Equal Reality
Equal Reality creates Diversity and Inclusion training in Virtual Reality (VR).
Equal Reality creates Diversity and Inclusion training in Virtual Reality (VR). Their VR experiences allow you to “walk a mile in someone else’s shoes” to learn what it is like to experience discrimination or inappropriate behavior.
Excitingly, we have created a proprietary software tool that allows content creators to generate high quality simulations in VR that are focused on human/social simulations. Which will make content creation more scalable in the VR medium (which we see as the biggest problem in the VR industry today).
Traction
From our software tool we created the world’s first Diversity and Inclusion app on Viveport (VR App store) which ranked number one in the world for education and business categories.
Not only that, The Chief of the Royal Australian Navy trusted us to deliver a behaviour training in VR, which is now planned to be delivered to the New incoming Defence Force Leadership team, as a key piece of the puzzle to drive cultural change.
Recently, we just closed our first 6 figure deal with Australia’s largest bank to co-create a diversity and inclusion training for their customer service staff. we will measure behaviour change results from phase 1. We also just closed a proof of concept trial for D&I training with a Government municipality in Australia.
Most excitingly, we have just landed a contract to co-create a bullying module in VR with world leading Diversity and Inclusion experts, MWAH, lead by Rhonda Brighton-Hall. To produce the world’s first fully-fledged D&I module, fully scalable and available to the world in which we will own 50% of the IP. But will be sponsored and paid by Australia’s largest online real-estate company.
All of this content will be leveraging our software tool. Which we aim to become the default industry standard for human simulation content creation in VR.
Significantly, we are now the leading team globally for Diversity and Inclusion in VR, and we have seen that the market wants this type of training. We are currently getting an overwhelming amount of interest with the current interest in D&I / Future of Work / VR/AR.

- New Industries
It is both new technology (we have developed VR content-creation software), as well as a new application of existing technology (VR for Diversity and Inclusion learning).
We use immersive tech (VR computer generated simulations) to teach via experience. We show you what it is like to be someone else, and see from a new perspective, to teach the concepts of unconscious bias, bullying, inclusive workplaces, and discrimination. We generate our experiences (VR apps) from the software we have created.
1. Have successful POC trials with our major customers (5 major customers already) ie. VR training measures show better outcomes than existing training methods, which are classroom/teacher, and e-learning methods.
2. Release our VR simulation content creation tool to the market.
3. Become the default industry standard for the VR training when it comes to human and social VR simulations.
4. Be the default standard training method for "walking a mile in someone else's shoes"/perspective taking type training (Starting with Diversity and Inclusion training).
1. Completely revolutionise experiential learning.
2. Make virtual workspaces for people to connect and collaborate, accessed through immersive computing (AR/VR), and uses our human-focused VR software.
3. Make the future of work more inclusive and accessible to anyone, anywhere, at anytime via immersive computing.
4. stimulate a new economy in the virtual world - make it a more inclusive one than the economies that exist in the default/physical world.
Partnerships with VR training POC trials. Partner with innovation and HR/learning and development teams to run proof of concept trials at corporates and government organisations. Collect feedback and data continue to build/improve.
After trials we will make the learnings publicly available for anyone to access.
We have had a few thousand downloads of our publicly available demo app.
We are running POC trials with partners to thousands (estimated 5,000) of their employees in the coming months.
Expect around 100,000 in 12 months.
Three years about 100 million.

Ambition
We are already sustainable.
POC trials we are paid for the co-design content creation process and development of customised learning.
In coming months we expect to make profit from a publicly available "off-the-shelf" product. Licencing the material and VR experience for learning.
VR subscription to our "creators suite" allowing users to use the same tools and software that we do to generate VR scenarios.
The coverage and partnerships that the MIT Solve community has could prove invaluable to us. We have a strong track record of creating mutually beneficial partnerships - we would love to capitalise on that community and believe we could add significant value.
The fact that it is focused on solving a problem, and specifically values inclusion is very aligned with our values. It looks at social impact, which is a main driver for doing what we are doing.
The funding could help us with R&D as well as establishing further partnerships and deals.
Publicity on a global scale. A barrier for us is global publicity, we want to have more presence on a global scale.
Global partnerships is another thing that is crucial. Backing by a prestigious name and competition would significantly help progress partnerships and trusts around the world, which could help propel us forward.
We want to be a name that people can think of when they think about "the future of work".
