Global Women Rising
Decent work for her, through skills development and connection.
Young women from underserved communities often drop out of school and never get a chance at decent employment throughout their lives. This often contributes to early marriages, living in abusive relationships and premature deaths. Lack of education qualification coupled with lack employable skills and soft skills puts the girls at a disadvantage and makes it impossible for them to get employed. Often, home duties leave young women unable to pursue education or career opportunities.
We train young women using blended learning solutions to expose and impart 21st century digital, employability and soft skills to the young women and partner with potential partners to create a pipeline of employment for the them or support them to start their own tech innovation. A young woman can take a course fully online and get tested from the comfort of her home on her phone. The platform is both online and offline so young women can learn from anywhere at anytime or if needed come to our center.
We believe that if we connect with employers and learn what they are looking for in terms of technical and soft skills, anticipating their employment needs over a couple of years and training our young women to march that required skillset, we create direct opportunity for the young women to get decent employment. The work the women can get might be virtual, thus allowing her to perform her home responsibilities and also work to earn a living.
And because it uses both online and offline methods, it can be done at the girls own pace and find work without leaving her home.

we use blended learning and the jobs the young women are connected to are through technology. Most of them yeh related jobs like virtual assisting, software development. The training we offer is in digital skills like software development and others
train 500 young women who will also be charged with training others
Support 50% of the young women to get digital jobs both within Uganda and abroad

Our Vision is to partner with leading tech schools around the world to offer their online training to our young woman and have us as local training partners, organizations like general assembly, Woz University etc and also partner with thousands of employers across the globe.

we have so far trained 50 young women and connected 10 to digital work. We are finalizing our learning and jobs platforms. Some of the young women who we trained are part of the platforms Development team. We have entolled 100 so far who are waiting to use the solution.
we expect to work with 5000 young women in three years by collaborating with already existing organizations that work with our target group, offer them the solution so the girls can train with them before joining the jobs platform.
We also plan to partner with schools in underserved communities, deploy the solution in these schools and after training and passing assessments they can join the platform.
The model will be similar in other countries.

we would love to get some funding to expand our work and potentially meet investors here.
We are looking for training partners and global potential employers for our girls through virtual digital work and this platform both by just participating and winning will push this agenda.
trainers, while online or e-training is good, we need local trainers too. We would love to get some trainers of trainers so that they can train our core trainers and these would then become trainers of trainers for other trainers.
