Basic Information
Our tagline:
Developing a mobile platform for Migrant Workers & Native Doctors to improve quality of care and productivity
Our pitch:
The problem:
There are about 7 million foreign workers living in Malaysia. Despite the finest health infrastructures and facilities of the country the foreign workers are unable to access the quality service due to three major barriers.
1. Language- most of the workers are illiterate and cannot explain their health problems in Malay or English to the doctors. For this reason many do not visit the health facilities.
2. The cost of the consultation is higher for the foreigners so it directly hits their pocket.
3.60% of the workers do not have any legal document and prevented from accessing any health services legally.
The enabling factors for solution to these problems are:
More than 75% Smartphone usage among these workers.
Very good spending behavior for communicating with friends and family using different social media Apps.
Availability of native countrymen shops as hub for meeting and different activities including remittance.
Malaysia also has a Telemedicine Act which is supportive for implementing the idea.
Our solution:
We developed the web based Tele-health platform which can be easily accessed on their Smart phones to consult their native doctors at an affordable rates. Both documented and un-documented workers can access these services as long as they have the Smart phones. They can explain their problems easily and get the medical advice. This helps them to take preventive care and keep themselves fit for work thereby increasing the income. On the other hand, the employers are able to increase the productivity with a healthy workforce.

About Your Solution
What makes our solution innovative:
Our Unique Selling Point and competitive advantage is that we have addressed the Language barrier of the Migrant Workers and our platform addresses that problem where as others do not. However, we also realize that they can compete in future where they can be a threat. In that scenario we look forward to collaboration with bigger local companies who would take the advantage of the first mover.
How technology is integral to our solution:
Smartphone accesible-- healthcare services at their finger tips thereby saving time, money, and employment.
We see that in future the use of technology will increase among the workers as they get the benefits of the service. There will be increased awareness of the platform, increased use of smart phone. The device marketers may join the business to market their product in collaboration with us.

The regions where we will be operating in the next 12 months:
- East and Southeast Asia
How we will reach and retain our customers or beneficiaries:
We have started with migrant workers in Bangladesh that send huge remittances back home, which could be increased if workers were provided improved health care. Many workers do not take the health care due to language, cost and legal issues. This population often lacks access to digital services and the economy due to a lack of knowledge.
Our Tele-health solution brings these migrants to use the digital platform and create awareness about the benefits of digital technology. More number of people join our platform as health care is a basic need for everyone.

How many people we are currently serving with our solution:
Information about the service provided to 10,000 Bangladeshi migrant workers. Of these, 1,500 have registered for the service, and 200 workers have taken the health service.
~15 qualified doctors are providing services online, which opened up new economic opportunity for them.
40 sales agents engaged in selling the top-up for the services to users, thereby creating new job opportunities in the country both in foreign and home.

We have analyzed the legislation of the country specific to the Health services and found native doctors for that particular country who can provide the service.
We are engaging more sales agents in the foreign country the workers live in and call agents in the home country to comply with legal issues. In terms of Doctors there are limit to it so we have developed an innovative model where the foreign doctors could be used with the help of the native doctors from the home countries of the workers. This model can easily be implemented and expanded. Thereby increasing the effectiveness of our services.
