In tanzania, Women are especially burdened by HIV, where 780,000 women aged 15 and over are living with HIV thus the high HIV prevalence for women at 5.8%, compared to 3.6% for men. According to the TDHS, 2016, the prevalence of teenage pregnancy has increased from 23% in 2015 to 27% in 2017, With the average first sexual experiences for Young People in East, Central and Southern Africa now at 13.6 years, crude birth rates for girls aged 15–19 show that there 135 births per 1,000 girls(13.5%) in Mainland Tanzania and 132 per 1,000 girls(13.2%) in Zanzibar, way above the global average of 44 per 1,000 girls(4.4%) this contribute significantly to the high maternal mortality rate in the country by 40% of all maternal deaths in the country.
An estimated 8,000 girls drop out of school every year due to pregnancy, and pregnant teenagers are more likely to be forced into early marriage since they are burned from school.
Most of these victims have admitted to their inadequate access to Sexual Reproductive Health Education, Contraceptives(Oral and Condoms) and HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment Services that are always surrounded by Social Stereotype, Stigma, Judgement as being the major promoter of their situations.
Kimya Kimya makes Sexual and Reproductive health, Contraceptives(Oral and Condoms) as well as HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment Services available, safe, affordable and accessible privately to youth regardless of their age, parity, marital status, race, and religion. Youths are able to order or get prescription for birth control, HIV prevention and treatment medication via the Mobile App or SMS-Platform which are delivered to their place of choosing.
The user has the benefit of choosing the receiving point that he or she feels safe and comfortable about, however, the app also recommends the nearest receiving points close to the user to make it easier and convenient.
The platform also provides a Menstrual cycle monitoring tool and Sexual Reproductive Health Information tailored to different users personas and helps the user to practice good use of drugs and protection by sending reminders/notifications to follow the indicated dosage and healthy tips.
To top it all the services are in both Swahili and English thus making the service provision more localized, effective and efficient.
The platform capitalizes on pre-existing Stakeholder Platforms such as existing health centers and pharmacies to increase the reach and reduce logistical costs, therefore, serving better the last mile consumers.
Kimya-Kimya(s) main aim is to Reduce Pregnancy-Related School Dropouts, High HIV/AIDS Prevalence among youth and most of all the ever increasing Teenage Maternal Deaths.
By Making Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDs Services more Private and Convenient Kimya-Kimya aims to increase the Desire(Demand) for SHR & HA Services thus increase Consumption.

Kimya-Kimya advocates for a drastic change in the Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDs Service Delivery Model from a Supply-Centric Model where services availability depends on the supplier into a Consumer-Centric Model giving the Consumer Full Control, Privacy and Guided Freedom of Choice on the Services, Time, Location, and Style of its Delivery.
Kimya-Kimya is the only Sub-Saharan Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDs Service Delivery Initiative that utilizes Mobile-Based Technology that is coupled with a distributed network of Fuel Efficient Service-Delivery Motorbikes to Streamline the Service(or Product) Delivery Process.
More than 60% of the Kimya-Kimya Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDs Service Delivery Operation is built on Mobile Technology and the other 40% on Web Technology.
Consumers Request for Products via Android and iOS Mobile Applications or via an SMS-Based Platform. The Requests are then processed by a Web-Service Backend and then pushed to the Appropriate Deliverers via their Android and iOS Mobile Applications. All these Mobile Applications work seamlessly to ensure Proper Anonymous Delivery to the Consumer.
A Web-Based Monitoring Dashboard and Control System is used by Management to oversee the entire Operation.
Currently targeting only the Kinondoni District in Dar es Salaam Region, Kimya-Kimya aims to expand to the other four Districts of the Region (i.e Ilala, Ubungo, Temeke and Kigamboni in their order of mentioning) thus reaching more Urban as well as Sub-Urban Consumers.

Dar es Salaam is the most Populated Region of the Country, therefore, offering a huge enough Consumer Sample size. The huge Population comes along with enough Logistical Challenges to give Kimya-Kimya to test its Motorcycle Service(or Product) Delivery Network. It is also where most of the Players are situated which opens up more Partnership opportunities.

According to Research, the four Regions in Tanzania that are most in need of and Demand the Kimya-Kimya Services mentioned in the order of the most affected to the least affected include: Katavi, Tabora, Morogoro, and Dodoma.

Kimya-Kimya operates on a Multi-sided Platform Revenue Generating Model with one side being the End-Users or Consumers and the other being Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS Service Providers, Players and Stakeholders.
Consumers want a more Private and Convenient way to access Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS Services and/or Products and therefore willing to Pay a Premium for that. Kimya-Kimya will charge its Consumers a minimum of TZS 1000(USD 0.50) equivalent to Price of the Most Affordable Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS Service(i.e. the Male Condom).
