This mobile application provides essential information during pregnancy (nutrition, how to identify complications and so forth) . It is able to estimate the approximate delivery date of a pregnant woman based on her menstrual patterns and also provides advisory information on home care of babies born prematurely
Thanzi Lathu(Our health) is a mobile application which provides essential health information in four areas: i) continuous pregnancy information ii) estimates of pregnancy due dates iii) essential contraceptive information iv) information on premature newborn care (Kangaroo Mother Care) and it also updates pregnant woman of various changes going on in her body and Provides advice on nutrition, antenatal schedules, management of pregnancy complications and other important issues.
Maternal and child health is the most crucial component of the health system of every country.Malawi is one of the countries with the worst maternal and reproductive health problems worldwide due to the fact that Contraceptive usage is not universal,Teenage pregnancy rates are high and Premature deliveries are high.Some of the factors that lead to these problems are Possible failure of youth-friendly health services,Long distance to health facilities,Judgmental attitudes of healthcare workers and Complexity of health information (difficulty in recalling).
There was a need for a method of providing reproductive health information to sexually active women through effective communication means. With the rapidly increasing numbers of mobile phone users, digital means would lead to provision of information to large masses of people easily. Hence Thanzi Lathu mobile application app
In Africa,most women travel very long distances to access health care centers for them to have access to proper health care and it is often unrealistic due to travel time and financial costs,and the impact of these long distance health care centers is undeniable.The introduction of our mobile application is proving to be a part of the solution to the maternal health crisis by enhancing the practice of public health, providing information, facilitating consultation and supplementing care, all through a phone.
Maternal and child health are indispensable components of any health system. 99% of these problems are preventable. Technological innovations are one of the ways of solving these problems, and we believe that our mobile application will help in solving some of these issues.Our app intends to complement (not to replace) existing maternal and reproductive health services
This mobile application helps in reducing the maternal death rates and giving awareness to women on maternal health issues by providing accurate, convenient, customized and reproductive health information to people.This mobile application will be mostly used by women and all people of the reproductive age group.People will be able to download the mobile application by downloading it on a playstore.

People will access our mobile application by downloading the mobile application on a playstore by just searching the name of the application or by clicking the download link to the mobile application.People will be able to download and use the mobile application for free but it needs internet connection in some other features.

We sustain our selves by generating income from the mobile application through advertisements .Organisations will be paying advertisement fee in order to have some of there products get advertised on the mobile application but the adverts are health related only.
We do not have enough resource to market the mobile application so that it should reach out to a large scale of users.As a result with a few resources that we have ,we only have few users.Alot of people in our country do not have smart phones hence they are unable to download and use the mobile app
