According to Russian Ministry of Health data there 7,5 mil of people with nystagmus and strabismus only in Russia, 7% of children and 4% of total adult population all over the world suffering from strabismus, in every maternity hospital the innate forms of pathology for every 50th baby are revealed.
Treatment of these pathologies same time is still in 95% of cases performed only by surgery, but defect of nystagmus according to statistics can return in 6 -12 months even after successful surgery and can lead to the strabismus' side appearance as the result of a surgery, while lack of treatment leads to loss of visual acuity up to blindness.
Same time the effectiveness of the surgery is provided directly by the accuracy of diagnostics but well-known methods of preoperative registration of involuntary eye movements based on using of methods of electro-oculography or photoelectric nystagmography don’t give objective quantitative characteristics of such movements.
VideoOculograph allows to solve this problem.

After working in ophtalmology and healthcare for a combined 70 years, developing some of the top distributed in Russia in CIS countries diagnostic solutions for vision, our founding team realized that there was a large gap in what was currently available for eye pathologies diagnostic and noninvasive treatment, and what was possible.
Our team believed that everyone should have access to highest level of healtch care experience possible, so we formed VideoOculograph with 1 mission: redefine the way we used to conduct vision pathologies diagnostics & treatment, bring revolution in vision diagnostic & treatment.
4 years ago we've conducted first experiments with our technology and realized that we could create something unique. We managed to move on to a new level and develop the 1st device for contactless diagnostic of several diseases by involuntary eye moves & pupils' reaction. We started from vision pathologies and were lucky to discover the essential new way of noninvasive correction at least two of them such as nystagmus and strabismus.
Since that time, we developed 4 generations of prototypes from desktop configuration to portable gear with built in light system and infrared camera and conducted countless tests in order to achieve max accuracy.
Our with my co-Founder mom is well-known al over the world children surgeon-ophthalmologist with more than 30 years of surgical practice and successful inventions in the healthcare industry. She is one of our key developers and Medical Director of our venture as well.
She saw a lot of children with such problem as congenital nystagmus and wanted to have an opportunity to help them with no surgery risks or long rehabilitation period so she tasked our team to find the way how to do it the safest and most efficient way and we're lucky to achieve this.
VideoOculoraph team is comprised of MDs: surgeons-ophtalmologists and biophysicists, data scientists, mathematicians and coders, mechanical and electrical engineers. Two our key technology developers are well known surgeons-ophthalmologists with more than 30 years of surgical practice and successful inventions in healthcare industry with relevant expertise in field of development of Hardware&Software complexes for medical diagnostics.
We all bring unique expertise — from medicine to product design. What unites us? Quite simply, a desire to help people find a better way to manage their health.
During our venture, we had a lot of difficult situation such as the complexity caused by the bureaucratization of the IP rights protection process of each configuration of our technology gear but due to our mutual commitment in the success and our team expertise now our solution is protected by 10 patents already with the patent from 20th as the most recent one.
We with my co-Founder earlier also worked together on the startup and have sold our first business to our strategic investor from Seoul.

In addition to surgery correction for noninvasive treatment of nystagmus and strabismus russian product - Monobinoscope MBS-02 FORBIS (http://www.med-snab.ru/shop/part13/oftalmomiotrenazhery/monobinoskop-mbs-02/) is known. It's cost is $4150, weigh is about 20 kg. However it does not allow to conduct online high accurate computer video diagnostics of eye pathologies during the the procedures for accurate treatment effectiveness tracking and doesn't assume keeping of video base of diagnostics data of patients and machine learning approaches' using.
There are analog diagnostics systems from companies of international William Demant Holding. The nearest portable solution from one of them, Interacoustics VNG VO425 (http://www.interacoustics.com/vng), for 7780$ doesn’t allow to conduct the noninvasive correction of eye pathologies but intended only for nystagmus' diagnostics.
Thus our value proposal for target audience is 1st portable inteligent solution which allows to to do both: high reliable health diagnostics by eye moves' and pupils' reaction and noninvasive vision correction in case if needed as well with an opportunity of online accurate treatment effectiveness tracking right during the treatment procedures.

Before VideoOculograph can become a medical device for USA market it will have to go through the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) premarket notification process. VideoOculograph eligible participants will help us by testing themself as part of a research study and giving us feedback to refine the VideoOculograph. This will happen in the framework of official clinical studies. This way we can put VideoOculograph through FDA to become an over-the-counter consumer-grade diagnostic tool.

Currently, we're generating revenue mostly from our 3 key customers - network medical clinics while each of them usually orders at least 8-10 devices at least once a quarter.
We raised more about $100K in grants and prize money all equity-free. For the previous year, those were $30K grant from FASIE Fund, $15K grant from Fund for Social ventures "Навстречу переменам" and 2 grants from Governor of Moscow Region and others.
Currently we're raising $350K for 14% equity to be spent on further R&D: improvement of features of new portable gear, CE/FDA certification, PCT localization in each country of our interest, serial industrial production, further product launch and its promotion to the market.
