We seek to rapidly create awareness and prevention of COVID-19 at Household level among rural communities. We aim to achieve this by empowering community Health Volunteers through training and provision of masks, soap, sanitizers and other basic personal protective equipments.

What specific problem are you solving?

The focus of the project is to curb mass community spread of COVID-19 among the rural communities.Level of awareness and prevention in rural areas is low due to ignorance and lack of information.As the toll of positive cases and death continue to increase in Kenya,many people are moving from urban centres to rural areas despite of the Government’s directive of people to stay at home and the enforcement of the curfew.This puts the rural communities at risk and yet the community health volunteers who form an integral part are not fully prepared and lack the necessary equipments.

What is your solution?

Empowering Community Health Volunteers, Sensitizing rural communities, creating awareness and prevention of COVID-19 at Household level among rural communities. We aim to achieve this by empowering community Health Volunteers through training and provision of masks, soap, sanitizers and other basic personal protective equipments.

Who does your solution serve, and in what ways will the solution impact their lives?

Our solution is intended to primarily reach out to rural communities in Bungoma County. Level of awareness and prevention in rural areas is low due to ignorance and lack of information.By empowering Community Health volunteers through training and provision of masks,soap,and sanitizers,this will curb the mass community spread of COVID-19 among rural communities.

We seek to rapidly create awareness and prevention of COVID-19 at Household level among rural communities. We aim to achieve this by empowering community Health Volunteers through training and provision of masks, soap, sanitizers and other basic personal protective equipments.All this efforts are related to the challenge because they are geared towards the mass community spread of COVID-19.
