Basic Information
Our tagline:
Outbound offers a data-drive Global Opportunity Assistant for innovators from underrepresented regions, with focus on startups, and innovative SMEs.
Our pitch:
The future of humanity is urban: deeply connected hubs of large cities within metropolitan corridors scattered all around the world, and trying hard to rationally manage its limited resources to support an ever increasing population of citizens. Do the cities of today already have the resources to sustain such an exponential growth? The answer is a plain NO. I'm passionate about harnessing the power of new technologies, specially augmented intelligences (human-machine hybrid cognition) to optimize the access and distribution of opportunities and resources (natural and man-made) to all citizens in this planet.
How can we optimize global resources so that the human (super)population from the next decades can access to the right opportunities to develop their talents, to work on significant jobs, and contribute to the greater good, without perpetuating the structures of social inequality emanating from the current money gap that impacts and restricts the possibilites of growth for underrepresented groups?
Our bet is on building an intelligent system capable of to tracking, identifying and organizing all global resources and opportunities for growth, a smart and organic 'prosperity database' made comprehensible, and accessible through an universal (and empathetic) humanoid interface. Putting it simply: an artificially intelligent assistant for global opportunities matchmaking tailored to help underrepresented innovators and leaders reach out for a piece of the abundant opportunities flourishing within prosper hubs and regions. The goal is to we use Big Data and AI to share overflowing high-end opportunities and resources from established hubs with more out-of-the-spotlight talents, hacking‚ and prosperity.

About Your Solution
What makes our solution innovative:
We might have conflict of interest with more innovative startup accelerators, but the exclusive Sponsorship model we've created, an equity-free real-time diligence that works as a 'trial' period between both company, and investor, put us ahead when it comes to innovation in the core business itself.
Finally, startup/innovation platforms like Crunchbase, Gust etc., might have vaster database on deals, investors, and startups globally, but they don't actively hold a matching strategy, and so far, they had shown no interest on deepening their work outside established tech hubs, a perfect opportunity for us.

How technology is integral to our solution:
We scrape the world wide web with the support of intelligent bots to analyze millions of data points, and find growth opportunities globally (new clients, markets, funding opportunities, awards etc.).
The more we grow the efficiency, and accuracy of our matchmaking tool, the more we succeed, and generate room for exponential growth, dropping the overall cost of operation (by leveraging the project managers efficiency and capacities) and increasing clients outreach.
As our database grows, we will be able to generate predictive analytics that would give an even more sophisticated growth tool to our underrepresented innovators.

Our solution goals over the next 12 months:
TOP 3 Goals 2019:
1. Reach the goal of having 150 startups/companies within our platform, not considering possible new operations abroad;
2. Consolidating the Beta version of our Opportunity Radar technology;
3. Generate U$10mm+ in deals globally with the support of our techology

Our vision over the next three to five years to grow and scale our solution to affect the lives of more people:
Outbound wants right away to apply the combo AI+Big Data to develop, and train an intelligent autonomous system capable of scraping the internet, and various databases to find, and organize opportunities for talented innovators worldwide who are, in general, hardly aware of them.
Our mission is to empower any talented individual or team far away from global innovation clusters to ideate, construct and market high-end products and services, breaking free of regional constraints and external limitations put by scarce and poorly distributed opportunities,
'hacking' meritocracy by decentralizing opportunities through technology, and hopefully helping to reshape the global economy supply chain.

The regions where we will be operating in the next 12 months:
- Latin America and the Caribbean
How we will reach and retain our customers or beneficiaries:
Innovators such as SMEs, Startups, researchers don't pay anything to be part of our Opportunity Radar, it's all paid for by our exclusive Sponsorship model, an innovative approach that allows for companies, and people to sponsor the work of distinct innovators, receiving in return a participation in all the deals cut with our help, and a Right of Preference in the event of a funding round (the program is equity-free by principle, so it maintains a fair founder-friendly approach from the start).
How many people we are currently serving with our solution:
We currently have 15 startups, and innovators within our platform, sponsored by 5 Brazilian thought leaders. Among those startups, we have Moeda, a cooperative crypto-bank that raised U$20mm on an ICO in 2017; Husky, a blockchain-based remittance platform that with our help identified a promising opportunity on M&A operations..
We are now also using our platform to assess different funding opportunities for our portfolio, from small debt investing to a U$5mm Series A for an Agritech startup from our portfolio.

About Your Team
How our solution team is organized:
- For-Profit
The skills our solution team has that will enable us to attract the different resources needed to succeed and make an impact:
Rom Justa founded the company, and is the CEO today. Outbound Initiative was born from his personal experiences and the greater difficulty he faced in developing or scaling businesses within emerging regions (Brazil, Latin America, EMEA) compared to doing the same within established global innovation ecosystems (Silicon Valley, London Tech, Berlin, Tel Aviv).
Our revenue model:
Outbound currently has a multicultural team focused on optimizing an artificially intelligent Prosperity Manager/Assistant that offers personalized data-driven guidance to access global opportunities and resources for startups, SMEs, and distinct innovators, specially within underrepresented regions, where such value proposition is needed the most, and will only increase in necessity as new regional innovation hubs emerge.
Our pilot in Brazil was launched in 2017 and was able to generate U$ 21 millions in TOTAL results directly or indirectly influenced by our data-driven guidance to opportunities matching. That includes sales, fundraising (one particularly successful ICO back in 2017), partnerships etc.
Our solution has the potential to evolve to a white label solution (or a SaaS solution) that manages opportunities for specific groups of innovators under determined circunstancies. Such is the case today, since Outbound is discussing with the biggest Development Bank from LatAm about how to apply the Sponsorship method, and utilize our technology to manage their strategic portfolio of Venture Capital, and in, some cases, Private Equity.

Partnership Potential
Why we are applying to Solve:
The number one priority for Outbound is improving its MVP, so we will invest the prize to finish the beta of our Opportunity Radar, capable of categorizing and organizing millions of data points detected around the internet.
We do believe that the MVP will have to be outsourced due to its complexity, but we would also build a small data team (1 senior and 2-3 juniors) to start managing the Data necessities, and strategy.
Our marketing works much more on the PR level, so any investment on the field would be put on effective high level social selling activities.

The key barriers for our solution:
Challenges: assembling the right Data Science strategy + team and tech to enable data mining and structuring of severely opaque and unstructured data. We might need a great amount of users inputs to feed the databases for emerging regions. We can manage this risk by always maintaining our 'boots on the ground' regardless of our digital valeu proposition, having a minimal local management team to gather, and validate secondary data. After reaching a critical mass of information input, our ML algorithms would have a better chance of autonomously match the best global opportunities to each of our innovators.
