At present, organic ilemba with the involvement of Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research organization (KALRO) to help us on research and planting material. Organic Ilemba we will want to commercialize cassava especially for production of flour, cassava chips and starch which will be sold from county level the whole country and outside the country
Organic Ilemba will have a Collaborative agreement with more than 10,000 farmers around the targeted arid and semi-arid areas to embrace growing cassava for commercial use for the success of this project which will bring benefits to the locals instead of relying on employment especially youths. Organic Ilemba will work hand in hand with the collaborative local farmers whereby a farmer will be needed to allocate a hectare for farming cassava. The farmer will benefit because as much as the company will be setting up the farm but still we will buy the harvested tuber from the farm at an international tuber price and the company will be the one planting, farming and harvesting the tuber.

With our solution on collaborating with farmers helping them from farming using the right cassava variety for their farm up-to harvesting period. Also farmers are used to traditional planting where else we will use drip irrigation=smart irrigation. The existent drip irrigation systems have already proven that they are highly effective.Drip irrigation significantly increased the cassava’s fresh storage root yield over the non- irrigated crops. With drip irrigation a farmer can obtain more than 30MT/Ha over the non- irrigated crops which give less than 10MT/Ha.Short maturity period on drip irrigation.By using this system a farmer can certainly ensure good water management.
Cassava production in East Africa is mostly in the hands of smallholder farmers who depend on costly manual labor and whom live in arid &semi-arid region whereby we receive under minimal rainfall per year with the current situation with climate change it has affect the region. If we use improved inputs such as improved varieties, Drip irrigation and mechanization in boosting cassava production it will easy the intensive labour and drastically reduce the challenges arid & semi- arid farmers face. That’s why we are focusing on small-scale mechanization for farms between 1–5Ha on this project.
Our growth mission is to change lives and the economic landscape in arid and semi-arid region. Our first step Growth will take the form of Collaborative agreement with a 200 farmers (first phase) in Taita-Taveta as our first region to embrace growing cassava for commercial use and expansion of operations into other cassava-based products, hence high production of more than 6,000MT. Our business idea addresses Organic farming, Sustainable food and nutrition security, Strengthen resilience to climate change, Water management Create job opportunities and increase incomes for small holder farmers especially women and youths.
Us impacting farmers especially youth on farming with the right varieties, increase yield per hectare through drip irrigation and water harvesting and empowerment of more than 10,000 youth around the targeted arid &semi-arid areas in the country to embrace growing cassava for commercial use for the success of this project which will bring benefits to the locals instead of relying on employment especially youths which is our target in 3 years.also Eradicate poverty and hunger,Ensure Food security, Empower 10,000 Youth through farming and Increase income to the low income farmers from $200 -1,000. Achieve to Farm more than 300,000 MT of tuber in our goal

We have being providing consultancy to farmer on the best cassava varieties they can use to acquire more yield and diseases free resistance varieties that the can use. How best they can traditional dry the cassava tuber.Majorly ours for the past year (2017) we were doing constancy helping the farmers to get all information they need on cassava farming.Which lead to collaborating with organization (KALRO), EBAFOSA,Nailab and connect4climate.For the 1year doing consultancy we saw many challenges farmers are facing from farming level to harvesting which lead us to come up with this innovative solution (drip irrigation on cassava)
We will have a Collaborative agreement with a 200 farmers as our (first phase)then later scale up to reach our targeted goal of reaching more than 10,000 farmers. Taita-taveta Major towns include Voi, Taveta, Mwatate &Wundanyi. The county covers an area of 17084.1km2 with 10,649.9 km2 being within Tsavo East &Tsavo West National Parks, providing a major tourism destination. The rest of the area is occupied by ranches, even as water bodies - including Lakes Jipe and Chala in Taveta – occupy 106 km2. Sisal estates and hilltop forests occupy less than 100 km2.population of the county is 381,210

Profit margins
High Quality Cassava Flour
The profit margin for HQCF is $0.50/1-kg bag. At a projected tuber volume of more 6,000 MT/year from 200 farmers, the profit would be about $1,000,000/ year. Reducing the profit margin by 50% still allows a healthy profit of about $500,000/year on. This profit can be used to cover the unforeseen expenses, expand social programs, and/or to seed additional growth in the business. Where else
Cassava (chips)
The market chips price is currently offered by the sector at $300-$500 per tonne for the same projected tuber volume of 6,000 MT/year the profit would $600,000 and above.
Starch
The market chips price is currently offered by the sector at $300-$400 per tonne for the same projected tuber volume of 6,000 MT/year the profit would $600,000 and above
