Bluetooth 5.o track and trace tokens
Motovate has developed a tracing solution which is designed for citizens who are not comfortable with smartphone devices or have privacy concerns
The purpose of any technological contact tracing solution is to reach (possibly) infected individuals in order to inform them so they can get themselves tested and if needed go into quarantine to avoid further spreading of the virus.
The token itself is a small coloured device of at most the size of a matchbox, featuring a very simple (LED) status indication interface that resembles a traffic light and is only visible on request
- GREEN: NO INDICATION OF AN INFECTION
- RED: ACTIVE INFECTION (determined by a test)
- YELLOW: GO TAKE TEST (been in contact with an infected person)
Tokens can be carried in pockets, as bracelets, necklaces
The specific problem is the ability to track and trace citizens who could have be exposed to Covid-19 or other diseases.
The current approach of 'Lockdown' cannot be maintained. The impact on the global economy is devastating.
Coupled with poverty, lack of communication infrastructures and privacy has created the need for an alternative solution that can get closer to overcoming the above barriers.
The solution is designed around Bluetooth 5.0 long range protocols. The beacon we have designed has a range of 85m
Fixed points, which are used to scan for tokens, is based on Raspberry Pi.
The beacons, which transmit an anonymous MAC address, are scanned by the Raspberry Pi's with data pushed to the cloud.
The system can detect proximity or direction of travel data.

Eg A fixed point is installed in a bus station. If an outbreak of disease is detected at the transit point. There is a history of beacon detection from users which we can be map. We can 'push' a status change to the beacon advising the user to seek a test
The target population are those were a cell phone is not an option. The poorer regions of the globe.
Its also designed for populations were privacy and political oppression are key concern
The target cost for the beacon is $5
The project scope is Health security and pandemics.
I believe the proposed solution meets the needs of people in third world or countries with privacy oppression.
The product is ubiquitous and can be used for any disease outbreak. Its is not exclusive to Covid 19
The technology proposed is low cost and has been designed round the global availability of the components used.

Motovate has a unique technique in exploiting the long range performance of Bluetooth 5.0 LTE beacons.
This give is a detection range of 85m from the fixed point.
There are very few providers who can achieve this performance. This coupled with our supply and price strategy makes us very competitive.
The technology used is based on the nRF 52840 dongle and Raspberry Pi.
This approach has reduce the risk of supply chain barriers and price fluctuation.
