FlexTeam - Smartest, executive women team on demand
FlexTeam is a portal between businesses and mid-career women cannot work in the current restrictive corporate structure.
Problem that you are committed to solving --
Highly experienced mid-career women drop out of the corporate workforce to balance families. These capable women want flexible jobs that work for them and are not interested in returning to full-time roles. Unfortunately, current marketplaces and consulting roles do not work for them.
On the flip side, companies are moving towards more contingent workforce, but have not figured out how to engage knowledge work this way. The time and efforts required to find, interview, negotiate, and project manage is too high.
What is the solution you are proposing --
We are building an elite freelancer, expert, and contingent worker matchmaking and management software platform for companies with a twist. Our differentiator is that we are pre-loading the platform with a vetted, trained, and/or vouched network of highly experienced mid-career women who had to drop out of corporate world but can use our proprietary features to do on-demand knowledge work that they were unable to do before. The key is our ability to break down projects, assemble optimal, ad hoc project teams, and provide necessary workflow tools and support designed to highlight their individual expertise while catering to the needs of this workforce.
Customers of our platform benefit from the quality and affordability of these previously untapped resources as well as the simplicity provided by our smart scoping/matching feature that uses past projects and other data as a feedback loop to easily generate scopes with pricing and recommended freelancer (teams) ideal for their project needs.
How will your solution change the world --
We would change the way a "job" is defined (for both companies and workers) and allow for more people to make incomes that are not purely from full-time corporate jobs. Companies would understand how to leverage a different set of workers, and it would be a win-win for everyone.

Our solution is innovative in the way we're leveraging this untapped workforce. We have figured out how to structure projects, organize teams, and provide software tools that cater to the needs of this group so they can be available to do on-demand work. Even the women who have been on the sidelines, we have figured out that with some peer-to-peer training, they can come up to speed on the latest skills to also effectively participate on our platform.
We are using data and machine learning in our scoping, matching, and vetting algorithms so that we can make our platform scale with software.
Our goal is to get more customers.
Our vision is to continue to grow and have more companies understand this is a great way to tap into resources. The more projects that come into our platform, the more women we can put to work, which changes lives. Eventually, we'd like to expand beyond this group of resources to other groups that need more flexible work.

We will get individual users through digital marketing and partnership with aggregators and companies through direct sales. Digital marketing will be about getting things done while companies will be about a contingent or supplier management solution that helps diversity issues as well.
We have about ~100 customers and 125+ women workers who are working on these projects.
We're hoping to be at 200 customers in 12 months and 2,000 active customers in 3 years with similar numbers for our workers.

We are product, data, and operations experts who have worked together for many years. We understand this demographic of customers and workers because we are them.
Currently, we make money per transaction.
We want more exposure to customers and believe we can partner with MIT and other organizations to do so. Growing our company quickly is the best way to have the biggest impact on the workforce.
We just need more customers -- mainly innovative companies -- who understand the value we are creating. The more exposure we get, the more customers, and the more women we can put to work.
