Bank Verification Number
1. I am committed to solving the problem of marginalization of the poor and the vulnerable in west Africa.
2. The solution I am proposing is the use of bank verification number to reach out to the poor and the vulnerable in west Africa.
3. My solution can positively change lives if it was scaled regionally by using the community heads of each community in every region across the whole country in west Africa to ensure that everyone-especially vulnerable groups are able to apply/register and obtain Bank Verification Number by opening a bank account with any of the commercial banks. By so doing, the poor and the vulnerable can be identified through a proper analysis of their banking transactions.
I am solving the problem of marginalization of the poor and vulnerable in west Africa.
How countries can ensure that everyone- especially vulnerable groups are able to apply/register for an ID in a way that protects people's health and the integrity of the ID system.
How countries can ensure that digital authentication mechanisms- which often require smart phones, computers and / or internet access are accessible and user-friendly for marginalized and vulnerable populations to facilitate remote access to services and benefits
The scale of the problem in the community I am working in is large and it is worst regionally. Over 70% of the population are affected.
The factors contributing to this problem that I am trying to solve include:-
1. Lack of innovative spirit by the leaders of west Africa
2. Lack of proper planing by the leaders of west Africa
3. Wicked, selfish and Corrupt west Africa leaders that will rather use systems that lack integrity to reach the marginalized and vulnerable populations just because they want to divert those resources for their personal use.
My solution serve the poor, marginalized and vulnerable population and my solution will financially impact their lives positively. Money answers all things.
The target population whose lives I am working to directly and meaningfully improve are the poor male and female from 16 years and above. Yes I said from 16 years because at the age of 16, most Africans will be ready to enter university but due to poverty, they will rather go about doing one job or the other.
I have representatives on social media from different communities that conduct surveys on this particular issues. My solution will simply address their needs by getting them to open a bank account with any of the commercial banks. By so doing, they will obtain the unique bank verification number and then, any individual, groups or governmental bodies that wants to reach out to them financially can do so using the bank verification number.
- Deploying features that use regionally interoperable foundational ID systems and can be accessed across borders, network providers, and languages — allowing workers to receive services and make contributions or withdrawals regardless of origin or location
The problem of marginalization of the poor and vulnerable population from the ages of 16 and above caused by lack of ID that protects peoples's health and the integrity of the ID system can simply be solved by ensuring that everyone-especially vulnerable groups apply/register for bank verification number by simply opening a bank account with any of the commercial banks
- Growth: An individual or organization with an established product, service or model rolled out, which is poised for further growth in multiple locations.
- A new application of an existing technology
My solution is innovative because it is an improved method of reaching out to everyone especially the marginalized and vulnerable group in countries in west Africa
Bank verification number as my solution has been tested and trusted. It has been working for all commercial banks in Nigeria
