There are over 500,000 computing jobs open and only 43,000 graduated in Computer Science (CS) to fill in those jobs as per Code.org in year 2016. This divergence is set to increase as the years roll by. 

There are millions, without a CS degree, looking for a job. Barrier to enter into Computer Science and Engineering is considered very high and not everyone dares to cross the line. 

MOOC have a wonderful model for training students at nil to low cost to help cross this barrier. However only 13% students finish a course on MOOC. Many drop out of STEM related subjects with the belief that it is too complex or they are too dumb to learn. But the fact of the matter is Everyone Learns Differently!  One size fits all method of teaching does not work in teaching. 

Quality personalized education in the form of one-on-one tuitions  are very Expensive and not affordable by all. Training students effectively in Software Development/Engineering is a challenging feat.

Students who eventually make it to the finish line enjoy programming and feel empowered! They not only help themselves but also help the community in which they live.

Our platform provides a personalized learning experience and will empower anyone who is motivated to cross the finish line with confidence.  Our solution is scalable as it is deployed on cloud. But our solution also provides personalized education experience by identifying the student's natural method of learning and provides resources appropriately.

There are many topics to learn in life however when you learn 'work of the future' technologies you not only educate but also empower students to effectively earn a livelihood and there by contribute to the society in which they live. This will help grow economies in all corners of the world and makes the world a better place!

Our proposed solution will educate not only the self learners (the typical MOOC student) but also students who are team players, students who need one-on-one help or students who learn hands-on, or with visual aids like video etc.  Since there is option for them to pursue in any direction at any time, we believe we will see higher completion rate on a large scale. Our solution is in one sentence: eBook + YouTube videos + Code Labs + Meetups + One-on-One sessions + Competition events + Display Gallery. Our pilot solution is deployed with an eBook. 

Our platform is deployed on Google Cloud and as such can scale massively. The content is deployed on a CDN (Content Delivery Network) to enable quick access to anyone from any part of the world. We also are building deep analytics for personalization.  Most of the content is digital either as an eBook or Video or Audio format.

Over the next 12 months we would like to focus on the content and make our content very relevant to the work of the future topics which includes; Java, JEE, IoT, Data Science/Engineering, Mobile application development. We will be adding one eBook at a time which are live as soon as it is ready and thereby self learners can start their journey. 

Once the content is finalized, we will start building features to add personalization features 

In the next 5 years we would like to complete all the personalization features and there by reach the maximum number of learners. As such our current eBooks are popular in remote corners of Michigan where Computer Science is not very prevalent in the society. We intent to educate and empower all strata of people especially women, under represented group and make learning fun and rewarding.

The founders of this platform are already working in number of Universities in Michigan there by having access to student bodies. The founders are active TEAL volunteers as well there by having ability to reach under represented High School students. Since our solution is deployed on Google Cloud, it is easily accessible by anyone with a computer, smart phone or a tablet. We also have plans of releasing voice enabled Alexa apps in the future.

Currently more than 600 users have visited our platform and over 200 users have used at least one eBook.  The range of students range from upper Middle School or College and working professionals. 

One group of Middle schoolers used our Java and Android eBook to help them compete in FTC Challenge. Several college level students used our Python eBook to help them get started with Python programming for Data Analytics.  Most of the college level students successfully created Exploratory Data Analytics on Detroit Open Data after educating themselves with our eBooks.

In one year we hope to reach over a 1000 people to have used our book. In about 3 years we hope to cross a million students not only from USA and Canada but also from the rest of the world.

The founder has trained hundreds of students in Java, Android development, Front end development, Data Science/Engineering to name a few.  We have designed and delivered training programs to Grand Circus, Wayne State University and several down town based companies. We have the know-how on what to teach,  how to teach to every student, how to create the platform for teaching; a really unique set of capabilities in one spot! Founder is having multiple industry certifications which includes SCJP, SCEA, MCP  and is also in the Crain's Detroit list of 1 in 50 people to know in IT in metro Detroit

At present our platform is free for users and we are earning through advertisement. However since we are adding personalization, some features will be charged.  We believe since we are teaching an array of 'work of the future' technologies, we will have millions of visitors and there by able to generate profit and sustain ourselves.

MIT Solve is a perfect organization to help us grow and really make an impact.  Even though we believe we are providing one of the best possible platform for learning, we cannot reach learners in large scale without help. MIT Solve, being connected with MIT has abundant resources to project us in the spotlight.  We also look for mentors who could guide us in finances and marketing for which again MIT Solve can step in.

Our organization is very strong in Technology and know-how. However we are weak in marketing and financing. With a correct marketing and financing partners, we believe our solution can be accelerated. At present we are slowly and steadily making progress and building our platform with one small step at a time.  However with additional help we are sure to make an impact at a faster pace. We believe that MIT Solve can significantly fill the gaps with their resources and connections.
