Healthcare, globally, is shifting towards outside the hospital, by integrating health services in the community and home settings. However, the home healthcare services are still lacking in the Philippines. The existing ones are largely traditional brick and mortar with low technological capitalisation or operate in an informal referral system that is unstructured, not linked to hospital care, no proper clinical documentation and lack quality control, which is very alarming.
ONDAGO envisions a more organised and convenient home healthcare by capitalising on the untapped potential of nurses in the Philippines. For nurses, it will open a new market for nurses to practice. Based on the current market, nurses may earn up to thrice the minimum wage. For patients, it will be easier to find nurses that are customisable to their healthcare requirements.
Although the Philippines is a developing country, it has a dynamic digital usage, being hailed as the social media capital of the world. We would like to bring first-class home healthcare experience to Filipinos while providing dignified opportunities to nurses.
