Aiva Voice-Powered Care Assistant
Patients use Aiva to communicate hands-free with their front-line health workers.
From refugee camps to inner-city hospitals, healthcare's missing link is communication. Patients are separated from front-line health workers by distance, language and cultural differences. In many cases, the obstacle is sheer ignorance of how to access existing resources -- who to contact about what malady or issue. Millions of medical problems are untreated or mistreated because patients weren't able to communicate when they needed to most.
Aiva helps solve communication issues at healthcare's frontline by giving patients hands-free access to their ecosystem of caregivers. At hospitals, clinics or homes, you simply tell the Aiva voice assistant what you need. Aiva understands and triages your request to the mobile device of the most appropriate caregiver. For example, requests for transportation can go to a transit provider, refill orders to the pharmacist; reports of labor pains to a doula and heart pain to the closest urgent care facility. Those care providers can then respond instantly with text or voice messages back, letting the patient know that help is on the way and possibly adding additional instructions.
Aiva will also be able to translate on the fly; patients will be able to ask for help in one language and caregivers view that request in another.
Lastly, Aiva can push out information and voice messages to patients, so caregivers can educate patients on their conditions and treatment plans, and remind them to see their doctor and give their baby the right medicine.
Aiva puts patients in closer touch with frontline health services and makes sure their questions and requests go to the right person right away. By taking minutes, hours, even days out of their search for care, Aiva will help millions live healthier lives.
- Effective and affordable healthcare services
- Coordination of care
Aiva improves upon existing voice technology from Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to bend it to the particular needs of patients and frontline caregivers.
Aiva's AI maps requests to the correct caregiver, who can then use our unique mobile app to respond and manage their tasks around helping the patient.
Deploy to hundreds of facilities. Continue to gather usage data to develop predictive and actionable analytics for frontline health workers.
Embed Aiva where it's needed most -- in underserved environments where communication issues take the steepest toll on health. This will mean adding as many languages as possible and adapting our workflows and content to local needs.
- US and Canada
We market Aiva through word of mouth, events and search/social advertising.
We just launched Aiva at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center here in Los Angeles. We started with 6 rooms, and Cedars has decided to expand to another 8 rooms after positive feedback from patients and caregivers.
We hope to reach thousands of patients by this time next year and 100s of thousands within 3 years. We'll serve them both directly (consumers buying voice assistants) and through their care facilities.

We have more than 20 combined years in digital health experience, as well as experience abroad in Asia and Latin America.
Aiva charges facilities a simple monthly fee per device and is currently free for consumers who already have a voice assistant. We've built a sales pipeline of more than US$10M, as facilities benefit from additional revenue tied to better outcomes and lower costs tied to greater efficiencies.
Aiva has greatly benefited from collaborative networks like our Techstars program at Cedars-Sinai and MATTER in Chicago. Interacting with industry experts, academics, geeks and other entrepreneurs breeds the best solutions. By the same token, we love to share back our insights and experience with others, hopefully advancing their work as well.
Healthcare is a huge industry. While Aiva can help patients in any care environment, we need to focus where we can do the best. Solve can connect to domain experts, potential partners and potential customers who can help us achieve that focus.
