We need a new solution to discovering population health problems as they arise. Currently epidemiologists use antiquated tools (CDC's EPI_INFO) and manual data collection to due things like contact tracing and discovering how novel diseases impact patients.
We want to adapt our existing app so that identified patients can answer questions about how they feel themselves. This will not only streamline data collection, but also enable much more than what would be possible by epidemiologists asking questions manually.
The World Health Organization is projecting that, by the year 2020, depression will become the world’s second most devastating illness. Depression is nearly always associated with unhealthy daily habits, but these habits are hard to detect and quantify. Combating this through quantitative behavior change is the fundamental aim of our original app.
COVID-19 needs to introduction. We aim to transform our health questionnaire and data analysis platform into a tool useful to epidemiologists in collecting data. This has proven to be an area our current societal infrastructure was not prepared for. The current tools are not user-friendly or streamlined as they were developed decades ago. Although this seems like a minor problem, it has huge implications for the speed of data collection and patient participation.
We aim to adapt our apps so that:
- Epidemiologists can craft and continuously revise health questionnaires, while targeting specific patients or geographic regions
- Leverage existing health data patients already have in our app or on their device
- Process and automatically analyze some data.
Our original app is an iOS app (with a web and android app in development) that provides:
-
Daily questionnaires, featuring psychology inspired questions, that help you build self-awareness and be more productive.
-
ML-generated insights highlighting how different aspects of your life are impacting you in subtle or difficult to notice ways.
Analyze wellness insights across populations for foundations, governments, and NGOs to better target health initiatives that are needed by populations.
Generate Machine Learning models to help predict health outcomes and the onset of chronic conditions.
Help smart medical device startups leverage our app to connect via Bluetooth instead of having to build their own mobile apps, as well as seamlessly integrate their data into our platform.
Connect therapists and doctors to patients so that they can ask patients targeted questions and keep track of their data between visits.
Our app primarily serves Epidemiologists. It gives them a new tool for collecting data in a more streamlined manner.
We also serve everyday people by giving them a platform to voluntarily report any health problems, especially important when its potentially associated with an outbreak. Then allowing this data to be shared with health institutions in ways which still protect their privacy.
A successful response to a pandemic outbreak relies on effective contract tracing, patient symptom tracking, along with an understanding of disease progression and how contagious it is. Our approach aims to improve all of these by revamping the old existing technological infrastructure with a new solution that leverages everyone's ability to report on their own health.

Myself and my co-founder are full-time. We have an itern as well.
We've done nothing for the past year, but research this problem and work on developing our solution.
Florida Atlantic University - FAU
We are a member of their accelerator program (FAU Tech Runway) and we are working with faculty there to begin pilot testing our app for continuous health monitoring of students there.
We currently aim at providing our epidemiological tools for free to researchers and rely on our existing business model of charging users for certain premium features. Additionally, we are looking to partner with large organizations for them to access their anonymized employee/student/personnel wellness data to help improve their workplaces through a SaaS model.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
We are currently sustainable and plan to continue to be. We are offering a premium subscription for our public app and looking for grants to help fund our epidemiological tools.
