E-Class-flattening the curve of COVID 19
Providing adequate information on the transmission and prevention of corona virus infection in communities and the nation at large is critical in flattening the curve and preventing a resurgence.
With emphasis on personal hygiene, hand hygiene and community hygiene as being pivotal in breaking the chain of transmission of corona virus in our communities and the world at large.
The availability of potent ,affordable drugs and personal protective equipments at all levels of health care is key in slowing and breaking the progression and transmission of COVID 19.
Effective and timely training/ retraining of health care workers with the view of early detection and treatment of COVID 19 patients is key in flattening the curve .
E-Class intends to partner with local authorities and the federal ministry of health in ensuring the aforementioned solution strategis .
Lack of proper information can lead to grave consequences in the face of COVID 19 pandemic which could impact on the health and economic stability of community ,country.
Lives have been lost and businesses short down with its consequences ,some partly as a direct result of the pandemic while others as a result of misinformation and misconceptions.
As at today there have been more than 6000 cases of COVID 19 cases with over 200 deaths in Nigeria. Some deaths were due to initial lack of effective information on the prevention of spread of the disease and illiteracy while others were due to late presentation of patients and late diagnosis , others were due to lack of personal protective equipment in various health facilities and lack of training/retraining of health workers on early diagnosis of COVID 19 infections.
The mortality, morbidity and economic downturn experienced in Nigeria cries to the heaven and the situation may grow worse if the chain of transmission is left unbroken.
Nigeria is a densely populated nation with wide unguarded borders , failure at curtailing the pandemic would unarguable lead to healthy and economic collapse of the west African sub-region and the world at large.
E-Class is poised to bridge the gaps in information with the view of flattening the curve of COVID 19 infection.
We intend to partner with local authorities and the various state ministries of health and the Federal government of Nigeria to provide information on the prevention of transmission of corona virus with emphasis on personal hygiene and hand hygiene using cost effective and friendly tools such as town hall meetings, radio and television jingles ,newspaper advertorials with these information carried in local dialects to ease comprehension.
E-Class intends to also partner with multi national companies such as Dangote group in the training and retraining of health personal on the early detection and treatment of COVID19 patients.
We also intend to colloborate with local authorities in the provision of locally made personal protective equipment for our health institutions this would be beneficial in curtailing health worker infections.
COVID 19 infection affects all age groups , unfortunately the worst hit are the elderly population and the middle aged population who make up a larger chunk of the working population of any country. Nigerian situation isn't different. The impact of loosing this population strata may spell doom for our country and the world at large.
Nigeria currently have about 150 million middle aged and elderly population . About 50% of this population do not have any form of western education and are unemployed. This constitutes a major burden in the face of curtailing the spread of corona virus as most of this group of population do not understand the importance of the various precautions.
E-Class intends to partner with local authorities with view of arming this group of population with vital information on how to prevent the spread of corona virus . Furthermore, they would be made ambassadors who would be made to drive home these information in their various localities.
Effective information about preventing the spread of virus and adherence to this precautions would help to limit the spread of the virus and consequently save our beloved working population.
Lack of effective information is a grave burden affecting Nigeria and sub Saharan Africa. Fortunately, the preventing measures against the spread of corona virus are elementary and easy to apply.
Unfortunately the most affected population group are the middle aged and elderly population.
In flattening the curve of COVID 19 infection, adequate dessimination of information on the prevention of the spread of the virus would play a key role.
E-Class intends to arm this group of population with key information which would eventually help flatten the curve and prevent the spread of corona virus in Nigeria and beyond .
