Mission
IMUHIRA ECO TOURISM RWANDA works to boost employment opportunities for youth, vulnerable females and the communities of Kivu Belt through environment and nature sensitive tourism activities.
Objectives
- Doing business by poverty reduction initiating people to other income generating activities beyond subsistence agriculture;
- Valuing ecosystem based opportunities that Kivu and adjacent Nyungwe Forest can provide;
- Promoting community based tourism product from connection of Nyungwe National Park and Congo Nile trail in general to lake Kivu; Providing educational opportunities to students in day to day activities of affordable ecological accommodation
By consideration of the length of our terms sheet and the impact that our start-up essentially has on the community, we still have a long journey to go. This would require at least 60,000,000 Rwandan francs as the cost of more land, of building two cottages, of starting our training center to fully develop & market our products. With this, we would inevitably deepen our networking, collaboration and partnerships to supply the real depth of the present demand and to implement our business idea in its fullness.
WE need both financial support and technical assistance. Technical assistance is needed in the areas of project management networking and conservation and sustainable tourism.
We need financial support
as we need to finalize the products/services and bring them to the level that meet customers demand, as well, we need to keep up with marketing
to increase the team and their experience to achieve the targeted goals.
to ensure accessibility to our camp as the path that leads there, needs rehabilitation.
to bring together 15 mothers who had early pregnancies from Kagano, Bushekeri and Nyabitekeli sectors for basic, life and tourism employability skills development ;
develop and maintain proper collaboration with partner, and keep up quality delivery & marketing.
We are working hard by investing in collaboration and partnership and we are hopeful.
We successfully participated in a" Call for Proposal for Innovative Business Ideas along the Kivu Belt Destination in 2018", organized by GIZ/ECO-Emploi in collaboration with different partners in Tourism and hospitality. Again, our business idea won National TVET Youth Challenge 2019.
Furthermore, We attended First Aid Training by Red Cross Rwanda and we participated in different regional and national incubation programs. As a result, we were able to raise 18,000,000 Rwandan francs, plus enough package of technical skills in tourism and hospitality business.
With this we are assured to overcome the challenge of a limited capital that we currently face.
