Brooke Brutley is the CEO and founder of Guiding Paths - Thought Bubble (solution), INC a community based home that provides 24 hour care for clients who have a mental illness and intellectual disability. Brutley, is currently working on healthcare solutions to improve the quality of care provided to clients through effective monitoring, guidance and positive reinforcement. As well as streamlining patient records upkeep among support staff. She is promoting and optimizing mental wellness behavioral health access and engagement in all care settings to develop measurable outcomes, overall wellness and solutions for decreasing the overall cost of care to the healthcare industry. Brutley developed several apps for her businesses that engages the customer experience and provides easy access. Brutley has over 15 years of experience working with people with health challenges, 19 years working with the federal government in procurement, budget, human resource, project management, Information technology and reporting.

The United States spends upward 11,000 per person a year on health care expense. Americans who are ill are plagued with the daunting task of going to the hospital and spending an extensive amount of time in exams, waiting on slow test results and possibly infecting others. Healthcare professionals often struggle with being overexerted, working with incomplete and missing patient records, billing issues, and subpar post-treatment care. There is also a growing concern with the current electronic health records (EHRs). As a result, healthcare professionals spend less time making eye contact with the patients and focusing on their care and a substantial amount of time on claims, data entry, identify community resources and support services that are available to aid these patients. Our technology will elevate humanity by arming healthcare professionals with better tools for instantly updating and accessing patient records, behavior resource options and facilitating synchronization of post-treatment care.

We are working to close the gaps within the healthcare system and delivering an affordable solution to all consumers globally that will lower healthcare expenses and allow consumers to have more control over their health and provide greater support to the healthcare community. Millions round the world is affected by the healthcare crisis. Over 44 million Americans lack healthcare and 38 million has inadequate healthcare. The healthcare community is in desperate need of change. People have little to no faith or trust in the healthcare system do to not having access to equal healthcare service, access to treatments, accessibility to testing, lack of quality care for services, long wait and processing time at hospital before being seen and limited testing options for sick patients at home. There is also a shortage of professionals and those who are available is overworked and under invested in healthcare service, care is too expensive, the industry has numerous billing issues, sanitation issues in many parts of the world, doesn't have better resources that provide quick test results and treatment options, doesn't have epidemic preparedness measures in place and is consistently working with missing or incomplete patient records. Healthcare is dying and needs revision.

We are developing and test a screening device to detect potential health disorder or diseases through the tele-health platform. This direct-to-consumer (DTC) self testing option will allow people to record patterns in their brain, monitor vitals, collect urine, saliva, blood, and swab samples from home and automatically upload them to a screening device that will provide results in minutes. Once the results have been provided, patient records and files will automatically be updated in real time and physicians will be notified if test results require therapy, treatment, and monitoring or lifestyle changes. Through the cloud-based software that encourages the distribution of resources among healthcare professionals. Innovative machine learning technology will extract information from reputable sources to be available at a glance. Algorithm will identify relationships within the healthcare community by facilitating data exchange and gathering the maximum amount of resources available to the healthcare community on one platform. Healthcare professionals will be able to share encrypted patient records, input data that will update all corresponding files automatically in real time which will help the claims and billing process to move more quickly and effectively minimizing the chances of billing error, missing billing and fraudulent claims

The target population we are looking to reach is middle and lower class who are not always fortunate enough to have access to the care others may have. We are looking to improve the life  of everyone around the world globally. This solution is not designed to leave anyone out. I am on a mission to help everyone leaving no one behind. I am conducting surveys that ask the tough questions about healthcare needs. Asking those who healthcare affect the most, people like me and people with mental disabilities, mental illness, people with chronic conditions and the elderly community. This solution will address their need by giving them more control over their health and giving them access to tools to improve their health by simply giving them information and instant resources they didn’t have before. Being informed is a vital tool as it helps us make changes to our lives that could possible reverse and change to outcome of our overall health.

The challenge we face in the healthcare community today is not an easy one to solve and given all we have lost during COVID-19, it is imperative to unite and work on measurable solutions to the problems that lie before us so we can have a better quality of life for all. The solutions and target population I’ve identified, personify the current challenges we face because they address all problems we look to provide solutions on with this innovation in hopes to make this life and the life that supersede us better for all.

Guiding Paths – Thought Bubble started this company because of her first hand experience with caring for family members and close friends who struggle with mental illness and intellectual disability. Brutley became passionate about helping those who were unable to help themselves, when she discovered how many people struggled with this diagnoses. She recalled the challenges she faced while caring for her brother who although was not born with an intellectual disability, now struggles with a similar diagnoses brought on from a brain injury from an accident. She remembered how she felt as she cared for him and how alone she felt through it all. Brutley realized these families needed help because she walked a mile in their shoes and knew how overwhelming it can be and decided to research other alternatives for helping these clients and their families have a better quality of life. Thought Bubble was created as a solution that would not only help this group of people both the entire healthcare community in general.

The healthcare crisis is important to us especially now during Covid-19 because we can all see when the system is not uniform or functional there can be many casualties. There is no reason why the sick is not getting testing and treatment they need to survive. Healthcare should not only be for those who can afford it but for all that need it. We believe in inclusion for all not just those who are privileged. We understand there are illnesses that make us different from others but it does not make us better and ignorant to those struggling because it does not directly affect us. We a passionate about Thought Bubble because we know with the development of this solution, lots of people will get the assistance they need and be able to have more control over their own health. My project means hope for someone who thought there was no other options. Guiding Paths is not just your typical institution. We are one, valuable and have a contribution to
this life. We are a corporation of people caring for individuals who are
just like us and Though Bubble is the solution that will unite the
systems together.

Brutley is well-positioned to deliver this project as she has successfully open and ran several businesses on her own while developing several apps, creating websites and software, business plans, pitch decks, proposals, budget reports, project management, etc. While working with individuals with mental illness and intellectual disabilities, she identified several obstacles with progress note, file records, billing and accessibility to testing. Brutley has over 15 years of experience working with people with health challenges and is familiar with the issues they face on the daily bases. Having this working knowledge enables her to have a better understanding of what is needed to improve the system and benefit those who have been excluded.

Guiding Paths was presented with a difficult challenge that was caused as a result of the current crisis and decided to help those who need help the most. We received several emails from individuals telling us how as a result of Covid-19 pandemic, they are now homeless and having a mental illness was causing problems trying to locate people that will take a chance on them to rent a room. So we decided to convert some rental property inventory to low and affordable room rentals that are fully furnished, covers all the utilities, provides groceries and light toiletries monthly to help them out. We also decided to use our other businesses and services to provide the tenants with a welcome care package, transportation through our rideshare company if needed and other support services we provide free of charge. We are focused on helping these individuals during this tough time and getting them help so they will be able to gain affordable housing and financial support in the long run to get back on their feet. We have decided to permanently integrate this service into Guiding Path – Though Bubble as this falls in line with our mission of helping all.

While working for the federal government I discovered a glitch in the accounting software. I pointed out the issue to the programmers and worked with them to create quick reference guides that gave users a work around option to mitigate the issue until new software was developed. As a result of my diligence to research and analyze this glitch, I identified several transactions over the course of several years that was not being reporting accurately which lead to the creation of a team, I was assigned to be the leader of that was tasked with submitting supplemental reports correcting the inaccurate reports. Thought-out my career I was known as the detective because it didn’t matter how difficult the problem was, I was always up for the challenge to do the hard work involved to find the problems and resolve them. I believe in leading by example and facing the issues head on without thinking about the cumbersome tasks of what is needed to get the job done. I have over 19 years of experience leading teams of my own companies and an employee. I am always amenable to change, a quick learner and can produce measurable results in any conditions.

Currently there are no competitors in this market that is providing the same type of solution I am offering or is trying to address the same issues I am aiming to address. There are companies that have test devices that can be used at home for concentrated testing like blood testing, swabs cultures, urine test  and monitoring kits but most of these tests are individual devices or kits and some require you to send your sample into a lab to be tested. None of these solutions update to patient records automatically. Our solution is unique because it is an all in one test device that allows you to test and monitor your health and every time you connect to this device your vitals and history automatically update to the patients records so your doctor can instantly have access to your medical history.

We expect my solution to have an impact on the problem we’ve identified because there is currently nothing in the market that has address this issues in its entirety. We’ve researched this issue, conducted surveys and gathered the tools we need to form output. We have examined my short terms goals of this dilemma by deconstructed the problem and identify the most imperative issue we currently face, lack of medical testing, record upkeep and need for social distancing to help prevent the spread of disease to construct a medium term goal that will provide a construct of change. These activities will allow me to permanently provide a solution that will be a long term outcome for those who need it.

Until my solution has a prototype, I’m currently not serving anyone with my solution however in the following year once we have a prototype we are aiming to be able to provide this solution to 80 percent of consumers and within five years this solution will be in the home of every consumer worldwide.

Within the next year and within the next five years Guiding Paths – Thought Bubble will have testing machine and software in the homes, clinics and hospitals of all Americans that will allow customers to have a viable option that can be the ultimate solution to the healthcare community for optimizing productivity and improve the quality of care for all. Our transitional goal is to also have a scalable program that can be use around the world.

The barriers that Guiding Paths – Thought Bubble is currently facing are raising the funds that are needed start building the prototype and software. Once we have these resources at our disposal, we will be able to hire a technical team to aid in the development and get the product out to market and in the homes and offices of those who need it.

Guiding Paths – Thought Bubble will take every challenge one issue at a time and find measurable solutions that will resolve each issue and improve the overall. We will use research facilities and consultants to aid us in solving any challenge we are not able to face independently. Guiding Path - Thought Bubble would greatly appreciate any assistance that can be provided in the following areas of marketing, media, exposure, funding and revenue model, talent recruitment, mentorship and coaching because we understand the importance of working with individuals who are experienced in this field because it will allow our company to grow further.

Guiding Paths - Thought Bubble are not currently partnered with anyone nor do we have anyone in mind at the present time. However, we would like to collaborate with other in the future if opportunities presents itself. But we are always open to new opportunities as they come along.

We are providing our beneficiaries with a sustainable product that can be used in the safety of their homes that will allow them more control over their healthcare and gives them the ability to have access to testing and service that they did not have before. We are providing software that will allow them to monitor, test and receive results for their health tests immediately and have instant access to all their health records when they need it. Our community is suffering because they do not have the resources they need to live a healthy and productive live, They are denied the testing and services they need to maintain their healthcare isn’t available because they lack the ability to pay for these services. People are dying because they don’t have what they need to survive and they are scared to leave their homes in fear of getting ill. Our healthcare system is in dire need of help, professionals are over excreted, they are working with missing patient records and substantial lag times between updates, lack of testing options, no complete home screening options, not enough quality affordable care to patients that suffer with illness and billing errors that can result in denied claims, fraudulent claims and uncollected revenue from insurance companies. This situation is only getting worst and without change the system will eventually collapse. Our product will help people live again.

Guiding Paths – Thought Bubble will bring in funds through grants and donations to fund this project. Once the product is complete, we will be able to sell the devices and software with monthly subscription that will allow us to continue to pay for any expected expenses and updates to the devices and software. As well as future upgrades and modifications in the long term.

Guiding Paths – Thought Bubble have not raised any funds from outside sources. We have used our own personal finances to fund our project so far.

Guiding Paths – Thought Bubble is applying for the Elevate Prize because know about the  challenge we all face in the healthcare community today and we know it is not an easy one to solve and given all we have lost during COVID-19, it is imperative to unite and work on measurable solutions to the problems that lie before us so we can have a better quality of life for all. The system should not be designed for those who can afford it but for everyone who needs help regardless of your financial ability. We want to close these gaps and provide people with the tools they need to manage and monitor their healthcare safety so they can have a better quality of life.
