Skills Empowerment for Job Creation
Various events can cause manufacturing jobs to be lost. For example, the present pandemic of 2020 has cost many jobs in the industrial sector. What is proposed is an online training program that presents how manufacturing job skills can be used for jobs in business administration and well as the digital economy. By scaling the program online globally, the program could create more good paying jobs for different economies.
When jobs are lost in manufacturing and related industries, the skill set for workers sometimes limits transfer to other industries. This affects population throughout the world. However, this can be turned around the skills can actually empower workers to work in other industries based on the proposed solution of an online presentation on how the skills can actually transfer to other jobs, and visa versa.
An training program allow people with manufacturing skills to transfer their skills to the digital economy and business administration, and visa versa. It uses online education as well as presenting work experience as a means to learn how to write applications in artificial intelligence.
People working in manufacturing would likely benefit the most.
- Equip workers with technological and digital literacy as well as the durable skills needed to stay apace with the changing job market
The project does the following:
- It equips workers with technological literacy because it presents how to use the familiarity the workers in manufacturing may already have in technologies often used in manufacturing. For example, many workers will likely have some familiarity tools used on the job site such as SCADA ( Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).
- It equips them with digital literacy in that technologies such as SCADA can be explained from the perspective of jobs in the digital economy.
- It provides the durable skills needed to stay apace with the changing job market by means of the above.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model
- A new application of an existing technology
It uses existing manufacturing skills for applications to business administration and the digital economy, as well as allows work experience to be utilized as a resource for learning how to write applications in artificial intelligence.
It uses online course technology as well as an innovative way to teach Prolog, an artificial intelligence language, based on manufacturing jobs skills.
I do not have evidence that this will work at this time.

It has not been implemented yet, and it is unknown how many the program will serve in 1-5 years.
To have the program serving its target demographic and the success measured.
The main barrier is if quality instructors can be recruited and retained.
By offering a healthy compensation and retirement plan to instructors who are hired.

Because of the innovative nature of the ideas presented.
There are not any collaborations at this moment.
To be funded by means of grants.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
The goal is that the success of the program and the jobs created will drive grant funding.
This program is innovative but may need collaboration with other groups to take off substantially.
- Talent recruitment
- Monitoring and evaluation
The core structure of the program is classified under online learning.
The main need for the program is instructors and the monitoring of the program's success.
United Nations University in terms of a collaboration for creating job skill training.
The program could be implemented at refugee centers to allow displaced factory workers to gain new skills based upon their existing skillsets. Unfortunately, displaced factory workers is a possible refugee group from war torn regions of the world.
The program also works visa versa. Women working in administration jobs can use their job skills to work in the manufacturing sector in terms of automation technology.
The program aims to allows factory workers to use their skill set to engage in digital economy jobs as well as administration jobs.
The aim of the program is digital literacy based on work experience in manufacturing jobs.
The program also teaches how to write applications in Prolog.
The materials for the project are based on the existing education audio/video material presented. Specific data based on adult education theory can also be presented.
