UMass COVID-19 Suppression R&D
Principle Investigator Professor Levkowitz is the Chairman of the Computer Science Department at UMass Lowell (UML).
Project Coordinator Glenn Weinreb is the founder of Manhattan 2 (ww.manhattan2.org), a 501c3 non-profit. Weinreb also founded GW Instruments (gwinst.com) in 1985, a company that designs and manufactures data acquisition hardware and software products.
Levkowitz wants to develop pandemic fighting tools with a $1.1M 90 day fast-track surge R&D initiative; and is looking for financial support.
He wants to create software tools and training videos for police, National Guard and other personnel to administer tests. This would be a force multiplier for the tests since it would increase the number of people that work with them, perhaps dramatically.
For more information, please see the below links to: Professor Levkowitz’s 6 page proposal, an article in EE World Magazine on this initiative, a video interview of Project Coordinator Glenn Weinreb (gWeinreb@Manhattan2.org) discussing the initiative, and an endorsement letter from Congressman Joe Kennedy III.
