Creating solutions that reduces the amount of chick’s mortality in a poultry brooder facility while improving livestock management

The problem Poultry Farmers Management Systems (PFMS) is solving today in the poultry industry is the increasing mortality of baby chicks due to unregulated heating, diseases/virus in a poultry farm. During the 21 day brooding phase, chicks are constantly dying because of the above mention problems. On average, 1 out of every 7 chicks dies from unregulated heating, disease/virus. Last year in Cameroon, over 2 million chicks died. This growing problem is costing Cameroonian poultry farmers over $2 Million USD a year, and it is costing sub-Sahara Africa poultry industry over $180 Million USD.

The solution is our SAVE OUR CHICKENS KITS, a device with a Wireless Wi-Fi Microscope Endoscope Magnifier Digital Pan & Tilt Camera 1000X 8 LED with Audio & Remote Control, Thermostat powered by solar energy and controlled from a smart phone via mobile app. This device makes a photo of the fowl droppings in a poultry, diagnosed all diseases or virus present in the poultry farm; it produces the results and sends a report together with the needed treatment to a smart phone via mobile app while monitors and regulates the temperature to suits the health condition of chickens through the use of IOT, diagnosis and Big Data systems.

PFMS Mission is to break the cycle of poverty among smallholder farmers who remain poor despite being in farming for decades. Helping farmer increase production in a sustainable way and provides quality animal feed, expert training, Poultry Construction while monitoring & evaluating their farms and helping farmers gain certification with the government for protection and compensating them in case of an outbreak (Bird Flu). Our team provides free Impact Training to build farmers capacity and increase their production for food security. We have trained 4028 farmers. Our team helps farmers manage their poultry, finances and access to market to 1260 farmers in our database. We are focus in finding lasting solutions contributing in feeding 9+ billion people by the year 2050. The newspaper headline I want to read in my country in 2050 is ''Cameroon is finally food secured”. 

Save our chickens Kits is a new innovation with technological components to solve the mortality if baby chicks in a brooding facility. It makes various photos of the chicken droppings in a poultry with its Digital Pan & Tilt Camera 1000X 8 LED, diagnosed all diseases or virus present in the poultry farm with its Microscope; it produces the results and sends a report together with the needed treatment to a smart phone via mobile app. The Thermostat monitors and regulates the temperature to suits the health condition of chickens. It’s powered by solar energy and can be used worldwide.

SAVE OUR CHICKENS KITS is a technological device with a Wireless Wi-Fi Microscope Endoscope Magnifier Digital Pan & Tilt Camera 1000X 8 LED with Audio & Remote Control, Thermostat powered by solar energy and controlled from a smart phone via mobile app. For example; being out of my poultry, I can access everything happening, perform diagnosis on the health conditions of my chickens and also regulates the temperature to suits my chickens. 

Within the next 12 months, our solution goals are to produce over a million Kits, make sales margin over fifty million dollars while operating in three sub-Sahara African countries.

Our Vision is to enhance and support small & medium scale poultry farmers to increase production sustainably for the eradication of poverty, hunger and malnutrition within sub-Sahara Africa while contributing to the United Nations sustainable development goals.

Our kits will eliminate mortalities for hundreds of millions baby chicks which will increase the income for thousands of small scale farmers. This will reduce the selling price for chickens to satiate the increasing demand for quality protein source in human nutrition. Economic activities will also increase as youths will engaged more because they embrace technological innovations.

We are reaching our customers via adverts, sales and after sales services. Our kits are easy to install individually, we also help farmers in the installation process. The first challenge is theft, which we have been able to address because all kits have a serial numbers that we can track from our back end office.

We are constantly in communication with our customers to make sure they are having the best of our services. We don’t only satisfy our customer, but amazed them.

We have engaged poultry farmers in the full value chain in poultry farming by constantly providing impact training, access to credits and markers to over 2800 farmers.  Each of these farmers produces 5000 chickens’ minimum annually making a total of 14,000,000 chickens.  The Save Our Chickens Kits is still at the lever of prototype ready for mass production. We tested the prototype to 10 farmers and it was excellent. We are currently doing the intellectual property rights which will be ready by September 2018. Our first mass production is 3000 kits by October 2018

In 12 months, we forecast serving over 8,000 poultry farmers in Cameroon; this is 10% of the poultry farming population in Cameroon. This will save lives of over 200,000 chickens and will increase farmers’ incomes. Even the common man will be able to afford a chicken which is a quality protein source in human nutrition.

In 3 years, we forecast over 80% of the poultry farming population in Cameroon. Our first international moves are in 2 countries which is Senegal and Ivory Coast. We forecast 12,000 farmers each. This will save lives of over 3,000,000 chickens while increasing farmers’ incomes. 

Our team has all the qualities for success, we have a visionary CEO with entrepreneurship qualities, a vet doctor, accountant, Monitoring and evaluation experts, dynamic human resource personnel and a team of tech savvy experts. We are young and energetic. We have been operating in the poultry farming business for 8 years. This is why we are best for what we do and impact is being felt in the sector.
