Solar Hand washing & sanitizing machine

Covid-19 virus has greatly affected the world negativity. 

Our Product: "Solar automated hand washing and sanitizing machine" focuses on curtailing the spread of the Covid-19 virus by providing access to hand washing & sanitizing automatically i.e without physically touching the machine hereby reducing the spread of the virus. 

Our product is innovative and a basic requirement in this present pandemic, after the pandemic and any future pandemic. Our product is designed to automatically detect a user presence, turn on liquid soap, water(for 20 Seconds), then hand dryer(optionally) and finally releases sanitizer automatically. Since the virus spread mostly from contact this machine has taken care of such risk automatically.

This can be placed In public places, organizations, industries, companies, communities etc to help in the fight of the Covid-19 virus and also provide vulnerable people with access to good health.

We are focused on limiting the spread of the Covid-19 virus locally and globally. Even as some countries considers exiting lockdown there have to be provision for the safety of people especially when they are in public. Putting safety first is not an option but a must, here in my country over 8500 infected cases and globally above 300,000, at the moment no approved vaccine but WHO ( World Health Organization) encourages some safety measures one of which is regular hand washing as a way of fighting the virus( actually a preventive measure). So our product is focused on providing the public access to good and safe hand washing and sanitizing as a means of preventing the virus spreading. From our research the virus spread increases in areas where there are less preventive measures adopted, also among communities that lack access to safe hand washing or can't afford safe hand washing especially in public places. This has lead to the design of a solar automated hand washing, drying and sanitizing machine.

 Our solution is designed to automatically detect a user presence, turn on liquid soap, water(for 20 Seconds), then hand dryer(optionally) and finally releases sanitizer automatically. Since the virus spread mostly from contact this machine has taken care of such risk automatically. This machine is solar powered, controlled using a microcontroller, motion sensor and 12 volts water pump. The motion sensor (PIR) detects a user presences at a specific range, send the signal to the microcontroller which turns on a relay module that switch on the pump for the liquid soap, then after the liquid soap, the water runs for 20 seconds( according to WHO specification) then a hand dryer turns on for drying the hand , and finally a sanitizer liquid is released, all this are done automatically without the user touching the machine physically. 

Nigeria has over 180 million persons, the safety of these people are our target, base on the increasing rate of the spread of the Covid-19 virus here, there is need to provide the public with safety measures and safety materials that can limit or reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus especially in public places. Having carried out a survey lot of people don't have access to hand washing in public especially Internally displaced persons, Old people, poor people and physically challenged persons. We hope to solve this problem by proving them with access to a safe hand washing machine. ( Not physically operated so as to stop the spread of the virus from touch)

Our solution is focused on providing Health securities during the Covid-19 virus pandemic. Providing the public(people) with access to hand washing and sanitizing will keep them safe and healthy even during this pandemic period especially as we automated the use of the machine so as to stop physical operating.( As the virus can stay on surface of object)

Our solution addresses the spread of the Covid-19 virus faced by vulnerable people i.e the disabled persons, women and girls and old people especially in developing countries. Our solution is innovative because most Public hand washing machine are manually operated and this has posed a basic challenge for disabled persons, like the lame, blind etc, but our machine is automatically operated hereby a physically challenged persons can easily use it and feel a sense of belonging. This project is solar powered to solve the possible electricity challenge it might face in the developing countries.

Our technology uses a motion sensor to detect a user presence, then send the data to a microcontroller that processes it and turns on liquid soap using a relay module and DC water pump, same process is repeated to release running water for 20 seconds and switch on the hand dryer through the relay module and finally switch on the hand sanitizer liquid by sending signal to the relay module controlling the sanitizer liquid.

This technology is already gsining public acceptance in Nigeria and has encourage technologist  and other innovators to start thinking outside the box.

According  to the World Health Organization the Covid-19 virus spread can be limited by the constant hand washing especially in public places.

From our feedbacks, Nigeria has over 189 million people and with this population it's easier for the virus to spread if nothing is done to protect the people in public places. Our innovation will provide people easy access to safe health irrespective of their social status.

Currently over 120,000, and over 18 millions in one year, and over 120 millions in five years.

Our goals for the next year is to provide safe health to over 18 million persons, and in the next five years to be able to provide any technological solutions to assist the health sectors ( incase of any future pandemic), with also partnering with various health organizations to scale our products, some of which will include affordable ultrasound x-raying devices, digital thermometer s, heart monitoring machines, smart Oximeter and others using the medical standard for designing.

For our goals within the next five years, We have to get licence to produce some special health machines or devices, also finance for researching and development of some of these machines or devices

We are already working on partnering with relevant health bodies and working with skilled professionals to be able to develop and test and implement reliable health machines and devices. Also we will be releasing some innovative health products for sale to be able to fund our projects, and probably seek for grants to assist if necessary.

Our team are professionals in their profession and have over time gotten recognized awards based on their impact on their society.

We are currently partnering with A.G Solomon and Company a technology Company that helps in promoting innovative technology, and currently waiting for letter of approval to partner with the Ministry of Environment and Health, Nigeria. 

We are currently providing Solar automated hand washing, drying and sanitizing machine targeting a population of over 189 million persons. This is to help reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus among these people, presently in Nigeria the spread of the Covid-19 virus is increasing and has lead to economical shut down and lost of lives. Our Technology will provide this population easy access to safety in public places especially. We are working with health bodies to help us achieve our goals.

We hope to raise funds from organizations to achieve our goals by applying for grants from such organizations. Also from producing some other less expensive health products and selling them to raise funds to sponsor our huge projects.

We would like to partner with MIT faculty, Solve Members, and The World Health Organization. This is to enable us impact the world technological in this pandemic period using our technology.

Our technology is focused on securing lives following the World Health Organization instructions, our technology provides people with access to clean hand washing to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus especially in public gatherings. The use of our Technology will curtail the spread of the virus, hereby providing health security. 70% of The Elevate Prize for Health Security will be used to implement our Technology in some African countries especially places with vulnerable people. Finally 30% of it will be used to implement health innovations to prepare us for any future pandemic and improve innovation in the health sectors in Africa.

Our Technology focuses mostly of vulnerable persons which includes women and girls in developing countries especially, most of which can not afford access to safe health, we will be providing such persons with our technology to provide them access to safe hand washing and sanitizing. 90% of the grant money will be used to implement our Technology in areas with women who lives below $5 a day in parts of Africa and 10% for operations and project implementation activities.

Our Technology focuses mostly of vulnerable persons which includes internally displaced persons and displaced persons, here in Nigeria due to the effect of terrorism and natural disasters the impact of the Covid-19 virus has increased in spread in these areas on people who have been displaced or refugees, our Technology is focused on providing this people with access to good health during this pandemic. Winning The Andan Prize will enable us achieve one of our goals on providing refugees and displaced persons with safe health, 100% of this fund will be used to implement our Technology in this group of people. (Especially here in Nigeria)

Our technology is focused on impacting large amount of people lives. Winning the People's Prize will help us implement this goal. We will be using 100% of the funds gotten to achieve our goals of impacting millions of lives during this pandemic.
