Givion for Fundraising Based on Item
During this COVID-19, finding basic products for donation is not easy, even though there are more fortunate people who want to donate. GIVION supports the current situation by providing a platform that connect donors (who have money), merchants (who have products for donation) and NGOs (who have recipient list). By building item-based fundraising platform, GIVION expects to enable fundraising process faster, more efficient and more transparent.
GIVION can grow either by changing the products for donation or by expanding the area. During COVID-19, GIVION focuses on providing products for basic consumption. After COVID-19, GIVION provides productive items to help the recovery of economy. In term of expanding area, GIVION just needs to set up a partnership with new local merchants who have in close area with the particular NGO's recipient area. The donors who purchase the product can be everywhere.
We don’t lack charity programs but we lack a digital platform to make charity programs easier and more efficient.
However, there are disconnection in donors (who have money), merchants/ small business owners (who have products to sell) and recipients (who need donation). As such, we see the followings problems:
- Donors experience a difficulty in finding products and executing the delivery to recipients
- Merchants or business owners are waiting for customers to buy during COVID-19 and at the same time, they are willing to cut some margin for donation purpose
These problems are becoming more evident during COVID-19 in Indonesia. In addition, Indonesia has millions people in low income economy, but at the same time Indonesia has been named the world's most generous nation in the 2018 World Giving Index, compiled by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).
GIVION provides e-commerce and crowdfunding features to address this issue. We connect donors, merchants and recipient to GIVION's platform. We help merchants and small medium companies who are willing to sell their products for donation purpose.
During COVID-19 we focus on providing product for consumption, such as food bags. After COVID-19, we will focus on delivery of productive products that enable the recipients to have their own small business, to have access more online learning to improve the skills and to have some basic healthcare equipment to support their work life.
GIVION connects donors (who have money), merchants (who have products to sell) and recipients (who need donation).
Here are the impacts that each party will experience through GIVION's platform:
- Donors: more transparent on product delivery, faster in fundraising (they pay to buy products and allow the products delivered directly to the recipients)
- Merchants: more cash flow because the purchase of products for donation involving large quantities
- Recipients: receive more channels to get some support during their tough condition due to COVID-19 (some of them lost the job and need to spend more on foods and health care service)
- Enable small and new businesses, especially in untapped communities, to prosper and create good jobs through access to capital, networks, and technology
Current state of GIVION seems unconnected to our selected dimension. GIVION's impact will have the clear alignment once GIVION focuses on providing the productive items for communities during COVID-19 recovery. GIVION supports the economic recovery by allowing more people to have access in productive products for basic trading, for basic business operations and for educating themselves. The donors support by purchasing those products for donation.
During this pandemic, we allow the platform to grow and provide products for consumption so we can have more partners to collaborate, for example the merchants, the NGOs and the donors.
