Knowing who and where people are suffering the most, we will be able to make decisions to improve people's lives.
The coronavirus pandemic has already disrupted many aspects of our lives, creating unprecedented challenges and financial instability for our families. As our response to this pandemic continues, there are impacts not only on our physical and our financial health, but this is taking a toll on everyone mentally as well. Just as hospitals risked running out of ventilators during a surge of COVID-19 patients, the mental health care system might be quickly overwhelmed. Moreover, effects of lockdown and of Covid-19 itself could be deep and long-term, say researchers.
Good Feelis is a social program to gather Emotional Data and help citizens, governments, caregivers, psychologist and psychiatrists address the mental health aspects of the pandemic.
Users anonymously record emotions, and then appear on the Global Emotions Map. Any person or organization would be able to zoom into their city or town and see information from anywhere around the world.
Users track and share their emotions in the app. Users benefit from the feature of mood-tracking which is a technique in positive psychology that includes the tracking, recording, and analysis of a person’s mood, and is recommended by doctors to patients who want to improve their mental health. Moreover, the app includes gamifications allowing the user to collect points and level up, making it a fun and educational tool.
Users' emotions are anonymously added to the global world report. The users name and personal information remains hidden and the meta-data (demographics such as gender, age, location, etc) are collected for emotional mapping of the world in real-time. Users, companies, industries, governments and intergovernmental organizations can visualise how the world is feeling down to how each demographic, city or country is feeling, allowing them to make smarter and more informed decisions related to each community.
