COVID-19 brought an unprecedented wave of unemployment with millions of talented individuals getting laid off. There is uncertainty looming over our heads about the future. How long could they wait for jobs? How long would they receive aid from governments?
Emptrepreneur is a platform for all laid-off employees capable of working remotely (majorly from software industry) with an internet connection where they will meet others like them, create a project and select a team or join somebody's project and become part of a team. In either case, they will share equity in the project whenever the project initiator is going to register as a company and this would be a win-win situation because its better than staying home unemployed doing nothing.
This global chance for laid-off employees to work on their own ideas and spend unemployment time investing in themselves could give birth to the next big start-up.
We are solving the problem of unemployment. Speaking in Geneva via videoconference on Tuesday, ILO Director-General Guy Ryder noted that at the start of the year – before COVID-19 spread worldwide - global unemployment already stood at around 190 million.
The disruption to the world’s economies caused by the Covid-19 pandemic is expected to wipe out 6.7% of working hours globally in the second quarter of this year – the equivalent of 195 million jobs worldwide, according to the UN’s labour body. In the US alone, more than 33 million Americans have filed for unemployment as of May 2020.
There is a vacuum that needs to be filled. What is the future of millions of unemployed people around the globe? Would somebody hire them soon? Is there any certainty left in their careers in the near future? How long would governments be able to sustain aid? How soon would businesses be in the position to reopen and start hiring? The answer is: We Don’t Know…
With unemployment, social distancing and uncertainty in future opportunities, there is a dark tunnel these laid-off employees are going through.
Emptrepreneur® is the light at the end of this unemployment tunnel. Our idea is the first of its kind since the unfolding of COVID-19 crisis and it is based on one simple notion: We Don’t want laid-off employees to waste time doing nothing at home. We want them to make this unemployment period a self-investment based on ZERO opportunity cost. We will provide them with a platform where without spending any money, those who are capable of offering their skills remotely (primary focus is software industry) , specifically laid-off individuals capable , will register and become entrepreneurs in two ways:
1. Translate their idea into reality and Create their own project and gather a team
Or/And
2. Apply to somebody else's project and work as a team member.
In either case, before finalisation of the project team, equity would be shared and decided upon in a simple model i.e. if a project moves forward successfully, a company needs to be registered for the project launch and this is where project team will share company shares as agreed upon. Our platform will also own 5% share in the company registered as a result of a successful project completion.
Our solution serves millions of laid-off employees specifically from the software industry and specially those who have always had great tech and software ideas they wish to work on but never had the resources or time to do so. Time is something all our laid-off employees have in this unfortunate situation. Our solution is very simple and is based on one question:
"What is the best way to spend time during this period of unemployment especially when you have amazing skills to offer remotely?"
Our solution provides a platform to work on your own or others' ideas in an equity-sharing model digitally signed with Project Management and Team Collaboration integrated onto it. We understand that being unemployed and seeing no certainty in opportunities of getting employed again can be devastating. We don't want societies to imbibe hopelessness and despair. We want them to see the light at the end of the tunnel and stand up for themselves.
We want laid-off employees to take their first step towards self-empowerment and think of creating the next big start-up.

How can marginalized laid-off populations access and create good jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities for themselves? The answer is Emptrepreneur. The Job Market crashed with COVID-19 and regardless of their skill level, laid-off employees could not stay apace with the drastically declining job market. The proposed Solution would engage laid-off employees especially from the software industry and give them a chance to become employers instead of employees with ZERO opportunity cost.
The Solution is the perfect alternate to spending unemployment period for people who can offer their skills remotely instead of waiting to get back their employment.

1. This solution is redefining being laid-off and innovating the way laid-off employees choose to spend their unemployment time period amidst the uncertain COVID-19 situation.
2. This is a first of its kind solution where we are converting jobless and even hopeless but talented individuals into 'serious' entrepreneurs as they have already lost what they feared losing (their jobs) and now have nothing to lose, only to gain. With our timing and business model, nobody talented and capable of offering skills remotely would prefer being an Emptrepreneur besides staying jobless instead of doing nothing and staying jobless.
3. After we acquire users, our skill-centric data would give us a one-stop SAAS hiring solution for talent-hunters and they would be able to hire much faster and cheaper.
4. SAAS for investors. Instead of projects hunting investment, investors would find an innovative platform to reverse the convention and choose and invest in the best projects instead of risking a seed funding. They could go for Series A because the project milestones, teams, technologies involved, etc. including regular updates can be shown to them real-time without the need of interacting with the Project members. (The 'seed fund' in our case is the willingness of laid-off employees to form a team instead of wasting time staying home unemployed which should at least produce an MVP to be visible to Investors we get onboard)
This is not something complex to make. It just requires the conventional cost and skills to develop a client-server application.
The terms and conditions, especially equity sharing, before commencement of projects shall be stored on a Blockchain.
For a project to go ahead, Team Management, Project Management and VoIP communication are an integral component.

Currently we are in the design and development phase following an agile methodology. We expect to market this platform globally within the next month and launch globally.
We are targeting to acquire at least 1 million users in the first 2 months, globally.
The target market is unemployed people, specifically those who were laid-off due to the COVID-19 pandemic and belong to the software industry or are capable to offering their skills remotely.

2. To be the number one Global platform for Investors to hunt and fund their favourite projects
3. To be the number one Human Resource Business Partner Platform to help business hire the perfect match for their employment needs with just one click.
To market the product successfully and globally, we need a good amount of marketing seed fund.
Also, digital signatures vary in their legal value across the globe.
Retaining projects members on the platform and preventing them from leaving after forming teams to avoid giving away 5% equity could also be a challenge.
Sharing 5% equity in the company based on a project formed on our platform would require legal advisors across the globe.
We will actively pursue mentors in the entrepreneurship, venture capitalism and investment domains and would remain open always, for suggestions on improvement and strengthening of the idea and business model.
