Our technology aims to solve the transmission of global disease outbreaks through rapid, scalable testing. By reducing diagnostic time to 15 or less minutes, you are able to separate infected individuals. We also have an app that is deployed with our that geolocates positive tests to inform public health officials of real-time dispersion data.
As we have seen with SARS-CoV-2, the entire world is susceptible to collapse from a viral pathogen. We originally formed a company because 40% of the world is vulnerable to contracting mosquito-borne viruses such as Dengue, Zika, and Chikungunya with around 1 billion infections annually. The novel coronavirus reminded us of the need for a platform like ours, the ability to rapidly diagnose and track diseases in real-time with no moving parts with an inexpensive, scalable test.
Someone comes into a clinic in Bangladesh, a hospital in London, or buys a kit in a pharmacy in the US for under $5. They, or a healthcare professional, put their sample onto our lateral flow test. 15 minutes later you have a result. You take a picture of your result and the app geolocates the positive test. We offer the knowledge of fast viral disease diagnosis with geographic data, making disease reporting open-source and reliable.
We are working to improve the lives of everyone in the world. For instance, with our rapid coronavirus test we could reopen the economy and help get people back to work and back to school. For the other diseases we develop diagnostics for villages in the jungles of South America and Asia, urban clinics in Central Africa, and for hospitals around the world. Our dream is to have a cheap, equitable test that everyone can use to have a rapid diagnostic for a virus disease to prevent pandemic. We have spent the past 10 years traveling to the communities where these outbreaks happen and have seen firsthand how a solution like ours would work.
By creating an equitable solution for pandemic prevention, disease monitoring, and rapid diagnostics, our solution directly targets populations from small villages in the Amazon to New York City. We are directly addressing SOLVE’s Health and Security Pandemic challenge by acting as tech innovators to solve one of the world’s biggest issues. If there was a test like ours in place for SARS-CoV-2, the world might not have shut down.
