Project Whitewash

1. Use of indigenous herbs such as neem, and turmeric as a replacement for commercial surface disinfectants. 

2. Use of indigenous herbs such as neem, alum, turmeric, tulsi and aloe vera as a replacement for commercial hand sanitizers.

3. Conducting different permutations and combinations of clinically monitored trials on COVID19 patients using a mixture of unani, ayurveda and allopathy

I am proposing that experts in the field of medical science, unani and ayurveda combine their knowledge to fight the disease on all fronts and work on such experimental therapies using a synergistic approach to treatments.

The synergistic approach be used in making hand sanitizes, surface disinfectants and eventually cures and vaccines.    

According to many known and trusted authorities on Ayurveda, Vasa, Bramhi, Shatavari, Shallaki, Pippali, Kutki, Aswatha, Haridra, Tulasi, Kantakari are key in ayurvedic respiratory management. According to many known and trusted authorities on Unani, Bansa, Tulsi, Mulethi, Amaltas, Unab, Saplstan are common herbs used in respiratory management. The three most popular commercial drugs used for treatment or prevention of COVID-19 are hydroxychloroquine, a medicine used against malaria and some auto-immune diseases, lopinavir/ritonavir, a combination of antivirals designed to treat HIV, and tocilizumab, a therapy for rheumatoid arthritis.

My solution is battling the virus on all fronts using synergistic energy of Ayurveda, Unani and Modern Medical Science:

I am a big fan of Marvel movies. There was a very famous dialogue in one of the movies, "Whatever it takes." 

My plan is simple. I want to get the best unani and ayurveda practitioners in the world and combine their knowledge with that of the doctors working on the virology of COVID19. Run as many trails as needed in as many permutations and combinations as possible until we fail or kill the virus from every surface and human. 

At the time of submitting this proposal, over 1,485,535 people have already been affected by COVID19 and over 87,291 have died. That is a death rate is around 6% of the infected population. We are already in recession and entering depression. Countries have starting to fight over testing kits, masks, sanitizes and the concept of luxury has changed from gold, cars, boats, diamonds, etc. to insurance, medicines, groceries. People are dying everyday. 

If my solution or rather my theory has a chance of being .01% successful, we would have avenged all 87,291+ deaths.  

As per publicly available data, around 211 registered clinical trials are currently in place to fight COVID-19, with 85 different drugs involved. Over 34 countries are involved in on-going or pending trials so far. The three most popular drug candidates for treatment or prevention of COVID-19 are hydroxychloroquine, a medicine used against malaria and some auto-immune diseases, lopinavir/ritonavir, a combination of antivirals designed to treat HIV, and tocilizumab, a therapy for rheumatoid arthritis.

Majority of the health organizations and authorities on COVID19 are dismissing and writing off alternative therapies with the comment that there is no evidence to support their claims and only focusing on modern medicine as a last resort.

This is a battle that needs to be fought on all fronts using all weapons available. 

I have an idea, to build together a team, a team of the best physicians, medical practitioners, engineers and practitioners of the ancient arts of Unani and Ayurveda.  

If there was evidence that this idea worked, we would not have lost over 87000 lives in a matter of months. The only evidence I can provide is different places in India and abroad are using unani and ayurveda, but that too is being used in singularity, not in combination with other methods and reports available to public are  not giving conclusive evidence.  

There is a question in this form where I have been asked to select the characteristic of the target population. I seem to have marked all the options. This is my theory of change. Either we will or won't kill Corona forever.

My solution is currently is only a theory and concept. 

I am looking at helping around 7,776,617,876 people if it works in next 3 years. 

My one year goal is to promote my theory of synergy and get practitioners from each field to come on a common platform and begin trial runs.

I have not set a five year goal for this project keeping in mind that time is of the essence here and a lot of money and lives are being lost on a daily basis. We are already in recession and on the verge of depression. 

If my idea is doable, it needs to be implemented now.

4. Limited Knowledge on all three fields - I am learning on the job 

I am currently working and researching alone on my theory of synergy.

We may not be. That is the truth. But a solution is required.

Noone at the moment.

I am not looking at making a business model. I am looking for help in saving lives. 

I am not looking to maintain financial stability through this project. Whatever will be invested may not generate ROI. All amount will be used in procuring raw materials and conducting tests. If any of the three proposed solutions is successful, no patents would be applied on it. Methods and formulations would be made available for free to all organisations and governments worldwide.
