Worthi
The work landscape is changing rapidly. As part of this transition, there’s a growing need for individuals to stay up-to-date with in-demand skills. Those who are able to identify and learn in-demand skills will be better positioned to succeed in the modern workforce.
Worthi is a free tool that identifies which of your skills are in demand and connects you with online courses to strengthen those skills and empower your professional growth. Worthi can also identify how your skills transfer to new opportunities and what skills you’ll need to make the transition.
With Worthi, our goal is to provide individuals with the ability to take control of their professional development. By scaling Worthi to reach a vast segment of population, we can do a small part in enabling people to add skills and better navigate the ever-changing job market, driving growth and economic progress throughout the country.
Around 50M Americans are unemployed today as of this writing and for many the jobs they had prior to pandemic are not coming back. At the same time, a McKinsey survey found that the spread of COVID-19 has accelerated a digital transformation where nearly 83% of surveyed executives have reported faster adoption of automation in the new work-from-home, digital environment. This newfound dependency on digital skills and the latest technology, coupled with pandemic-induced job loss, has underscored the importance of realigning workers and their skills to match with the new realities–and opportunities–of the economy. The future of work is increasingly becoming skills based. Who gets hired, who stands out, who moves ahead all will depend on the skills that people have in their geography. The pandemic is accelerating the imperative to have future-ready skills. To prosper during the recovery, workers need to know what skills will get them into their next good job—and how to keep building skills to get the job after that.”
As millions of Americans find themselves at home contemplating their career and next steps, there has never been a more important time to drive more awareness and provide more resources to skills-based learning.
Worthi analyzes more than 1,800 occupations and 17,000 skills to find the most valuable skills in desired professions. By answering a few questions about work experience, Worthi users receive personalized, market-specific insights to help inform career development. The Worthi tool’s features include:
Explore New Roles: Provides insight into existing skills that can be applied to new roles; recommendations for the specific skills needed to transition to new roles; and salary information, demand, average educational experience and top companies hiring for comparable roles
Salary Meter: Allows users to compare current salaries with the market average based on location and occupation
Grow My Skills: Shows users the top skills in demand for roles and the skills that could increase earning potential
Resources: Connects users with free online courses to acquire the career-broadening skills that can help them grow in their current role or transition into something new
Worthi pretty much serves mid career professionals who are looking to either upskill to grow in their existing careers or looking to change their careers in alternate occupations.
We have done user research to understand the different personas that can we serve and so far we are focussed on Advancers and Switchers.
By offering a unique skills based lens to an occupation, Worthi can distill whether the user has a skill that is demand in their current location or show them where they can move based on the skill demand. It also shows them skills that they can acquire through our network of online courses.
- Increase access to high-quality, affordable learning, skill-building, and training opportunities for those entering the workforce, transitioning between jobs, or facing unemployment
We believe Worthi has the potential to upskill tens of millions of Americans by connecting them with online courses to further their career potential. By bringing transparency into the opaque labor market which is right now only accessible to the HR departments, we are democratizing access to this space by giving individuals an ability to peruse skills in demand and acquire them.
