Saying and Doing has established itself as a methodology aimed at the collective construction of solutions, and their implementation through technology and social innovation and human-centered design. As a result of this work, about 150 young people have been trained and 7 pilot projects have been developed that use technology to solve social problems.

Saying and Doing is an initiative aimed at strengthening citizen participation at the local level, through the collective construction and implementation of solutions, making use of technology and social innovation. Therefore, the project seeks to strengthen local capacities for citizen participation for the construction of peace and the implementation of the SDGs; emphasizing:
(i) The deepening of issues related to the peace agreements and the SDGs, facilitating their understanding and inspiring the exchange of ideas, social dialogue, collaborative prioritization of issues and needs, as well as the collective ideation of solutions.
(ii) The incorporation of a gender approach, which allows for the equal participation of men, women, and the LGBTI population in the project.
(iii) The implementation of initiatives so that civil society, and particularly young people and women in the territories, can have tools to participate with an impact and scalability.
(iv) The implementation and use of non-traditional methodologies that promote joint decision-making, the creation of collaborative networks, and empowerment at the local level.
(v) The consolidation of a network of innovation and civic technology in Colombia.

Saying and Doing is unique and innovative, since it starts from local knowledge and experience, and adds to these the use of civic technology to generate concrete opportunities for social change. Movilizatorio has developed a methodology, tested in three municipalities in Colombia, that starts from identifying the opportunities that young people between 18 and 30 years old have to actively transform aspects of their communities that concern them, and ends with the launch of technological solutions led by themselves. The methodology is based on principles of social innovation, user-centered design and community organization. It also has an accompaniment and mentoring process that allows strengthening the technical and socio-emotional skills of the participants, while they are put into practice in the pilot projects. Under a learning-by-doing approach, Saying and Doing has co-created and piloted civic technology solutions in conflict-affected areas in Colombia.

Regarding the profile of the participants, all are in an age range between 15 to 35 years. The group of this project, in its entirety, comes from different organizations: academic, social, cultural, environmental, etc. within which they are involved in issues such as technology, social development, environmental sustainability and education, among others. This diversity led to contributions from different perspectives, according to their life and leadership experiences.
