Health Heroes of 2020
I am an inventor of a variety of gadgets who greatly appreciates the work and work in progress of others involved in multifaceted projects around the world to help with the coronavirus pandemic of 2020. They are the collection of heroes.
I have created a website and ,in the future, plan to create on an online course on projects throughout the world that protect us from viral pandemics and epidemics. There are people researching projects ranging from antiviral remedies to developing affordable ventilators for those who may suffer from ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) from a viral infection.
What is proposed is a plan to encourage people to be proud of the efforts of their region as well to look for ways to protect us from future viral outbreaks. The goal is for future viral infections to be seen as something that may be able to be prevented and managed with scientific and engineering resources, from the first viral outbreak to the need for those who may need ventilators.
As I write this, essentially the entire planet is dealing with the novel coronavirus, COVID 19. This type of event could happen again, as it did in 1920 with the Spanish Flu. Because it is a global problem, there are presently efforts all over the world to deal with this crisis as well as efforts in the past that important information for managing this crisis today.
The goal is an online course on international efforts to protect people from viral outbreaks. This would include research, past and present, on antiviral medications as well as engineering efforts to build affordable ventilators.
This project literally serves everyone on this planet.
- Elevating issues and their projects by building awareness and driving action to solve the most difficult problems of our world
Many scientist and engineers all over the world are researching and developing solutions to the coronavirus outbreak and future outbreaks. By elevating the international efforts, a multicultural, multifaceted perspective is gained on efforts many people may not have known about. It should encourage inclusiveness, multiculturalism, and encourage more research on this and future pandemics and epidemics.
I was impressed on the range of solutions in medicine from throughout the world. For example; in Turkey and Taiwan, there is research on the antiviral effects of caffeic acid:
This project brings pride to people in different regions of the world in terms of what their communities have done, are doing, or will do to protect us from epidemics and pandemics.
I would be basically presenting the information on how a collective of international researchers are well-positioned to deliver this project.
My goal is present the how a collective of international researchers had the ability to overcome adversity.
My goal is present the leadership of a collective of international researchers.
- Nonprofit
It addresses the coronavirus and future pandemics by showing research around the world based on success in medicine as well as the mechanical/manufacturing engineering accomplishments in making mass production ventilators.
To rethink medicine as a global phenomenon.
- Minorities & Previously Excluded Populations
- 3. Good Health and Well-Being
- 9. Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
- 10. Reduced Inequalities
- United States
- Costa Rica
Outside of the existing website, it is unknown.
To have an online course with international reach.
Language barriers are the main obstacle for the online course.
The goal would be to hire educators fluent in various languages to translate the course material.
None so far.
Nonprofit, functioning off grants.
The end results are expected to be so valuable that the project can function off grants.
Unknown, but they minimal because it is an online course.
To encourage pride in the medical research being accomplished in various regions of the world.
- Mentorship and/or coaching
I need mentorship for creating the online course.
It would ideal if I could partner with the World Health Organization (WHO).
