cmapit software
Niyi Abiri is the co-founder cmapit analytics, we create Low budget but highly efficient Location intelligence software and we also train civil servants, students, communities on adapting and optimizing Location intelligence software we create to forest management, Land management, agriculture and recently contact tracing COVID-19.
Niyi Abiri holds a masters in sustainability and environmental management from the Staffordshire University UK and a business course certificate from the University of Nevada-Reno, US.
Communities in developing countries depend on imports of professionals in data analytics for good governance (usually by NGOs) and this is usually not sustainable and also too expensive and often non-participatory.
cmapit software is a collection of various algorithms that form different features that provides great and cheap alternative for communities in these countries. cmapit software is equipped with simple map creation solution, forest canopy analysis, Land measurement, siting public infrastructure, simplified big data analytics for public health management including contact tracing. cmapit software is highly simplified to use and only requires a few days training.
we believe cmapit software adoption will see the expansion of Literacy on data use form good governance and also ensure the skill gained is highly Localized. communities will be able to build their own Land use database, manage their own forest canopy, identify best areas to Local infrastructure and it will be participatory.
cmapit analytics was created we because we realized the importance of Location intelligence use in poverty reduction effort. From SDG goals to MDG goals Location intelligence is crucial in rapid humanitarian response, poverty mapping, resource identification and allocation, climate change data gathering and more.

Hygiene management in poor communities is also massive challenge usually beyond the Local government. This is where cmapit software came in form some Local governments and NGOs.

cmapit software is built to help communities target their own challenges, understand their challenges and build Local innovation on it while they are also able to communicate with donors and NGOs better.
Also on managing epidemic Like we have seen with COVID-19, cmapit was one of the first Local startups in Nigeria to come through with innovation to Localize contact tracing. [fighting COVID-19 with cmapit analytics: https://businessday.ng/enterpr...]
cmapit software users have grown in the Last 1 year, helping users to run thousands of analytics session monthly and have been used in 71 countries.
cmapit software is multi feature software running different models and algorithms. it helps non-technical users to run complex spatial analytics to achieve quality and acceptable results.
Users are taught on getting their inputs (i.e. the dataset on their subjects or areas they wish to analyze), uploading their inputs and reading their results. Users are highly guided on acquiring the right input and are also thoroughly educated on reading the results.
cmapit has helped Local governments in three southwest states in Nigeria to track the performance of the MDGs projects while we are also working with them on the SDGs;

This helped the Local government office build a database of the projects.
cmapit is also being used by communities for hygiene management;

- Elevating issues and their projects by building awareness and driving action to solve the most difficult problems of our world
cmapit software is helping communities Localize technical skills while it also helps them build Local capacity to manage their resources according to acceptable global standards while they can also communicate their problems better.
During my internship with a world bank implementing agency in Lagos Nigeria, we worked with GIS software on almost all projects. I realized the important of Location intelligence at this point to almost every aspect of governance especially Localizing infrastructure management with data.
I also realized it is too expensive for any Local organization to buy a solution similar to what we have but i know it is very crucial to their work also and they need that Literacy.
Because of this I decided to start a company that will be able to create a Low budget GIS software that will also make governance more efficient and effective at the very Local Level in Nigeria. This is the start of my journey.
Project continued through my masters programme and it eventually got me on a fellowship to the University of Nevada-Reno, United States to Learn more about building crucial solutions Like cmapit to viability.
it provides great software at a very affordable cost and it can boost governance at the very Local Level.
I have 7 years experience as a GIS developer and I have developed GIS software with global traction for big companies and startups.
I have a strong relationship with the wider community of GIS developer as far as Washington DC, I have presented at CARTO office and also met with a founder of Mapbox at the office through a worldbank funded fellowship at ICFJ in Washington DC.
Building a team with cmapit analytics co-founder Shima Doowuese Claire despite the global pandemic and Lockdown;
cmapit analytics team have been most efficient during the Lockdown and most productive contrary to my fears at the declaration of the pandemic. I saw huge challenge with keep my team efficient remotely while we are hundreds of miles apart and also on Low budget of operations, also considering we never expected the pandemic to happen at the beginning of the year.
To resolve this we had to Look for competitions to apply for and to also raise more money to be able to support our operations. So we had no choice than to dedicate our capabilities to creating a solution that works for COVID-19. This was unplanned while we also had project focus for the first half of the year.
Eventually we built a really working software on COVID-19 contact tracing that won us some investment both public and private.
This has given us a huge boost as a company.
Leading by example through pay cuts and increased productivity in the pandemic. I took a pay cut before my team mates while I was dedicated more time to the projects we are focused on.
