DhanVac NoFaceTouch & AyurNivid App
We are committed to solve the spread of COVID-19 apart from social distancing and hand-washing and that is, to not touch face by the hands and to give user daily data of COVID-19 infections in each state of India (for now) and give information about steps to protect from the COVID-19 infection.
Here we are proposing a solution to use a combination of ultrasonic sensor and buzzer bundled all together in a case and can be worn over the wrist coupled with alert notifications in the phone (will be added) and android app with information about COVID-19 infection in India.
We touch our face 23 times in an hour which increases the risk of COVID-19 infection via entry through nostrils, eyelids and skin pores if present on the hands .This solution will reduce the spread of COVID-19 infection if scaled globally and implemented effectively and will SAVE MILLIONS OF LIVES!!!
COVID-19 infection has become a pandemic and directly affecting more than 18,64,629 lives and caused more than 1 million deaths and still counting. This has disrupted the economy and other services of many countries, including the developed ones. Each individual touches his/her face more than 23 times in an hour and at this rate, if COVID-19 virus particles sits on the surface of hands or nails and an individual accidentally touches his face, this may cause COVID-19 virus to enter through the skin pores, eyes, mouth or nostrils and make the person infected. By alerting the user to not touch their face, we can reduce the infection to half the rate ( User should use a clean handkerchief to touch their face). Also, we are providing the app which shows the rate of COVID-19 infection in each state of the country and giving guidelines about the precautions to take at home to stop COVID-19 infection. We are working on replacing buzzer and alerting the user on the phone via SMS or notification via app (and using Twilio) to not touch their face by their hands without handwashing. This small step will reduce the community transmissions and save millions of lives!!
We are presenting an design of a prototype where we are using a combination of ultrasound sensor and buzzer to alert the user as the sensor will detect the distance between hands and face and if the distance is less than 5 cm, buzzer will alert the person to not touch the face by hands. In this, a mini-sized microcontroller will be connected to the ultrasonic sensor which works in a reflective pattern. Ultrasonic waves are sent and reflected via a solid surface and difference between the sent and reflected wave is calculated and fed to the microcontroller connected to the WIFI network or a wireless module which initiates the buzzer response or an alert notification on the phone via twilio service ( or in the app via a bluetooth chip added) saying not to touch the face. Also, we are adding the number of COVID-19 infected patients in different states of the country and also precautions to be taken to prevent them self from COVID-19 infection. Also we are providing the app showing the status of COVID-19 infection in different states of India. Link of AyurNivid App is as follows: https://play.google.com/store/...
This solution will protect the people not affected by COVID-19 staying at home but are vulnerable to infection, especially to family members of infected persons, doctors and medical workers. We will be engaging them to use the solution by adding the email address and whatsapp number if they want to share their feedback regarding the changes they need and also giving daily updates in the app to give guidelines to follow in this time of outbreak. This solution will address their need to understand personal hygiene and not against COVID-19 only but against any other infection.
COVID-19 outbreak is currently the biggest challenge to the society and prevention from the same is utterly important. This solution will initiate a good practice of not touching face through hands without washing them which prevents them not only from COVID-19 infection but also other infections which is unhealthy. Also the android app will provide details about patients recovering an infected by the COVID-19 outbreak in the country and keep them informed about what steps to do daily to prevent any infection and save lives!!
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea
- A new technology
An innovative approach our product has is like we are using a totally different technique where we alert the user to not use their hands to touch their face. There are institutions which are developing gels or materials on nasal surface (where most of the pathogens do enter) to stop the pathogens to affect the host cells of the lungs and inactivate the pathogen. But the process of making such thing and bringing that to the market will take time and many of the individuals might get infected till that time and also effectiveness of the product to stop pathogens to enter is in question. It is the need of the hour to introduce a concept where we should stop large number of pathogens by making people adapt this practice of not touching face by the hands but by clean cloth or disinfected materials. The materials and the make of our product being available at low cost and affordability to use without causing any inconvenience to the consumers makes our product more better. Also we will be working on continuous development of the product to make it more convenient for the consumer to use.
All the details of my project are uploaded in this link: https://app.luminpdf.com/viewe...
Also, We are planning to add the hand sanitizing solution which will get sprinkled on the hands if ultrasonic sensor detects the distance between the hands and face less than 10 cm which people can sanitize their hands with and along with this, we are planning to provide solution to make people wash their by using simple solution of electrolyzed salt water in future which people can make in their homes. We are also providing mobile app with this technology to give updates about COVID-19 situation in different states of India. I think that smaller changes by a single person can make a bigger impact on the world. Small drops can fill a vessel. A small yet good change in the habit can save a single life and it means a lot to us. And such small changes will add and make a bigger impact. This solution will make people think about their habit to act upon saving themselves from pandemics and don't wait for any vaccine to save them and protect themselves from any pathogen attack during pandemics or anytime. By not touching their face by their hands, they are not saving themselves but saving others too and also doing social work in turn. This is my theory of change i.e making people bring change by self helping themselves. This is especially for the migrant workers who can help themselves by this while walking the long mile. Just need to prepare them in a large scale and make this a trend! Let us make people change this bad habit.

We are not operational with serving any people and your idea is in a concept stage right now. But once this idea is modified in a way that it becomes operational along with good promotion and marketing, we will be able to target all the vulnerable populations and we will contribute some of the sets to the poorer populations as a part of our donation and philosophy to donate to the poor.
To make such cheap cost effective devices that help humankind in places where sanitation is a daily need and people don't get it. We are sure and we will bring a big impact in a life of many people and we are working on different ideas and modifications of the existing ideas to suit different range of users. In One year, we are targeting One lakh population to be served in a municipal corporation and as per the demand, we would like to multifold our target to a particular state or multiple states of India i.e. around 20 million people if possible.
We highlight here the challenges and barriers presented to us in each case. They are as follows:
1) Financial: We don't have enough capital to proceed and we need a stable funding from multiple sources possible.
2) Legal: We didn't have this idea patented and we need help in dealing with legal matters like copyright issues and other legal issues related to publishing the app related to it's working.
3) Cultural: Cultural challenges are there like hesitation of people to use this technology, especially for the people not addicted to the technology driven products. We need support for reaching to people for that.
4) Market: This product has lot of marketing potential but it needs some form of advertising and proper contacts to make it reach to the government
To overcome these barriers, we require certain resources:
1) Financial: We need funding for building the resources. Also connection with technologists and manufacturing companies plus research and development firms are needed.
2) Legal: We need legal expertise to handle the matters of patenting with us and also talking in legal terms with different governmental and non governmental organisations
We need expertise on advertisement and some help in arranging funds also.
- Not registered as any organization
Right now We have a team of 2 people.
Siddhant Mukherjee - Co-founder
Prajwal Waingankar - Co-founder and Technology Officer
We are an will be working with a team of 3 people in addition and taking young individuals for the same.
Siddhant Mukherjee - I have years of experience in developing prototypes for different medical problems and working with medical companies. I am a far thinker and have a good mindset to change the world. I have done my M.Tech in Biomedical Instrumentation from College of Engineering Pune and have two research papers under my name.
Prajwal Waingankar - My colleague is an android developer and good technology development and has around 2 years of experience in android app development. He has completed his B.Sc in Computer Science and IT and this doesn't limit his ability to work for his passion to develop something for the needy people. He is also the co-founder of the startup Nivala which aims to feed the poor from the food which we leave when our stomachs our fulfilled. The Nivala App allows the user to post pictures of the food which is left from their hotels or homes which they send to the center and Nivala coordinators pick the same from their homes and give to the nearest poor. Such initiatives will save the food wastage and give it to the people who need it the most.
We have no partnerships and are aiming for nay partnerships in India and abroad.
Key customers: More and more people infected by the COVID-19 infection, doctors, nurses, healthworkers and all workers including migrant workers in India.
Services and Products offered: We will offer a wrist type based corona-saver watch and a sprayer + salt (for 1st use solution) + Mobile app (free)
Need: To stop touching their faces by their hands and spread the infection
How we provide them: By joining with associations to distribute this to the same. Also we would use marketing services from third party sources in future for more expansion
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
Crowdfunding might be first option. But on a small scale, we will depend on funding from this organisation and we will also run for the grants available from different sources.
For overcoming our barriers, we require certain resources which SOLVE can provide:
1) Financial: We need funding for building the resources. Also connection with technologists and manufacturing companies plus research and development firms are needed.
2) Legal: We need legal expertise to handle the matters of patenting with us and also talking in legal terms with different governmental and non governmental organisations
We need expertise on advertisement and some help in arranging funds also.

Partnership goals will include working with those organisations which can work with the philosophies which we share. Also we would be work on fulfilling certain goals for sanitation with such organisations such as working on to spread our aims and objectives of our sanitation along with such organisations by carrying out certain works. We will be also approaching for some governmental projects to increase our might and capability for being operational in various aspects related to sanitation.
We would like to partner with NGO's as well as SOLVE members participation from different areas to work on sanitation and health pandemics challenges, especially COVID-19 challenges. We are not enlisting anyone as we believe that each organisation has its different set of objectives and all such groups go for a noble cause. Naming anyone doesn't make any organisation's goals larger or anyone else smaller. Everyone is working for a noble cause and we are ready to work with any organisation from SOLVE that shares our philosophy and we would appreciate if we could get some expertise from the MIT technologists.
Our solution has capability to solve this pandemic's biggest challenge and that is to not touch their faces by their hands which is a yet small challenge for anyone but it matters to the world right now. Everyone who is working even at small scale to prevent the infection even the awareness raisers are heroes in all terms. We would be better than happy to serve the people and term ourselves as heroes in our eyes as we are contributing in this time of pandemic. These are the reasons why we qualify for this.
As given in the links earlier, we are also working to give right information on the app about COVID-19 infection rates in different states of India. We are constantly working on providing data on as much things related to COVID-19 infection to the public through our android on playstore and we would be working on gathering more information and will be using reminders to tell them whether hands are washed properly or not. We qualify for this prize because of the above reasons and we stand by to provide AI and data for humanity.
Our solution is a big help to women safety which do come in this time especially the migrant workers and those women who work in medical sectors. To protect them from such infection, we contribute in a way that they can protect themselves by protecting others. We qualify for this prize too.
The solution which we are presenting will be better used by the refugees especially those who are susceptible to the risk of infection to save themselves using this technology to make them self-reliant and this solution is easier to integrate into the communities to prevent community infection. If we take care of the health and sanitation facilities, it leads to better outcome resulting in financial independence and growth of such economies.
