Empowerment Digital Laboratory (EDL)

We am committed to solving poverty among indigenous population by extracting their ideas and making them presentable and achievable within their context given their resources. We want to reduce, if not eradicate poverty and boost standards of living.

We are proposing an EDL which assembles men and women of different background and sphere of influence, that can assist directly or indirectly local population connected to their dreams despite their limitations and empower themselves.

Starting from the local indigenous population, that is, from the roots,. This initiative will be able to promote and locate powerful ideas in entrepreneurship and charitable gestures which can revamp growth thereby reduce poverty at all local level. We will positively affective the entire community. This possible because most of the initiatives brought in for scrutinizing are from the locals themselves.

In the English speaking regions of Cameroon, there is a serious conflict going on. People are being killed and thousands moving from their homes in search of safety. Before the conflict there has been high poverty levels with families in villages unable feed themselves. Education was a problem due to low quality of education. Today, thousands of children have dropout from school as the result of the war adding to the status quo.

When children don't go to school a the whole generations suffers. These children become mature with low standard of education. The chain effect of school stoppage are going to disastrous. High level of unemployment Will come in, resistance to positive change, poverty and juvenile delinquency among the young. 

With  EDL, there is hope. They won't necessarily need to study through the regular classrooms. From the aspects of business and life in which most of them show interest, they can be trained. Their business ideas groomed thought experts and their dreams easily expressed for well wishers despite their educational limitations. This will go a long way to get them involved in solving the problem of poverty and the rise of a delinquent society. 

EDL solution is simple, experts in diverse fields and background signaled when we receiving people with initiative that touch their expertise. We make idea clearly defined considering area which the idea can be  applied. 

We then channel them through our mechanism which will polish the idea and present to our the Digital team. This team will transform the initiative Using Digital Technology for easy comprehension and further exploitation. 

With the help of our Specialist, we now do some simulations, testing many possibilities and how feasible the initiative can be. We go ahead as to make recommendations if need be. We could bridge gaps so as to make the activity a success by adding the initiative to our network, just like in demand and supply chain management.

The end product of any transformation will be;

 1) A graphical presentation,

2) A well documented problematic stating the required resources and the sphere in which it practicable.

3) A solution to the problem and detailed explanation how it can be realised. 

4) Execution of initiative. This is done directly by us or a third party. 

 Follow up may not be necessary if the initiative is added to a chain or self regulatory system.

The target population are the dorminant vulnerable indigenous people in war torn areas and people suffering from high poverty levels as well as areas with poor levels of education where they cannot provide basic needs such as three square meals a day, did not pass through some formal education, lack clothing and shelter.

This solution will go a long way to create something out of what they will generally term "Nothing". Jobs will be created, poverty levels are going to drop, standard of living will will improve and the population will be empowered to think, plan and execute. In a prefect scenario as we envisage, once the general population is fully involved in their well-being our job is considered succesful.

EDL will promote indigenous population to see the world of possibilities and feel they belong.

To reduce unemployment, poverty, illiteracy and juvenile delinquency, it is important that the population ivolves itself im their own well being.

They will need information from experts to create small and medium size busineses that flow all through the primary sector right-up-to the tertiary sector. Businesses will be created. Poverty, stress and early deaths will be alleviated. 

This solution relates to the first three challenges. This is because we will detect resources and may recommend training courses from out vast network of experts

This solution is higly innovative because of it's form and nature of functioning. It makes use of experts and creation of a network. This enables maximization of available resources at relatively little or no cost but for a few. The solutions touches all lives and promote and encourages everyone to use our powerful database for their enrichment and exploitation. A villager in Kumbo, Cameroon can create a tomatoe farm if not employed simply because he has acces to to our database of information in how to open and manage a tomatoe farm among others. He could as well join the some famers who are succeeding in the farming Business. 

Nowadays we can find documents explaining how things are done all over the internet but none will provide follow up during execution. Our solution will not only provide follow up but the follow up is provided by experienced people in the field. More so, EDL will encourage people who have common initiatives to relate with each other. We empower our clients to be self dependent at most or interdependent at least.

The core technology here are Computers, software and Audiovisual equipment. Once and idead is recieved and polished through experts, the real work will begin and it entails transforming the ideas into digital form so that it can be presented anywhere and anytime. 

This means we will make use of graphic designers, software developers, video production experts and project managers just to name a few.

We are sure that this initiative works and can be carried forward to many people out there.

The technology works because of the kind of people it can serve now even without attaining its full form. So far we have given help to many startups in the remote areas ranging from farms to small business. These support were tested within the team and some testing and forecasting done using software excel and SPSS. 

Secondly we have succeeded to host four websites. There was an initiative involved in music production which created and hosted it's website. The website is www.swiperrmedia.com. We succeded by making their music available both home and abroad. We used a cloud hosting account with TMDHosting. In this recording studio, things are becoming more and more easy Swiperr. Their website should start selling and possibly become a music label in the years ahead. We are enjoying our work.All this is done in Bamenda.

Thirdly, i have sent many idling youths into learning trades like hair shaving plating. In the years ahead i intend to make all the people i help go digital. All this is done by asking assistance from colleagues and friends. Many like i idea and support me. Many are those i can't prove because they involve just peer interactions and assistance. We look far into the future and identify solutions today, we solve them before the need actually arises.

Change is eminent and should be guided in the positive sense. There is always an idea about all things. If someone brings up a way of doing things particularly the young, we should give a listening ear. The leaders of tomorrow are the children of today. 

Without change there is bound to be strife, conflicts wars and meseary. People quickly go into the dark when their desires changes in society does not come to pass.

Although change is a good thing, it must be positive, preserves life and encouraged love for one another. If it isnt so, change has effects that are highly selfish and may go a long way to cause hardship and misery on the less privileged.

Currently, we are working with  12 people. We are still working with a small team at the moment and limited in resources we are sure to serve more than 50 people in a years time and in five years about 300 people thus adding them to my existing network.

However if the my initiative grows we are sure to serve more and more and the years go by.

At full capacity, we can convincingly say that we impact the lives of more than 3000 people positively in 5 years by empowering them to conceive, plan and execute. This involves people of all age groups not excluding students.

Our goals are simple;

Serve the maximum number of less privileged people as we can. This can be intellectually, financially or connect them to our network. This will go a long way to reduce poverty and improve living standards. Those directly involved or connected to EDL will see their income levels increase by more than 50% in five years.

More so, in five years, we must have assembled a powerful network or experts and organizations that can solve big problems with simple solutions.

The barriers are many. Firstly, the population in question and people we have delt with are not informed they are limited to their small sphere and their petty believes. They lack access to land and people.

The people do not cooperate with each other. Cooperation among them is not objective, it is usually based on feeling and emotions which in most cases aren't meaningful.

They lack acces to quality information which can be used for to empower them.

They lack finances to sponsor their activities. Income generating activities are few and they solely rely on farming.

To solve the problem of not being informed, i will always encourage them not to minimize their thoughts and always share what they have in mind for testing or simulation. During the testing phase they will gather alot of information about that which is possible in context and that which is not.

I'll also encourage them to use the www to read and find out more on possibilities to make their lives better. This may entail connecting  the interested ones to the internet thereby permitting them to browse the web from our small existing Laborarory with installed gateways which filter web traffic.

As regard to finances our network will look for cheap yet durable resources that can to a greatere substitute money. Instead of buying land, we rent one. We affiliate with stores that can provide short term agriculture products such as seeds for farmers on loan and create a ecosystem that provides for one another. Connect and encourage unemployed youths to group themselves according to their skills and become a stronger body.

We work from different locations and most of our solutions are digitally related.

We don't use part-time workers. Our works is mostly among us the full-time team.

We don't work with contractors too. We can't afford them and haven't handled big initiatives that require their services

We are positioned to deliver this kind of solution because we have experience and we see the problems and master the terrain. 

We are competent and are upto the task. In our team, we have personal with expertise is graphical design and animation, photogrammetry and remote sensing, web design, systems Administion, data processing, project planning and Network engineering. Our scope is wide and our knowledge is good. We have the ability to assemble people and resources and to adapt to changes.

Our team is comprised of a Geologist, cartographer, ICT specialist, graphic desinger. All of us are free thinkers and adapt quickly.

We don't have organisations as partners yet. Collaboration is between peer workers, friends and well wishers. 

Most often we present what we are handling and we forward them to potential helpers. They support us with ideas and resources which could be financial, material or intellectual. As for initiatives that require finances we avoid heavy cost initiatives and take only the cheap one. 

Our business plan isn't clearly defined but when we want to bridge a gap between two member groups or individuals, we do in form of business. For instance a farmer succeds open a big farm and through Digital technology he can track his production process and it's yielding big time but he doesn't have a market. We encourage the initiative buying his produce and supplying it to the market.

Similarly our business plan is cost for Digital transformation and implementation of initiatives and benefits of playing intermediary role among members in the the transparent network.

We intend to sell ourselves also through publicity. Our services can be rented our equipments used for experiment, research and simulations. These can raise money and encourage young startups to use our machines for a start with relatively low cost.

We have two kind of works we handle. Those that are cost free and those that require money. 

For instance www.swiperrmedia.com is hosted through our hosting account. We paid for it already and it's a 3 year hosting. Through this hosting we cause our potential clients and clients to pay some money. We use this money to maintain their websites and perform administrative works on them. The hosting account permits us to hosts multiple multiple websites and four (4) websites are running in this account as of the moment. This gives us some money to connect many more who want to go digital on their affairs. We don't charge for creation, especially for those who still managing in their initiatives.

We intend to set up a farm in the suburbs of Bamenda, kumbo and Ndop. These farms we will organise the cultivation of perishable and food crops that are highly comsumed in urban centers. Basically, agriculture is our primary source of finance in the days ahead. We have bought about land in Mankon-Bamenda from the community and intend to exploit it soonest. There are many more projects in agriculture we are still exploiting so far.

Solve is will give us the chance to realise our dream of creating an empowerment digital laboratory where we can test and simulate initiatives so as to increase the chances of succes.
