Amalgama Desarrollo
Passionate about turning the world into a better place. As part of the luckiest 1% of the world, I feel the responsibility to help others through my work and creativity.
I have always had many questions, which has led me throughout my training to look for extracurricular activities that develop skills that are not learned in the classroom. For me, not only is the technical part important, but also the humanistic one, so I am very interested in developing a career in management, leadership and entrepeneurship.
Content creator on social networks with six years of experience with more than 30,000 followers on Instagram and 180,000 on other platforms. Publicity and communication with the user working for numerous brands worldwide.
I have developed a project for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, by designing a toy specialized in increasing empathy and emotional control. I'm a Mechanical & Industrial Design Engineer.
Amalgama is a web platform to manage youth internships in social projects.
The aim is to create a synergy between young people and local social projects: young people will provide motivation to make a change in their community. Furthermore, they will gain experience in the world of social entrepreneurship and valuable skills for their future.
Amalgam Development is the solution that solves both needs (young people without experience and social projects without financing), taking the current economic crisis as an opportunity to create a social fabric that puts human beings at the center.
It is based on a double market need that is complemented: On the one hand, numerous young recent graduates or students of higher studies who are eagerly looking for an opportunity in which to use their skills and knowledge and accumulate business experience. At the same time, there are numerous social entrepreneurship projects that are lacking in qualified personnel because they do not have financing. Amalgam satisfies the connection between the two groups, providing young people with experience in the business world while carrying out activities that have a social impact in the community.
Our core activity is to put at the service of society a platform that connects these two types of clients: qualified young people and social projects that take place in the community. Furthermore, we propose a unique methodology for the selection of candidates and projects, as well as for their monitoring.
The key activities will be those necessary for the maintenance and management of the connection platform between social projects and young talent. The process will be iterative, receiving information, analyzing it, and acting accordingly, improving the methodology. In addition, personalized customer service will be offered and you will be constantly searching for new projects, market research and continuous improvement. There will also be events, talks and debates, to always be at the forefront of innovation.
Our first clients will be students or graduates of university studies from the universities of Seville (US, UPO), who we will reach through the RRSS and events at the university. They will look for young people in final university courses, or graduates, committed to society and volunteer activities.
It has been estimated, through a Sales Funnel, that the number of direct beneficiaries would be around 30,000 people ONLY in Spain: potential clients, young people and those interested in participating in this type of project. The number of indirect beneficiaries is multiplied by bringing social projects to reality, by all the vulnerable groups that benefit from each one of them.
- Elevating understanding of and between people through changing people’s attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors
What sets Amalgama Desarrollo apart is fostering a feeling of community, educating future generations to develop models in which the economy works for people. We will create professional opportunities from social projects, so young talent can put their skills and knowledge in favor of society. Our proposal is to achieve this through the “Learn by Doing” learning methodology in an environment that is committed to sustainability and innovation. In addition to a unique platform to unite these two customer segments mentioned above.
The initiative arises from three young people from Seville who are active in volunteering and other social projects, who would like to formalize these activities in their CV. As the situation worsens due to COVID-19, the team is enlarged with two acquaintances from the team who complete the necessary skills for the creation of a company.
Right now we are carrying out a project for the Arroyomolinos town of León (Huelva) with the company Almanatura.
The challenge of this project is to evaluate a model of the Rural World of the Future: possibilities and opportunities to generate predisposition and sensitivity towards this topic, generating an opportunity to aspire to. For this, the productive resources and the consumption model must be reorganized, generating a local economy and decentralizing the technology of the cities.
After graduating high school with honors I won the prize to the best expedient of Science and Technology, so I went to Seville to study a Double Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design Engineering. My passion is making the world a better place, and I’m very curious, so during my university period I’ve been participating in a lot of extracurricular activities (Intern in the Physics department, leading a student association, doing a Erasmus of one year in Italy, being the class representative and more). Now I have finished my internship as a Design Engineering in Smurfit Kappa, and next week I will present my thesis. In the quarantine I’ve founded a non-profit startup with some colleagues. After graduating high school with honors I won the prize to the best expedient of Science and Technology, so I went to Seville to study a Double Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design Engineering. Now, as a recent graduate, I'm in the moment to understand the problem of finding a job in this difficult environment for young people. We need more experience.
In Amalgama, the startup I’m creating with 4 colleagues, we’re all new to creating a business and making strategic decisions. We never have data, either of previous experiences or the proper Amalgama. We still haven’t made very big decisions as we’re only starting but I recall we had a bad experience in the first contest we presented our idea to. The winner was an idea in which a member of the jury worked on. So when we found another contest that was a very good opportunity, another colleague didn’t want to bother presenting ourselves, but I did. We didn’t know if it was going to be worth it, obviously, but I offered myself to gather all the information asked and submit it. Now we’re in the final so we’re all participating, even though we don’t know if we’ll win we’re happy to be there.
I was the leader of the communication group in the Industrial Design Student Association in Seville.
One of the members of my team was creating trouble, because of his way of speaking. He was too harsh and too frank in the feedback and his opinions. The other managers brought it to my attention. I proposed we took a cup of coffee and I we spoke about the matter. I told him, kindly, about his way of speaking and that he had to be more politically correct, even though the others made mistakes. We had an open conversation in which he told me about a history in his family and other private matters that were influencing him. He agreed and he said sorry to the others. He increased his performance so much and, the next year, I left him as the manager of communication because of how well he dealt with conflict.

We are transforming reality by connecting trained young people to social entrepreneurship projects, that is, they solve social, cultural and environmental problems. Furthermore, Amalgama contributes visibility to these associations and social projects. This fosters a feeling of community, educating future generations to develop models in which the economy works for people, and not the other way around.
In 3 years we will have a functional website showing vacancies in projects with thousands of registered users, being a reference for volunteering and social extracurricular activities. We would like to have a community that shares its know-how with each other, creating synergies and improving local communities, which could be found through face-to-face and online events. With the experience gained, we would like to be working consulting on sustainability analysis and channeling investments to CSR to companies.
