I am professionally qualified in Mass Communication from Madurai Kamaraj University, studied from Ghandigram rural health Institute and also I have been trained from NIPCCD, Govt. of India and got certificate on Mgmt. of welfare agencies. I am specially trained on agriculture, men and ecology from ETC of Netherlands. I am IEC expert on water and sanitation and one of the master trainers and evaluator for projects of govt. and NGOs. More than 32 years of experience in rural development and now working as a executive director for ISSI from 1986.

The children of rural communities are not able to get quality education in govt schools. Because most of the Govt schools having only one teacher, one teacher teach all subjects for more than 50 children.
we have propose to start a project for the children to get quality education and other skills through our evening alternative education centers .
The adolescent girls are not able to continue their education after first menstrual.Due to social control and poor income of the parents they are not able to go for higher education.
Lack of awareness on hygienic menstrual management, many girls are affecting by infections.
Our project for empowerment of adolescent girls , we are supporting the girls by distribution of educational material and cloths which will help them to continue their education and give education for prevention of infection. Help them to make napkin and use during menstrual periods.
Lack of opportunity for rural poor children studying in govt school are not able to get quality education and Lack of knowledge on prevention of health problems
- Lack of opportunity to rural poor adolescent girls to go for higher studies after primary school education. Lack of awareness on health and unaware of hygienic menstrual management.
- 90% of the children are in rural areas and their parents are economically poor. The same problem in all region of India and same situation in developing countries.
- The problem of adolescent girls are similar in all states of India and developing countries nearly 95% of girls in India are not get opportunity to go for higher education due to social system /control , culture and poor economic condition of the parents .
- In our working /target areas,1500 children of 300 poor parents in 10 villages are badly affected.
- 600 girls of 300 families in the 10 villages are facing the problems .
- The following factors contributing to the problem relate to our project Illiteracy and poor economic condition of the parents,un aware of many health problems and prevention ,lack of opportunity rom other sources for improving the skills of the children and girls empowerment

- Project activities for adolescent girls:
- Distribution of educational materials and cloths which will help the parents to accept their girls children to continue their education and also our special teacher give coaching to the girls for their educational development.
- Periodically contacted health education and hygienic management and also Practical training was given to make napkin and motive them to use , which will prevent infection.
The project will serve directly the children and adolescent girls of dalit and de-notified tribes. They are socially and economically backward .Most of the parents of the are illiterate , land less labors, daily wage earners and some families are as bonded labors in the brick kilns .The de-notified tribes are farm workers ,hunting rats in the farms and eat.Based on our baseline survey we identified the problems. Through focus interview method and group discussion with the parents and community leaders, we have realized the problems and we drived some ideas from them to solve the problems. Based on PRA, we have finalized the action plan to solve the problems .we have engaged community involvement in the every step of project planning , implementation ,periodical monitoring and impact evaluation.The project will address the following needs
1.Start alternative education center to teach quality education and improve the skills of the children. Impart WASH education to adopt good hygienic practices and prevent diseases 2.Promote awareness on reproductive health and hygienic menstrual management among adolescent girls by health education.Impart practical skills to make low cost napkins and motivation to use for prevention of infections .

Our project is very much align with the selected dimension.
Our communities are traditionally left behind . Mostly uneducated ,socially economically backward and following many superstitions. we will address the following dimensions also.

Our project will building awareness on need of quality education for children and higher education for girls which will solve the problems locally and globally
3rd dimension: The project will change mind set and behavior of community to give opportunity for the girls to get higher education and adopt hygienic menstrual management by girls . girl to girl ,approach will bring the change effectively.
Two years back ,we have contacted baseline survey in 20 villages in pudukkottai district .We have involved local young women and our volunteers of the villages ,to contacted the baseline service followed group discussion with the group girls and women group about the data regarding educational of children and lack of opportunity for the girls to continue their education after primary school education and health problems and infections due to lack of awareness on hygienic management then we organize a orientation with girls ,parents and community leaders to discuss the problems based on their interest and some ideas of the groups because of the interest an understood of the problems of children and adolescent groups ,initially our ideas began to solve the problem through community based action.
We like to address the specific problems for the following reasons
1.Our team members are living same area for many years we have observed the problems understood their difficulties directly by mutual talking with the groups .
2.all our team members are belongs to above said communities and know the problem of the children and adolescent girls .
3.Morally and we feeling with communities we are motivated and passionate about the project to help the children and girls of our communities.
We are well position to undertake the project and implement the activities effectively .
1.We are gross-root level communities supporting NGOs .so we are very comfortable to work close with the community and project .we are working more than 32 years in the area through various projects .
2.We already working with the villages for promoting women groups empowerment ,vocational for training for youth groups so is very convenient and better possibility to work successfully for the project .
3.We are having core staffs and volunteers in the some locations.All our staffs are educationally well qualified , trained and having more than 5 years of experience in social work activities.so we can work in a better way with we feeling attitude and affection .
4.our office is in the same location with needed infrastructure .They delivered the immediate needs of the communities in the past and giving relief services for the victims of covid-19.

Our propose project is unique and innovative.
Innovation 1: Our activity on promotion of quality education for children of traditionally very backward by alternative education center to promote quality education and improvement varies skills of children through special volunteer teacher teach subjects,moral education and distribution of educational material for education development of rural poor children.Our center will give a opportunity for the children to play and games,improve the skill on singing and dancing/drawing etc.,The above said opportunity are not available for the children in the govt.schools.
Innovation 2:The adolescent girls in our region have no opportunity to continue for higher education.Unaware of health problem and affecting by infection during menstrual period.The activity for girls will promote awareness about importants of higher education for the girls,motivate the parents and community leaders to change their behavior and mind set which help the girls to get chances go for higher education.Our education material and cloth distribution for the girls will reduce economic problem of poor parents and accept the girls to continue the education .
Our preventive health care education will help the girls to prevent the health problems and prevent infection by hygienic menstrual management.
our practical training to the girls on making napkin and motivation to use napkin will prevent infections during menstrual period.
All our project activities are community based promote by local volunteers and achieve the goals by innovative activites and approach.

Finance only a barrier for our project within in next year and within 5 years.Some cultural barrier which will overcome easily by our community rapport and our relationship with all project beneficiaries.
The barrier on finance will be solved by mobilize of funds from funding agencies and companies .we hope,we will get support from elevate prize program.

Our project is very similar with dimension of Elevate Prize which support the community left behind and their children have no chance for quality education of economically rural poor our project is based on human values and dignity.It is a project serve the humanity to empower by education and health improvement of children and adolescent girl.
So,our project is align with priority and goal of elevate prize.We belive,we are eligible to apply for the prize.
