangible assets and infrastructure provision) at a small profit serves its purpose to sustain the business and service its overheads. This qualifies as B2C marketing.
Selling Services - The packaging of Health Insurance Cover, Micro-Insurance, Micro-Credit, Training and Mentoring, and Installation of Solar Energy Products obtained from Second Parties qualify as income-earning B2B Products/Services
Padimi has been bootstrapped from inception and it has generated a total revenue of $13,000 within the last three months. A beta version of the web application was launched in April 2020 and since its launch it has registered 50 subscribers under the Padimi Healthcare and Micro Insurance product (PaSeSS).
An upgrade of the web-platform is in progress.
The sales revenue will go up once Multi Media Advertising is boosted
PAdimi is seeking to raise seed funding to the tune of $200,000 for which a SAFE agreement would be in place or an equity stake assigned.
The funds will go into building subscriber base and mentor-agency network. That will be an expansion drive of the Pilot Phase into states in Nigeria outside Lagos. Lagos is currently the HQ and Operations Base of PaSeSS.
In addition to mobile application hardwares and the acquisition of the minimum Licence requirement for Fintech Companies will be perfected in order to empower Padimi to operate as Mobile Money Operator. This license would allow padimi create its own mobile money network rather than leverage on third party APIs and Gateways as it is currently doing.
Also, some of the inflow will be used as working capital to increase the inventory of the Solar Power Products in order timely meet the market demands.
Padimi is on the lookout for early-stage Angel Investors and VC's.
Grants from Donors will be highly welcome too to especially support the Non Profit services rendered to the more vulnerable communities.
The Working capital needed for the year ahead is NGN31,861,496 (Nigerian Naira). This equivalent to US$70,803 - US$81,696, at exchange rates of NGN450 - NGN390 to One US$.
The amount will cover Direct Costs US$27,108.00 and
Indirect Costs $35,571.00.
For Solar Power Products Stock US$33,333,00 - $50,000 will be needed.
Rounded up, this comes to about US$130,000.00
When we win, our business will get the acceleration that we need to rapidly expand our services in West Africa.
We started out with word-of-mouth marketing in Lagos. This tool is needed virtually everywhere in Africa for the Bottom of the Social Pyramid.
If we have additional funding, we will go on all-out recruitment, training and use of Sales Agents for Direct Marketing, knowing that majority of our Target Population are generally not on Social Media.
To expand rapidly in the West African region, we shall set up seminal trans-national offices and as well train country and regional managers. This fast expansion strategy is best done with Grants and Donations if we can get them. Winning the Prize will help us expand quickly.
We shall incorporate as local business and obtain operation licenses in compliance with local edicts and country laws.
Rather than seeking out Third-Party Plug-Ins and Apps as we currently do, we shall create our own User Apps for self-sufficiency and security.
On our SOLAR ENERGY PENETRATION PRODUCTS we have already identified a suitable foreign manufacturer with whom we are already sharing our vision and we are in agreement.
