There were 43,996 cholera cases and 836 cholera deaths across 20 states in Nigeria during the outbreak period, 80% of the cases could have been prevented by circulation of quality sensitization information properly and in the most innovative way. the current COVID-19 infection figures worldwide is 1,213,927 and the figure increases every second, Nigeria is already taking the hit. this is just two examples of what Epidemic can cause if we do not think and innovate in the most effective ways. that is why Capital Power Multimedia Team created a project idea to create and localize sensitization messages that will flatten the curves through mitigation. it is cheaper to teach community people how to avoid a disease than to invent drugs that will cure them. while the world is interested in updating and supplying information to the influential citizens, our products target the pro poor disadvantaged Nigerians who ordinarily wouldn't have received any information on mitigation in local language if not for us. our descriptive animation videos reach over 10 million people weekly and with your grant, this figure will double.
Our solution is simple, we are equipping remote community people with necessary information using animation and well developed information circulation system to mitigate the spread of epidemics, our team is made up of animators, transcribers, video editors, voice over artistes and full set of production equipment. our source of information is the World Health Organization and Center for Disease Control, our innovation is our ability to localize world acceptable sensitization information into local languages and our ability to drive the process of information circulations. our solution is also an act of inclusion as the vulnerable now feel carried along and information truncation is greatly defeated
our solution serves all indigenous Nigerians with information emancipation. our major beneficiaries are the 40% illiterate Nigerians amongst a country of over 200 million human population. our products empower civil societies, community leaders, religious organizations and health workers with vetted contents which they distribute across their networks. during circulations, some call us back to ask when the content will be released in their own languages and some call us for permission to share and some call us to highlight what they want to know and in all, we have continued to include their suggestions into the process of making the products better and these community people has been a major tool themselves in the information distribution. they now receive world standard information in their own tongue and that has helped them mitigate infectious diseases
Epidemic outbreaks will continue to be a challenging process in the world order. our animation sensitization will continue to be timely in providing accessible information for the pro poor community people in their own local languages. when we first introduced these animation, they were excited and sharing it among themselves arguing that the world know they exist and has remembered them. our project let have absolute acceptability and more and more remote community people are becoming aware of coronavirus and they are learning through our animations how to wash their hands and observe social distancing.
- Scale: A sustainable enterprise working in several communities or countries that is looking to scale significantly, focusing on increased efficiency
- A new business model or process
Ordinarily, the WHO and CDC releases consistent animations about epidemics but in English and in most cases, voice overs in US or british accents. these information gets truncated before it gets to indigenous Nigerians because they can hardly comprehend nor reach the subtitle in English. our solutions is the first to localize these vital information into indigenous languages in Nigeria. we brought inclusion and we are currently flattening the curve in Coronavirus infections using this solutions.

Our solution uses information technology tools from development to distribution. we are hoping to develop automations and artificial intelligence systems that will help us channel relevant animations to the right audiences based on social media stage of origin data
Our solutions will also be used as a coaching tool for women during their antenatal in their respective health facilities . we will use grant from the Innovation for Women prize to provide TV screens where these animations will be airing in remote maternity hospitals. our solution believes that it is more vital to teach a pregnant woman about epidemics because if she contacts a disease, it affects more than one person
There is surge in the number of refugees in Nigeria due to Boko Haram insurgency in North East Nigeria. any solution we develop here must put into consideration the huge number of this constituency. if we secure the Andan Prize for Innovation grant, we will provide TV screen and solar unit to power and playback our sensitization in IDP Camps.
