Vocational Training Institute
1. We are committed to solving the problems of unemployment, poverty and underproductivity among the less-privileged people.
2. To solve this problems we are proposing a vocational training approach. We intend to train about 100people within the first 12 months in 2 streams of training. With 3 different schemes of training, we create a positive source of livelihood that the trainees will be able to live on after their training.
3. If follow to the latter, this idea will definitely solve the problems of unemployment, rural underdevelopment and poverty.
We are making frantic efforts to solve the problems of unemployment, rural underdevelopment, socioeconomic imbalances and poverty. In the first 12 months, we are targeting about 100 beneficiaries, who will be given adequate vocational training in viable self-employed ventures like cake baking, making cake, doughnut, liquid soap making, and other production making training.
Our targeted population whom we are working towards solving their socioeconomic problem are the people of Nkpor village, a suburb of Port-Harcourt city. The population of this people is about 50,000 people. More than 70% of this people are either half literates or stark illiterates, who are also helplessly ravaged by poverty. Having been in their midst for more than 9months working at a church leader, I now understand their plight and the best possible way to solve this is to provide them with vocational training that will empower and engage them in meaningful venture. After their vocational training with us, they shall them be able to convert their training to sources of livelihood.
- How can countries ensure that everyone—especially vulnerable and marginalized groups—are able to apply/register for an ID in a way that protects people’s health, data, and the integrity of the ID system?
The people of Nkpor village in the suburb of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State has been structurally cut off from the social and basic amenities for many years. Most of the people in this village are living in abject poverty and have to access to sustained source of livelihood. So with this training, some of them will have basic vocational engagement and thereby something to live on.
We are targeting about 100persons at the first 12months which shall run for 2 streams of maximum 6months each.
- Pilot: An individual or organization deploying a tested product, service, or model in at least one location.
- A new business model or process
Our innovative approach to solving the problems of poverty, joblessness and underdevelopment is different from many others in that we are neither political nor religiously affiliated. Our yardstick for choosing both applicants and beneficiaries has no bias nor prejudices. We provide an all comers level playing ground applicants.
Also our targeted populace are the vulnerable viz poor women and young girls, who cannot afford these vocational trainings in other places where exorbitant charges are being placed on trainees. Our plan is to empower these people by giving them a viable skill that will invariably provide them with sources of livelihood and sustenance.
Our training is absolutely free of charge and at the lowest cost per person. Since we know that these are poor people, we do not intend to lay on unnecessary financial burden on them.
Our accessibility is also worth mentioning, in that the training institute is within the community, and trainees do have to travel far to attend classes.
This vocational training will provide trainees with a business model after graduating. In every idea that is being taught in this institute is a potential opportunity to market same and turn it to a source of income. We shall as a matter of importance inculcate in every trainee the wide range of business perspectives and opportunities that lies in what they are learning and give them practicable guidelines on how to go about it. For instance, the baking of cake and other catering services provides the trainees with a ready business model that they can market and make income from. Virtually everyday in this part of the world, there are celebrations and social events that take place, a cake is a major features of most of these events.

In our visibility studies of the causes of poverty, joblessness and underdevelopment, we discovered that if these people can be gainfully engaged in a profitable venture, they can be liberated. So giving them a proficient vocational training will go a long way improve their financial wellbeing. Many of them like to be trained in one skill or the other, but because of the heavy charges placed on learning such, they cannot apply to be trained. Our project presents them with a free fee training and also qualitative one. Experts in the various fields will be brought in as tutors and trainers.
Our main target is primarily the vulnerable and indigent groups viz poor women and young girls. Many of whom are half illiterates, single mothers, widows and underprivileged people. The government of the day is not doing anything to help these vulnerable people, and with a project like ours a long-term relief and succour has come to them.
Our project will definitely expose our trainees to digital and internet uses. In that, further research and continuous learning for trending ideas and styles will be encouraged. In order to meet up with customer's expectations, we shall continue to research more and more.
We provide source of livelihood and sustenance for graduates after our training.
We also provide them with a quality training at no cost per person.
Since our primary target is the vulnerable viz the poor and half illiterates, access and content of this knowledge and training will be made adequate and simple for easy understanding.
Also experts trainers who are well experienced in the inculcating this sort of training will be brought on board to train the trainees.
Entrance to this institute does not include formal education, and to succeed in the training will not require it either (although it could be an added advantage).

Although currently our project is not serving anyone yet, we do have targeted numbers in the short-term and long-term plans.
In a year's time beginning from when we fully kick start, we are targeting 100 persons consisting mainly of vulnerable women and young girls.
In our five years plan, we are targeting between 700 & 1,000 beneficiaries of this training.
We strongly believe that with the acquisition of the right vocational skills, beneficiaries will upon graduation be able to be self reliant and achieve their own personal goal. After graduating, we shall from time to time be checking on them to know how they are fairing.
Graduates of our institute can still be consulting with us even after graduation.
We intend that when our trainees are with us, dignity and integrity of service will be inculcated in them so that even after graduation, that trademark will never leave them.
Our barriers are mainly financial, as running this lofty vision requires lots of financial resources to start and sustain it.
Also technical and material barriers is spotted. This training will involve alot of practical sessions and adequate technical and material base must be provided
We strongly hope that with the fund coming from this grant we shall be able to solve the large chunk of the financial barriers.
And with the required financial resources, technical and material problems are half solved
