Smart Social Distancing

This solution is committed to solving problems of the virus spreading fast in an uncontrolled manner, but at the same time minimize the negative effect on the economy. Efficient social distancing can prevent people from people transmission. In other words, if everyone is social distancing on the dot, lockdowns and panic reactions are unnecessary. As long as places are kept clean and additional preventive measures such as frequent hand washing and wearing masks are carried out. Smart Social Distancing Switch is a device that emits a hologram shield to provide guidelines for effective social distancing. It can positively change lives if it was scaled globally by preventing the disease from becoming pandemic if it is utilized early before the virus spreads out. Further, the device can be used for post-pandemic. If a pandemic occurs, social distancing needs to be continued until a treatment is created. 

Specific Problems that the solution will solve:

1. Viruses spreading fast in an uncontrolled way.
2. Many people lost jobs due to a pause in economic activities. The U.S. national unemployment was 14.7 percent in April 2020. If social distancing is done effectively, restaurants or small businesses do not need to close as long as places are kept clean, and people take in charge of other preventive measures. Thus, this solution will ultimately help people to stay employed while the pandemic is around.
3. The uncertainty that masks will protect an individual from getting the virus. People wear masks, but there are still numerous cases where transmissions have occurred from people to people contact. 

An outbreak of a pandemic disease typically brings sudden stop or slow down on economic activities. Hence, everyone is affected when a pandemic occurs. Luckily, some workers can work remotely; however, there are far more occupations that require workers to meet face to face with others to perform their jobs. In America, over 70% of jobs require people to people meeting for workers to yield the best results. Smart Social Distancing Switch will most help the people who run small businesses such as restaurants, coffee shops, or clothes shops.  

The purpose of the challenge is to come up with solutions that enhance prevention, accurate detection, and rapid response to future epidemics or pandemics.

The key problem of epidemics or pandemics is that pandemic viruses have the characteristics of spreading out fast in a large region from people to people transmission. Thus, affecting everyone both healthy and victims of the disease.

Smart Social Distancing Switch will encourage people effectively to perform social distancing, structurally preventing viruses from spreading out in an uncontrolled manner. Further, this would make time for vaccines or treatments to be created while minimizing economic slowdown. 

Hologram

Hologram technology has been proven to work, and the usage of it is becoming more common nowadays. 

Partner or collaborate with companies such as Microsoft that has expertise on hologram technology to create prototypes for testing. 

So far, there is just one member in this team. 

Value: Reduces frequent contact among people. The device is inexpensive and user friendly. 

Key customer: People who would like to strictly perform social distancing. 

How do you provide these products?  - Through internet or at places like local markets such as target. 

The device is small, so a high cost is not expected regarding the materials.

A combination of donations, grants, collaborating with other companies who would have funding for the project, and raising investment capital. 

This opportunity is meaningful because there is a high likeliness to impact the society in a positive way through this invention. 

Also, I believe in my idea, and I would like to manifest the idea. This challenge is an opportunity to learn from others, and take a step further to make the great concept into prototyping phase.
