Our solution: promoting socio-economic inclusion of refugees and migrants.
How? by facilitating and accompanying the refugee/migrant for an employment opportunity in the culture sector, promoting cultural diversity, building bridges of dialogue, and cultural exchange.
The integration is a fundamental criteria for any newcomer.
The outcome: developing employability skills and helping the refugee to find a job, he/she will contribute to his host country restart his life, and lives in dignity. Our methodology relies on revealing the potential of newcomers by helping them achieve their dreams.
Impact: socical cohesion and life stability for him and his family.
Problem: the barrier of finding a suitable job for any newcomer in the host country, especially in France.
Our solution is to accompany the refugee for a job opportunity.
How? We concluded in 2017 a partnership agreement with two museums (Orsay & Orangerie) in Paris for a training program in the cultural mediation that allows the beneficiary to discover the profession of Museum, maintain a social life, cultural practice and promote the professional integration.
Our activities consists of:
1- training program in the cultural mediation in collaboration with museums.
In 2017- 18: 17 trainees from 9 nationality joined the program, 8 candidates had interviewed, and 4 out 8 candidates got a job offer
In 2019: 18 trainees from 5 nationality, 1 beneficiary signed an employment contract
In 2020: 20 trainees from 11 nationality have joined the training program. 1 beneficiary got has signed an employment contract.
2- Specialized french lessons around art and culture, aiming to raise the percentage of getting a job opportunity.
3- Conversation club where locals communicate with newcomers in French in different subjects
Our solution solves the problem of the refugee in the host country.
How: by signing an agreement with most prestigious museums in Paris (Orsay& Orangerie) to train the refugees in cultural mediation.
our objectif to facilitate interactions and employment in the cultural sector, by shifting narratives and perceptions about refugees and migration. Our idea builds bridge of dialogue and culture exchange, involve the community into our project. We mobilize the students of colleges and universities to support us, they will help the newcomers to improve their French language. Our idea will help the people as well on move to secure their future.
Our mission is to promote professional integration in the French cultural sector. To move from empathy toward opportunity. The idea makes a change in the life of our beneficiaries, it turns the passive to active, changing newcomers' narrative through innovation, helping them to establish a network and potential contacts, help them reach next stage “call for action”. “when you are refugee you face the biggest challenge, I’ve faced, like most of the refugees and migrants, the prejudgment of the refugee by the local community, but today I feel more confident of myself and what I achieved” said one of our trainees. Myself, as a refugee I keep fighting to change the perception and mindset of neighbor. I am a role model for many of our beneficiaries, and they will be by their turn a role model for his/her fellow newcomers. With our commitment and engagement as team toward our partners, the agreement of MAHATTA was renewed.

The project responds to the need of cultural and socio-economic integration of the newcomer in the host country.
We create an economic value and social bridge between the newcomer and the local community. With our project, the refugee/migrant becomes actor of his integration, we build relationship among the different members of community and we encourage a dialogue. We mobilize individuals, institutions and NGOs to come together and develop social cohesion.

Our solution is unique because is a complete package, it's like a triangle with 3 sides, each side complete the other: social, cultural and economical integration, that lead to a complete social cohesion of the refugee.

Success criteria translates the number of new solutions we provide over time that align with the requirements of partners and the needs of beneficiaries, the outcome of the beneficiaries. Our KPIs are co-designed with our beneficiaries and partners and go beyond quantitative numbers. We want systemic change, and therefore are willing to work with a social impact.

- Create a new sector of activity that will allow us to increase the number of beneficiaries.
- Open the specialized French classes for a new category of public.

The organization is running by one person, as an employee with full time job.
So we are lacking of human resources that allow us to develop our activities and expand to other territory.
A secure fund will help us to recrute more people.
By securing a new fund and involve the local community in our solution.

The agreement is renewed on yearly basis with same conditions.
We have one employee works as a full-time job.

We think to develop a strategy that ensure sustained fund resources and subsidize our project.
The training program with museums is the key value proposition and the benchmark of our organization, our priority is to maintain existing partnerships with Orsay & Orangerie museums and to expand to other Parisian museums in Paris. To take the project to the next level, we require human and financial resources. Should be selected for the fund, we will invest it in:
- Hiring a full-time employee to help us execute the strategic plan, strength the ties with community and bring on board new funding.
- Developing our online learning of specialized French courses to attract more and wide public.

Why culture?
Because in the mind of people, culture is for the elite and not for refugees, we want to break the prejudices, refugees do not only need shelter, food, but also culture because they have a rich culture.
The project responds to the need for cultural and socio-economic integration of the newcomer in the host country.
I am a refugee and I know very well how it is difficult to find a job and start from scratch.During the confinement period, most of the refugees were in a vulnerable situation, in anxiety and fear and they suffered from the lack of technology tools to stay in connection. most of them they couldn't follow our French classes online. Andan Prize for innovation in Refugee inclusion will help us to provide our beneficiaries with solutions that help to improve their life.
