McCo-op Platform

McCo-op Platform is a mobile application that aims to help pregnant women and mother access and create job opportunities by offering them a platform to communicate household needs and a common community to sell or resell products. We also provide online support and channel for them to share how they go through the difficulties being a mother. The platform will serve as an agent to help people find the help they need including household chore help and jobs opportunities search. We work to ensure that the platform can be accessed globally, so that all the pregnant women and mother in the world are able to connect and interact with each other. Even though they are in different time zones or with different culture backgrounds, they can still get help and communicate through our platform.

We are designing and lunching a platform for mothers to share life or work-related problems they may encounter while they are pregnant or being a mother. Our solution is a comprehensive platform designed to help new mother to adapt to the new life with a baby, and also help women who chose to leave their jobs for kids to access job opportunities while they can also take care of their children at the same time. We are working to solve the problem that after giving birth, many women either choose an easier job or leave their jobs in order to take care for their kids. The problem I want to solve is to help new mother to adapt to the new live style, and also help the mother who leave their jobs to access more job opportunities. We will also provide counseling services and create an anxiety-free space where mothers can utilize to release pressure and anxiety and be better prepared to restart career later after maternity leave.

The platform contains different topics including Emotion Support, Career Advising, Housework Helper, Job Opportunities, and Baby Monitoring. Emotion Support is an area for women to share their negative emotions. Women with experience can also share how they go through those difficulties and empower others at the same time. Career Advising section provides mother a platform to ask for help regarding career search and advise. Mothers who have time to begin part time jobs can access to job fairs through this platform. Based on location, mothers in the close-by communities can establish a chatting group where they can discuss motherhood questions like schooling, children pick-up time, and even arrange party off-line. This app can also simultaneously monitor children’s vitals including respiratory rate and heart rate with additional purchase of the product. There will also be an expert forum to help answer baby care questions for first time mothers. We will also provide a platform for mothers to sell or resell baby products and start their own second-hand baby essential business.

Our serve population are all expectant mothers and mothers in the world. They would need access to Internet in order to use our platform. Our product will benefit them as we provide psychological support for them with our network of mothers and job opportunities for them to take at-home or return to workforce after maternal leave.

The problem I am trying to solve is related to our daily life. Although many laws protect women from being discriminated, they still have to scarify a lot after giving birth. My solution is to help them to access to job while that are able to take care of their children at the same time. I am trying to solving this problem through a digital platform which people can access anytime and everywhere. 

For now, there is no such platform known and used solely by pregnant women and mothers. My solution aims to from a community mainly serving this group of population by creating a multifunction and universal platform. The platform covers aspects of work and life for mothers. People are only finger away to access this multifunctional mobile app.

My solution is a new application of an existing technology. It will be easy to use in most mobile phone system. People are able to download it through their app store. They can follow the word instruction when they access to the app. 

The app technology I used to design this solution is already used. People only need their cell phone to access to the app. It functions like other common mobile apps. People can search the topic they interested in and can read the related information directly. 

We hope our solution can provide substantial support for mothers and mothers-to-be. We’d like to raise public awareness of caring and supporting this group of population. In specific, we are making changing by not only offer channels for mothers to form a target community and access to business, but also at the same time solve their daily life difficulties in raising up a kid and pay attention to their emotional and psychological needs.

Although our solution app is in preliminary stage, we’ve designed the content and start gather mothers on social media. We aim to serve most pregnant women and mother in China in one year and move it to global level in five years.

We are looking forward to see this app gradually impact people globally. We hope women emancipate from taking care of kids after giving birth. After women in China get the advantages from this app, we want to transform this from nationalize to globalize. We want this app help not only women in particular area, but also women all around the world. 

The barriers we encountered at the beginning stage is that we don’t have enough amount users and it’s difficult to get people together in a community. This app runs as a communication place. We will need a growing number of users to create the community phenomenon. When we advertise and market this app to the world, we will also need to focus on getting international users with different cultural backgrounds. 

At the beginning, we can us promotions as stimuli. To be specific, if users invite the friends to join this app, we can provide coupon for household helper use. We can also generalize it through ads. In order to attract people in different countries, this app must be able to translate as many languages as it can. In the communication community embedded this app, people can read all content in their own languages.

Our app will be an agent for pregnant women and mothers to share experience and ask for help. New mothers can put ads in the app to find someone to help take care of the kids, the mothers who decide to leave companies to take care of their kids can go help and get some money. When children become order, one mom can pick some children in their community and other moms can pay for her. Mothers can post their needs. The app is like agent for them to find appropriate jobs or helpers. 

We are a non-profit organization. We are providing a platform for people to communicate. We will only apply agent fee to run this app. We also accept donations. 

As a girl, I know how hard to be a mother is. I want to help this group of people, not only because I am a girl and I may also be through this one day, but also because this is a huge group of people that are bothered by this problem for a long time. Although there are many laws to protect them from not being discriminated in companies, many women choose to scarify their job to take care of their children. There are women experience postnatal depression, I want this app can be a good platform for women to chat with each other and try to overcome this period. I also want women who leave their job can also achieve their personal value other than family value in this platform. I hope they can earn money and take care of their kids at the same time, and let them understand their value in the society. 

To be able to run this project for a long term, we will need a team of technical talents. Therefore, we will need continuous tech support from leading technology companies. Also, as we are a serving community for mothers and mothers-to-be, we may want to work with hospitals and government social work divisions where they have our target serving population
